Perdomo has forced 214 ground balls this season, ranking 12th-most in the Majors...he has also induced 22 ground ball double plays this season, tied with TEX Martin Perez for the third-most among Major League pitchers. Perdomo has hit three triples this season, and he has more triples than all other MLB pitchers in their current combined 3,316 at-bats...the last pitcher in MLB history to hit three triples in a season was Dontrelle Willis of the Marlins in 2007...the last pitcher to hit four triples in a season was Robin Roberts of the Phillies in 1955. GO WITH IT: OF Wil Myers homered for a team-leading 24th time last night, hitting an oppositefield solo shot to right field in the fifth...it was his third home run in his last four games, with all three having been hit to right field...prior to his home run on Wednesday at CIN, his last homer to right field was on April 6 at LAD. This season at Dodger Stadium, Myers is hitting.304 (7-for-23) with a double, two home runs and four RBI...he owns a.333 OBP and a.608 SLG in Chavez Ravine in 2017. RECORD HUNTER: OF Hunter Renfroe and PIT Josh Bell are the only rookies this season to have 20-or-more home runs and doubles this season (Renfroe has 20 HR and 23 doubles)...his 23 doubles lead all NL rookies and rank second-most in the Majors, behind HOU Yuli Gurriel's 30...Renfroe's 20 home runs are tied for fourth-most among rookies, and he is chasing the Padres' franchise home run record for a rookie (24), which was set by Nate Colbert in 1969...defensively, Renfroe has also recorded nine outfield assists among rookies this season, which lead all rookies. MANUEL ON A MISSION: This season against the Dodgers, OF Manuel Margot is hitting.333 (14-for-42) with a.383 OBP,.619 SLG, three doubles, three home runs and six RBI...his three steals and three home runs against Los Angeles in 2017 are the most he has had against a team. In 14 career games against the Dodgers, he has hit.346 (18-for-52) with a.386 OBP, a.615 SLG, five doubles, three home runs, six RBI, eight runs scored and four stolen bases. LA LA HAND: LHP Brad Hand has not allowed a single run in his last 12 career appearances against the Dodgers, and he has allowed runs in only two in all 16 career games opposing Los Angeles...in his last 12 appearances, Hand is 2-0 with three holds and a save...he has tossed 14.1 innings in that time, fanning 26 and allowing a.068 opponent average (3-for-44). SS Fernando Tatis Jr. broke the Single-A Fort Wayne single-season home run record with his 21st in the TinCaps 7-1 win over Bowling Green...LHP Adrian Morejon allowed one run on five hits with five strikeouts in 6.0 innings of work. #61- LUIS PERDOMO - RHP PERD, PERD, PERD...PERD IS THE WORD: 24-year-old Luis Perdomo takes the mound today for his 21st start of the season, 10th on the road, against the Los Angeles Dodgers...his 21st start eclipses his previous career high start total of 20 from last season, when he made a total of 35 appearances for the Padres. Has earned the win in five of his last eight starts and he has worked 5.0 innings-or-more in 17 of his 20 starts and at least 6.0 innings in 13 of those outings. TODAY S STARTER SWING IT, LUIS: In his outing on 7/22 at SF, he hit a two-run triple in the top of the fourth inning...it was his third triple in just 24 at-bats on the season, becoming the first Padre in franchise history to hit three triples in a single season. Perdomo s three triples in his 24-at bats were more than all other Major League pitchers in their combined 2,837 at-bats at that time...chc Jake Arrieta and PHI Jeremy Hellickson are the only other Major League pitchers to record a triple so far this season, resulting in Perdomo having more triples than all other MLB pitchers in their current combined 3,316 at-bats. The last pitcher in MLB history to hit three triples in a season was Dontrelle Willis of the Marlins in 2007...the last pitcher to hit four triples in a season was Robin Roberts of the Phillies in 1955. Recorded two extra-base hits in a game for the first time in his career on 5/15 at MIL his RBI triple in the second inning was the first triple of his career and he became the first Padre hurler to hit a three-bagger since Tyson Ross on 6/20/15 vs. ARI. HAT TRICK: Perdomo recorded a win in three consecutive starts from 6/23-7/5, the longest such streak of his career and one of only three Padres to record a win in three straight so far this season (also, Chacin, 7/20-8/1 and Lamet, 7/23-8/5)...over the three-game stretch, Perdomo went 3-0 with a 2.76 ERA (5 ER, 16.1 IP). To start the streak on 6/23 vs. DET, he tossed 6.0 shutout innings of two-hit ball, allowing no runs while striking out six...it marked his second start this season going at least 6.0 innings, allowing two hits or less and no earned runs (also 5/31vs. CHC), the only Padres pitcher this season to record such a start. The only Padres pitcher to record wins in three consecutive starts in 2016 was LHP Christian Friedrich from May 27 to June 6. QUALITY OVER QUANTITY: Has tossed 11 quality starts this year, the second-most on the team behind Jhoulys Chacin s 13. Tossed four straight quality starts from 4/28 to 5/15 and posted a 3.00 ERA (8 ER, 24.0 IP) in that time with a 26-to-6 strikeout-to-walk ratio. WELL GROUNDED: Leads all National League pitchers and ranks second in MLB with a 62.2 ground ball percentage (minimum 110.0 innings pitched), behind only TOR Marcus Stroman s 63.5 mark...teammates Clayton Richard (58.5) and Jhoulys Chacin (51.4) rank third and 11th, respectively.
