All troupe members are asked to show respect for others as well as demonstrate honor and humility. Attendance for All Troupe Members It is very important for our Troupe members to please be considerate when you miss classes/practices. We all get sick, please stay at home and get well as being at the studio is not beneficial to anyone. If you have a school event, family function or other excused absence, you are responsible to find out what you missed. You may ask a teacher, or another student in the Troupe. Should you miss TOO many classes and if effects the choreography, you could be moved around in the dance. If your absences become excessive, you will have a sit down with the choreographer and owner to discuss the situation. Respect for All Troupe Members Respect should be shown at ALL times to teachers, staff and other students as well as parents, including your own. Parents are also expected to be respectful to the students as well as other parents. Always Dancing will not tolerate negative talking about parents, students, etc. Please keep the drama at home. If there are issues that arise, please speak with the studio owner immediately.
Social Media Please only post pictures of your child unless you have permission of the child s parent. The studio has media releases from some but not all children. Posting videos of dances before they are complete is not allowable. We ask that no videos be posted until the dance is stage ready. Performance Troupe What is the Performance Troupe all about? The Performance Troupe is designed for dancers who want just a little more and who have a desire to give back to their community. Being part of the Performance Troupe will start to give increased confidence and stage presence along with a sense of teamwork. Competitions Performance Locations We will try to keep all performance local to our studio. There will be opportunities to entertain the elderly, community members and other marketing events which may present themselves throughout the year. What are competitions all about? Competitions are truly just that, a competition. You are there to compete with other dancers, be better all around with costumes, music and choreography. You are there to showcase yourself. Competition also builds character, accountability, stage presence, pushes you to your limits and challenges you as a dancer. It is asked that you show a better you each time you walk onto the stage. What is it that you see in competitions? What do you wish to accomplish? Do you want a trophy? Extra costumes? Travel fun? Judge critiques? The owner needs to know why you choose competition and you need to know why you chose it. Your expectations should be both clear and truthful. Competition Locations We try to keep travel to competition locations limited to less than 2 hours. There are many competitions in the Lancaster/Baltimore area that are reputable entities. All competitions vary in duration but the entire weekend of competition (Friday Sunday) should be reserved once dates are announced. It is best to play to stay overnight, not only will you then not be late for call times but you will also enable your dancer to build both lasting friendships and memories with their team. A call time will be announced so that all dancers are at the event at the same time to show unity and support but to also be ready to take the stage at competition. Times will vary depending on competition and assigned times of the dances.
Parent s Financial Commitments Fees charges are only for one dance year on the Troupe. Any fees that are charged are the responsibility of the dancer/family and will be non refundable. Competition choreography fees must be paid as follows: ½ due at the time of the first rehearsal and the remaining balance due at the last rehearsal which finalizes the choreography prior to refinement. Competition dances can be started in the summer but will be finished no later than Thanksgiving break. Competition registration fees will be due once we commit to a competition schedule. **A team calendar will be made so that information, payment due dates and other important information can be found in one convenient location and easily accessed. All fees must be paid in full or the dancer will not be allowed to take the stage or perform at the event. Troupe fees are non refundable for any reason unless it is due to serious injury or serious illness. Should a serious injury or serious illness arise, Always Dancing must receive a letter from the parent/guardian requesting the need to withdraw from the Troupe, otherwise full tuition will still be due. If the dancer decides to leave the Troupe or is asked to leave, for any reason, after the signed Commitment Form is received, all costs and expenses must still be paid in full. In the event that legal action is needed due to non payment of funds, the non prevailing party in any dispute under this agreement shall pay all costs and expenses, including expert witness fees and attorneys' fees, incurred by the prevailing party in resolving such dispute. This agreement shall be governed by and in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Additional costs include: makeup, special hair requirements, props, specific tights and shoe expenses. We work hard to keep these costs as low as possible. Any additional fees that are incurred will be announced as soon as possible. All of the stated requirements/commitments should be carefully considered and discussed by both the dancer and parents before considering a position in the Troupe. Please keep in mind that being part of a dance team requires the same, if not more of a commitment as a sport in school would be. Membership in the Always Dancing Troupe is a privilege and not a right. Audition results will be emailed on September 28th.
Please return this signed form and commitment fee, no later than September 20, 2018, to indicate that you understand the expectations and payment obligations. No Late Forms will be accepted.
