President Mike Gallaher called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. David Peeples led us in the Pledge of Allegiance. Carol Peeples gave a sad report that Mary Jane Robertson was once again hospitalized. Mary Jane has been diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer. Carol asked that everyone remember her in their prayers. Mike introduced the OCC Officers for the year 2011: President: Mike Gallaher Vice President: Randy Volmer Secretary/Administrative Assistant: Shirley Berving Treasurer: Paul Jost Sgt. At Arms: Mary Jane Robertson (David Peeples sat in for Mary Jane) Membership: Mike & Dawn Stilwell NCM Ambassador, Newsletter Editor & Publisher: Chuck Watson Webmaster: Rick Poepping Charity Committee: Floyd Johnstone SECRETARY S REPORT: Shirley reported that a letter had been received from Central Missouri Dream Factory in appreciation of recent donations. A motion was made by Byrle Layman to approve the minutes as published. Seconded by David Van Mill. Motion carried. TREASURE S REPORT: Paul read the treasurer s report. Motion to accept Treasurer s Report was made by Dick Mericle and seconded by Rick Mestre. Motion carried. MEMBERSHIP REPORT: Dawn Stilwell reported that we have a total of 84 primary members and 71 associate members giving us a grand total of 155 members. No motion necessary. NCM REPORT: Chuck Watson reported that NCM is still looking for cars for their 100 years of Chevrolet display. They do not have to be Corvettes. Contact Katie Frassinelli at Katie@corvettemuseum.org. Anyone renewing their NCM Membership will be entered into a drawing on October 3 for the High Performance Driving School at Autobahn in Joliet, Illinois. Contact the Museum or Chuck for more information. Second Annual Vette Camp a week long, automotive driven, fun time for kids ages 6-11 planning is in its final stages. Clubs are asked to sponsor a child dues are only $165. Corvette Clubs can be featured in the Enthusiast Area. Two Clubs will be featured each year. Corvette Raffles include: June 30, 2012 Grand Sport ($50,000 cash option); July 21 2012 ZR1 ($80,000 cash option) 2 nd prize $1,000 3 rd prize $500. Only 500 tickets sold at $500 each. September 3 2012 Carbon Flash Metallic Centennial Edition Convertible. May 15 Cabela s Corvette Show - Marty Hodits said 6 cars were present and $176.28 had been raised for Herbert Hoover Boys and Girls Club. May 19-23 Lone Star Classic Texas Motor Speedway, Denton, Texas. Jim Ford reported 4 cars attended. May 21 Jim Butler Chevrolet Sponsor Display - Rick Mestre reported Jim Butler appreciated our attendance. May 22 Spinal Bifida Ride Day Karen Mericle had three cars and the children appreciated our effort. May 27-29 Talladega Super Speedway, Lincoln, AL - Judy Turner reported everyone had a great time. Randy Vollmer earned a checkered flag for the speeds her turned on the track. Randy reported that he was able to hit those speeds since there were no yellow Vettes in front of him. May 30 Alton Memorial Day Parade Fred said that 14 OCC cars participated in the parade. Those in attendance enjoyed a barbeque at Fred and Carols home. June 4 Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish Picnic & Parade - Jim Ford along with 9 other participants enjoyed the parade and festivities. June 9-12 3 Rd Annual Corvette Adventure in Wisconsin Dells - Floyd Johnstone reported that the weather was chilly but that 17 cars had registered. The Corvette Rally Team was in attendance. June 12 Hooters Corvette Display, Hooters of Westport - Jim Ford reported that 17 cars had registered and that $210 had been raised. Wednesday Night Dinner: Every Wednesday evening at 6:30pm a group of OCC members get together for an evening out. We go to a different restaurant every week and are always open to suggestions for new places to go. It is a great way to meet and get to know other members of the Club. All OCC members are welcome.
