1 Bettye Myers Middle School News October 2013 Volume 1, Issue 1 We Have Came Along Way By the BMMS Newspaper Team DENTON ISD.BOARD AP- PROVED FOR OUR SCHOOL TO BE BUILT IN 2008 2009 Mrs. Rick was named tour school s principal. 2011-2012 the school was suppose to open, but did not due to funding. 2012-2013 Our was under Construction August 26th We Opened! 2 MEET The Head Principal Mrs. Ricks Mrs. Ricks is our principal of Bettye Myers Middle School. She is married to, in her own words, The most wonderful man in the world! They were also high school sweethearts, and have three kids. She has two daughters who are adults and a son who is the baby of the family. Her favorite colors are brown, blue, and orange. Her favorite food is bread, and her favorite sports are track and field. She said that the best place she has ever been is Nassau in the Bahamas. Her favorite music is Gospel and Rhythm & Blues. But last but not least, she says that she likes suspense (not scary) movies.

3 Meet The Assistant Principals Mrs. House Our sweet assistant principal, Mrs. House is married with one amazing son and two wonderful daughters. Her favorite foods are fondue and tacos (but not at the same time). Hockey and basketball are her favorite sports. She says her favorite place she has visited is Yellowstone National Park. Mr. King Mr. King is one of our wonderful Assistants Principals at Bettye Myers Middle School. He is married and has two daughters, Annalia and Addison. He enjoys many foods, but he loves wings. His favorite sport is college football and his favorite team is the Oklahoma State Cowboys which is the university he graduated from. His favorite color is blue and loves war based movies and Sci-Fi films. He says the best place he has ever visited would be Yellowstone National Park.

4 Meet The Counselors Mr. Higginbotham Mr. Higginbotham is one of our awesome counselors here at Bettye Myers Middle School. He has been married for 11 years to Tana Lee. Together they have one son who is 21 years old; Mr. Higginbotham also has 2 more children named Heather and Jason. His favorite color is green and his favorite foods are Lasagna and gumbo. He loves football especially the Cowboys and the Buckeyes. His favorite genre of music is country and he enjoys Sci-Fi movies and Action films. He says the best place he has ever visited would be the Caribbean, which he traveled to on a cruise. Mrs. McCuller is one of our fantastic, and sweet counselors. she has been married to Mr. McCuller for 3 years and they have a little baby boy, Ryatt, who s 2 1/2 years old. Her favorite food is Chicken Tikka Massasla (Indian), and the best place she has ever been is Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. She says that her favorite color is blue. Also she likes alternative rock music and supernatural, action/ adventure movies. She also said that if she had to choose one sport, football would have to be her most favorite sport. Mrs.McCuller Mrs. Williams Mrs. Williams is also one of our outstanding counselors here at Bettye Myers Middle School. She has been married for 19 years, and has one son. Her favorite color is yellow, but she adores all bright colors. She absolutely loves popcorn, and her favorite sport is Basketball. Her favorite genre of music is Gospel. She enjoys watching comedy movies. She says the best place she has ever visited would be the Nassau Bahamas.

5 Meet The Schools E.R. Officer Stacy Officer Stacy is our very funny and caring campus officer at Bettye Myers Middle School. He has been married for 20 years and has two daughters and one son. His favorite color is crimson, and he loves any food that taste good. His favorite sports are baseball and football, and his favorite genre of music is rock. He also loves action movies and movies full of comedy. He says the best place in the entire world is Owen Field at Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. Mrs. Shepard is our nurse at Bettye Myers Middle School. She takes care of all the students that need her help. She has kids and she has grandchildren. Mrs. Shepard s favorite food is Mexican food. She does no sports, but she likes gardening, spending time with her family, and loves reading. The best place she ever visited was Israel. Her favorite genre of music is Christian. Mrs. Shepard's favorite type of movies is mystery/ suspense-who done it. Mrs. Shepard s favorite color is Blue. Mrs. Shepard Page 5

6 Register Mrs. Martin: Mrs. Martin is married and she has been married for 27 wonderful years. She has 3 girls. Mrs. Martin s favorite food is fish. Her favorite color is blue and her favorite sport is football. The best place she has ever visited was San Antonio. Her favorite genre of music is Luther Vandross and she loves girly movies. Front Desk Mrs. Claycomb Mrs. Claycomb is married to her college sweetheart. His name is Paul and he is an Art Director. They have been married 25 years! They have three boys, Aaron is 22, Wil is 18,(yes, with one L ), and Luke who is 16. Her favorite food is Tex-Mex, since she grew up in San Antonio. She says that It would be hard to pick a favorite color, I am a very colorful person. I like so many colors. She enjoys watching football. The best place she has ever visited is on the peak of Mount Phillips in New Mexico. Attendance Mrs. Guzman Mrs. Guzman is married and has two daughter who attends Bettye Myers Middle School. Her favorite food is sushi, and loves the color pink. Her favorite sport is gymnastics, and music is the 80 s. The best place she has ever visited was Disney World in Orlando, Florida. And favorite movies are Family-oriented movies.
