Redesign of Rio Grand Academy Logo & Mascot.
Problem (Physical): Our local design company (C.H.P. Design Jobs) has been called in to re-design Rio Grand Academy's Logo. Before we start our redesigning we want to find out what faculty, administrators and students think or feel about the current logo and mascot s design and image.
C. H. P. Design Jobs will meet with Rio Grande Academy school administrators to then organize a few meetings with students, alumni and parents to hand out our surveys for them to fill out.. We want as much input from the community as possible.
Here is a copy of the survey we gave to find out how people feel about Rio Grand Academy s Logo and Mascot.

Logo and Mascot Design- In Motion Dealing with Emotional Issues
Our team consists of eight people which are divided into 2 teams of four. They are responsible to redesign a high school s mascot and logo. However, when the groups deadline arrives to submit their designs, some issues arise.
Issues to address Both groups take complete opposite approaches in the redesign of the mascot. From a simple conservative design to a detailed liberal view. Both groups logo design have similarities. One group accuses the other of stealing their ideas for their logo model.
Questions to Consider How do you deal with the differences between the two teams logo? How do you resolve the accusation of stealing the redesign logo idea between the two teams? Do you select one idea over the other or would you integrate several ideas from both sides?
Solution! The group leader has decided to integrate both mascot designs into one final draft. Both groups have failed in the initial draft of the redesign of the mascot and the group leader will have the task of integration. In regards to the accusation of stealing each other s logo design, the group leader has decided to use it as an advantage since both have similarities. Initial instructions were not given as to how to obtain their ideas or research.
Decisions, Decisions The final draft for the mascot was put together by the group leader using ideas from both designs. The decision to use the similarities from both groups for the final draft of the logo was agreed upon by everyone.
Problem Circumstantial: Alumni Association Protests the redesigns
Issues to address: Alumni Association thinks the new mascot looks disheveled and lazy. Alumni Association claim that mascot s new appearance is sloppily done artistically, as well as is the redesigned logo. How should our design team address the Alumni Association s complaints about the redesign? How to convince or persuade the Alumni Association that the redesigns are appropriate and necessary for a new generation?
Meeting With The Alumni Members We will be meeting with the Alumni Association to hear what problems they have with our designs with the intentions of convincing them to support them.
Showing them our new designs
The Alumni Association gave us their criticisms but otherwise agreed that it s up to the school to decide. We showed them our findings conducted using surveys given to all the students and staff on whether or not they liked the new mascot and logo designs. How do you like the new Logo and Mascot 10% 15% 20% 10% 45% Love it! Like it! It's ok. Old was better Hate It!
The Alumni Association seemed to be unpleased still, so we brought in our new fully assembled mascot suit!
After showing them the Mascot suit the Alumni Association seemed pleased and even liked the new designs. Our Plans got Approved and the school got a new mascot and Logo!
