With his single last night, INF Carlos Asuaje has hit safely in five of his last six games, hitting.300 (6-for-20) in that time. Reliever Jose Valdez allowed five hits and three runs (all earned) in his 2.1 innings...last night was the first time in his career he's allowed multiple home runs in an outing. ELIAS SAYS: The Twins hit home runs in each of the first seven innings in last night's game, becoming the first team in Major League history to accomplish the feat...the seven home runs San Diego allowed tied for the most in a single game in franchise history (done five times, last on August 13, 2011)...no club has had a lower average (.138), on-base percentage (.183) or slugging percentage (.218) against the Twins in PADRES ON DECK: Due to the rescheduled opener of the Pacific Coast League Championship Series (rained out in Memphis), both Single-A Fort Wayne and Triple-A El Paso will be playing on the same schedule for their title series starting Wednesday night. El Paso will start the best-of-five PCL championship series Wednesday night in Memphis...the second game will be played Thursday afternoon in Memphis with play moving to El Paso on Friday (and Saturday and Sunday if necessary). 2 #64 - DINELSON LAMET - RHP ALL SET FOR LAMET: RHP Dinelson Lamet (Dee-NEL-son luh-met) is set to make his 19th career start tonight, 10th on the road, and fourth of his career against an American League opponent. Is 7-5 with a 3.58 ERA (33 ER, 83.0 IP) against the National League this season and is in search of his first win against AL foes, having posted a 8.40 ERA (14 ER, 15.0 IP) Has allowed three earned runs or less in his last nine outings since 7/23, including six quality starts, going 4-3 with a 2.55 ERA (15 ER, 53.0 IP), 61 strikeouts against 26 walks and a.179 opponent batting average. His 2.55 ERA since 7/23 ranks 10th in the ML and fourth in the NL. Among pitchers who have made at least 18 starts this season, his.203 opponent batting average ranks tied for fixth in the majors with LAD Clayton Kershaw and tied for third in the NL. Has allowed just three home runs in his last nine starts after surrendering 11 long balls in his first nine starts. The 12 strikeouts match the highest single-game total by any rookie this season (also CIN Amir Garrett on 4/19/17 vs. BAL).
