Good Oh - late in the mounting yard and trainer Michael Kent was reminded of his obligation to have his horses in the mounting yard in a timely manner. Began awkwardly and was slow into stride. Hung inwards in the home straight which disadvantaged rider Luke Nolen in riding the filly out. Ocean Magic - late in the mounting yard and trainer Shane Nichols was reminded of his obligation to have his horses in the mounting yard in a timely manner. No Tan Tat - late in the mounting yard and trainer Greg Eurell was reminded of his obligation to have his horses in the mounting yard in a timely manner. Checked to avoid the heels of Good Oh which was hanging in passing the 200m.

Bellaria (NZ) - taken wide upon straightening by Tres which shifted out. Bella Mia - brushed at the 400m by Good Oh which shifted out to obtain clear running, then laid out away from Good Oh. Race 3 - Chandler Macleod Handicap - 1400 metres: Uncanny Effort - late into the mounting yard and trainer Colin Little was reminded of his obligation to have his horses in the mounting yard in a timely manner. After beginning awkwardly was tightened for room between Vega De Lago and Blue Tycoon, which was being taken out. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have the thumps. Blue Tycoon - hampered at the start between Uncanny Effort, which began awkwardly, and Dexterous which was taken out by Sea The Sparkle (GB). Checked near the 200m when tightened for room between Hunting Hill and Dexterous, which was taken out by So Does He (Brandon Stockdale) which shifted out away from Uncanny Effort (Luke Nolen), after being initially taken out by that gelding. Luke Nolen was reprimanded and Brandon Stockdale was severely reprimanded for failing to straighten their respective mounts sooner than they did on this occasion. Apprentice Beau Mertens stated it was the geldings first attempt at this distance and did not run out a strong 1400m. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Vega De Lago - began awkwardly. Alward - began awkwardly and was slow into stride. Fabulonh - raced keenly through the middle stages when leading. Apprentice Georgina Cartwright stated it wasnt her intention to lead however her mount raced fresh and for this reason she settled further forward than intended. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off hind leg and will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again. So Does He - raced three wide without cover. Apprentice Brandon Stockdale explained he was instructed to ride the gelding fifth or sixth with cover however was unable to do so and for his reason he raced wide without cover. Hunting Hill - raced wide rounding the home turn.
Dexterous - accidentally struck over the nose by the whip of Brandon Stockdale (So Does He) approaching the 200m. The track was upgraded from Soft 6 to Soft 5 at 2.07pm after the running of this race. Race 4 - Heritage Finance Handicap - 2100 metres: Royal Butterfly - over-raced in the early stages due to the slow tempo. Raced three wide without cover from the 1100m. Rider Anthony Darmanin was notified to ride all of his mounts out hands and heels to the end of the race. Roldana (NZ) - over-raced in the early stages due to the slow tempo. Xebec (USA) - rider Craig Newitt explained that the gelding failed to travel throughout the event and was not suited by todays soft track conditions. The Willybe (NZ) - a post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off hind leg and will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again. Race 6 - Clanbrooke Racing Handicap - 1200 metres: Shockaholic - slow to begin. Aurelius Hero - tightened for room at the start by Chavuma which began awkwardly. Atunnah Courage - raced wide without cover. Praesentia - held up for clear running from the 400m until shifting out near the 300m.
Hes A Moral - steadied at the 350m when tightened for room between Ballet Master (NZ) and Parwan Prince, which was taken in by Amber Cavalier which in turn shifted in away from Wall Street Wolf which had also shifted in.
