Liturgical Field Trip On June 22, 2014, members of the Youth Choir attended a Latin Mass at St. Michael s Church in Scranton. St. Michael s Church, located on Jackson St., is a parish of the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter, a Clerical Society established in 1988 by Pope St. John Paul II. Masses are offered weekly at St. Michael s using the 1962 Roman Missal and liturgical rites in force at that time. The purpose of the field trip was to provide an opportunity for the members of the Youth Choir to experience the beauty, tradition and history of the Catholic Church through participation in a traditional Latin Mass as well as to give them an opportunity to hear music that represents the rich musical heritage of the Church sung by the very fine St. Michael s Parish choir. Youth Choir Family Days At right is a photo from our March 18, 2010 Bring a Parent to Choir Night. This was one of several occasions on which parents of Youth Choir members were invited to observe and participate in the rehearsal. Below are photos taken on December 27, 2015. Family members joined the Youth Choir to sing at Mass on that day, which was the Feast of the Holy Family.
