THE COPETITION SYSTE GENERAL RULES The ery competitions of the XXIII Central American and Caribbean Games, Barranquilla 2018, will take place in accordance with the Statutes of CACSO and the Rules of World ery ederation valid during the Games. Technical cases will be resolved by the technical delegate or the Jury of Appeals. At least five (5) athletes or teams from equal number of National Olympic Committees must participate for an event to be considered official, as established in the CACSO Rules of Competition. In the event that after the Technical eeting takes place, one or more representations is unable to participate due to force majeure (verified by CACSO), the event will take place with four (4) athletes and/or teams as a minimum, from equal number of National Olympic Committees. anual Técnico anual Técnico

SPECIIC RULES The competition system includes qualification and elimination rounds. The qualification round for the recurve bow categories consists of one 72 arrow, 70 meters Round for both en s and Women s. Book 2, article 4.5.1.7 of the World ery ederation Rules. In the case of compound bow, the qualification round consists of 72 arrows, 50 meters for both en s and Women s. Book 2, article 4.5.1.5 of the World ery ederation Rules. The individual elimination round for recurve bow consists of games that are defined by set points in a simple elimination system, where the winner of each game passes to the next round and the loser is eliminated. Each set consists of 3 arrows shot at 70 meters in 2 minutes in simultaneous shooting games, and in 20 seconds per arrow in alternating shooting games. The winner of each set earns 2 points, the loser 0 points, and in a tied set, each archer gets 1 point. The victor is the first archer to total 6 set points. When a game is tied to 5 set points per archer, an additional arrow is shot and the winner is the archer with the arrow closest to center. Chapters 12, 13 and 14 of the World ery ederation Rules. 14 15 Seeding in the simple elimination system corresponds to the place obtained in the qualification round (sum of the 72 arrows). Article 4.5.1 of the World ery ederation Rules. The individual elimination round for compound bow consists of games that are defined by the sum of total points earned in 15 arrows (shot in 5 sets of 3 arrows each). Competition is in a simple elimination system where the winner passes to the next round and the loser is eliminated. Each set is shot at 50 meters, in two minutes in games with simultaneous shooting, and in 20 seconds per arrow in games with alternating shooting. In case of a tied score after the 15 arrows have been shot, an additional arrow is shot and the winner is the archer whose arrow is closest to center. The team elimination round in recurve and compound bows takes place in a simple elimination system, where the winning team passes to the next round and the loser team is eliminated. The set winner gets 2 points, the loser 0 points. In tied games each team gets 1 point. Sets in mixed teams consist of 4 arrows (2 per archer). The team to first reach 5 set points wins the game. If there is a tie in the sum of points (compound) or set points (recurve), a series of 3 arrows is shot (1 per archer in each team), or two arrows (1 per archer in each team) in the case of a mixed team. Time for a tie-breaker is 1 minute in same sex teams and 40 seconds in mixed teams. The highest cumulative points in the shoot-off determines the winner. ELIGIBILITY To participate in the XXIII Central American and Caribbean Games, Barranquilla 2018, athletes must comply with the provisions of the Central American and Caribbean Games Regulations, the Rules of the World ery ederation, and be entered by their NOC as set forth in Chapter XI of CACSO Statutes. ENTRIES AXIU NUBER O COPETITORS As per the quota established by CACSO, the ery competitions will have a maximum number of one hundred (100) athletes of both sexes. Each NOC may enter a maximum of twelve (12) athletes, provided they met the qualification criteria for ery for the XXIII Central American and Caribbean Games, Barranquilla 2018. Only NOCs recognized by CACSO, which National ederations are members of the International ederation, Pan American Confederation or the corresponding Regional Sports Organization, may enter to take part in the XXIII Central American and Caribbean Games Barranquilla 2018. ENTRY BY NUBER The Entry by Number forms, (which state the number of participants in each individual and team event), shall be delivered to the Organizing Committee of the XXIII Central American and Caribbean Games, 22 Compound Women s 22 23 Barranquilla 2018 no later than midnight (Barranquilla, Colombia time) on April 20, 2018 as established in CACSO Regulations, Chapter VIII. ENTRY BY NAE An Entry by Name form is required for each eligible participating athlete in the XXIII Central American and Caribbean Games, Barranquilla 2018. Entry by Name forms must be completed by each NOC and received by the Organizing Committee no later than midnight (Barranquilla, Colombia time) on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, as established in CACSO Regulations, Chapter VIII. In the second qualifying event, countries that have less than three qualified archers in a category during the first qualifying event, may participate with up to 4 archers to compete for the places they still haven t obtained. ers that won places for their country in Qualifying round 1 may not compete for new places in Qualifying round 2. QUALIYING OR TEA PARTICIPATION A country may participate by team in a category in the Games if it wins a place in the top 4 teams during the first qualifying event, or if it wins three individual places combined in both qualifying events. The number of individual places that a country can win in each qualifying event is three. The host country is guaranteed participation with one team in each category. APPROVAL O THE QUALIYING SYSTE The qualifying system was approved by the Executive Committee of World ery Americas and CACSO on October 25, 2015 and the same was notified to all the National ederations members of CACSO in Central America and the Caribbean. TECHNICAL EETING The technical meeting will take place on July 28, 2018 at a place and time to be confirmed. Up to two representatives from each NOC may attend this technical meeting. The Technical Delegate, the Head of Judging and the ery Competition anager of the Organizing Committee will chair the meeting, which will be in Spanish with English translation. Inspection of the archery equipment will take place on July 27 at the competition field at a time prior to the Technical eeting. Official practice will be on July 27 from 9:00 to 16:00 hours. TECHNICAL OICIALS World ery Americas will appoint the international or continental Judges, an ery Director and three members for the Jury of Appeals for the Central American and Caribbean Games, Barranquilla 2018. Appointments will made in December 2017. The number of Judges officiating during the Central American and Caribbean Games will be: Head Judge 1 Judges 8 ery Director 1 JURY O APPEALS The highest authority that makes decisions on technical appeals at the Central American and Caribbean Games is a Jury appointed for such purpose. APPEALS Appeals on decisions by one or several members of the Judge Commission must be addressed to the Chair Judge in writing, together with a US$50 fee or its equivalent in Colombian Pesos. The appeal will be delivered to the Head Judge who after reviewing it, will submit it to the Chair of Judges. If the appeal is accepted the fee will be returned. The jury s decision will be final. TARGET DRAW TEA EVENTS: irst place: A gold medal and a diploma for each of the athletes. Second place: A silver medal and a diploma for each of the athletes. Third place: A bronze medal and a diploma for each of the athletes. DOPING CONTROL Doping control shall be performed following the provisions of the CACSO edical Commission and World ery ederation Rules, in accordance with the standards and current version of the World Anti- Doping Agency procedures. The target draw will be done manually or electronically before the technical meeting. The Technical Delegate must be present at the draw. UNIORS AND SPORTS EQUIPENT 26 27 The Regulations of the Central American and Caribbean Games and the World ery ederation must be respected, as well as Chapter 5, Rule 51 of the IOC where is set forth the rules for NOCs regarding the use of Registered Trademarks by manufacturers as to the regulatory measures for the use of apparel, sports equipment, as well as for all types of accessories used during the Games with the regulatory dimensions. Sports equipment that will be used during the competitions shall have a valid World ery certification for international events. EDAL CEREONY edal ceremonies will take place in accordance with Chapter XIII of CASCO regulations INDIVIDUAL EVENTS: irst place: Gold medal and diploma Second place: Silver medal and diploma Third place: Bronze medal and diploma VENUE The ery competition will take place at the Track and ield Estadio Luilio Gonzalez in Barranquilla.
