RE-X-platform Lynx sleds are the only sleds on the market offering a bevelled tunnel, which allows relaxed riding in a standing position. Thanks to the narrow seat and fuel tank, your feet are closer to each other in a more natural position which facilitates the balance of the rider in sports riding and decreases riding fatigue. 29 PPS SUSPENSION (Pauli Piippola Suspension) The triumph of the rear suspension system developed in co-operation with the snowcross champion commenced in Lynx Rave and Xtrim models are equipped with the PPS suspension, which has convinced snowmobile riders of its superior functions. The PPS suspension system together with the A-arm front suspension ensures optimum steering response and sufficient spring travel also for two riders. 29

30 SHOCK ABSORBERS KYB shocks have been optimised for the demanding Nordic trails and they endure even the hardest of rides. Rave sleds have low speed and high speed damping quick adjustment and rebound damping quick adjustment. Shocks are fully rebuildable and adjustable, which allows every rider to find the most suitable damping for their purposes. FRONT SUSPENSION The light-weight A-LFS front suspension system, together with rebuildable, fully adjustable highquality KYB shock absorbers allows you to match the front suspension of your sled to your own riding style. 30

31 GAUGE SYSTEM Our gauge system puts you in constant command of all vital functions. And it doesn t stop there, with everything from an analog and digital speedometer and tachometer with digital LCD odometer/trip-meter, to pilot/indicator lights integrated into analog gauge faces. Multifunction switch The multifunction switch allows you to control a number of your sled s functions using only your thumb. The switch includes electric start, reverse, light switch, control for multifunction instrument cluster and adjustment for heated grips. 31

32 Concentration guarantees success You won t find any old engine roaring under the hood of the new Lynx snowmobiles. Since the 1960 s, Rotax expertise has been firmly applied to snowmobile engines. As these engines have been developed for driving recreational vehicles, you can be quite certain they provide precisely what is required. BRP-Rotax has already manufactured over six million engines. The company produces two and four-stroke engines for Lynx with a horsepower range of The direction of BRP-Rotax product development is clear: they want to provide the snowmobiling population of the world with engines that are extremely economic and as eco-friendly as possible. The Rotax engines are suitable for recreation, races demanding extreme performance and for the most demanding of work tasks. ROTAX 593 HO SDI The engines equipped with the SDI technology (Semi-Direct Injection) are very economical. Low fuel consumption is not the only benefit provided by the SDI engine technology, as SDI engines are also immensely powerful and have great performance. The digital injection system measures out precisely the right amount of fuel directly into the intake channels of each cylinder. At the same time the exhaust ports are closed, so fuel is used efficiently and no unused fuel is released into nature. The emissions of these two-stroke SDI engines are up to half those of more traditional two-stroke engines, and according to tests performed by professional publications, the emissions are even less than our competitors four-stroke machines. This is why the Rotax SDI engines conform to the strict EPA 2008 environmental standards. 32

33 ROTAX 797 R POWER TEK The extremely powerful Rotax 797 R Power TEK engine was first introduced for the 2008 range in Lynx sports and Crossover models. This lightweight, new generation two-stroke engine produces an astonishing 151 horsepower making it the most powerful 800cc and 900cc class snowmobile on the market. ECM (Engine Control Module) electrically adjusts the electronic RAVE valve solenoid, which significantly improves fuel economy, reduces exhaust emissions and enhances engine reliability. The DPM system (Digital Performance Management) ensures optimal engine operation in all conditions. The Rotax 797 R Power TEK conforms to the strict EPA 2008 environmental standards. ROTAX V-810 The two-cylinder, four-stroke, Rotax V-810 engine, specially developed for snowmobiling, is held in high regard and deservedly so. This four-stroke power pack used in Lynx snowmobiles is relentless and quiet, making it the optimal choice for touring and utility use. It is also eco-friendly and requires almost no servicing. The NER value indicating the EPA emissions of Rotax V-810 is zero. ROTAX 593 HO E-TEC The Rotax 593 HO E-TEC was launched in model year 2009 and has already become a legend. The durable and reliable direct injection operation of the engine is based on BRP s E-TEC technology, which has already achieved great acclaim with the Evinrude outboard engines. The engine provides torque and power throughout the power bands, and it has lightning fast reactions to the movements of the throttle. Thanks to the 3D RAVE valve, fuel combustion is now more even and cleaner, and consumption is lower. This is indeed the most environmentally friendly and fuel economic two-stroke engine on the market: its fuel and oil consumption are the lowest on the market and it is even more environmentally friendly than most four-stroke engines. In practice, the E-TEC engine is smoke and smell free, and starts easily even when cold. Even idling is very smooth. The practicality of the E-TEC engine is enhanced by its handy servicing function: at the press of a single button the Rotax 593 HO E-TEC is ready for summer storage in about two minutes. ROTAX TEC The Rotax TEC engine (130 hp) is particularly designed for snowmobiles. Its key features include light weight, good cold starting properties, low emissions, wide power band and smooth running of the engine. The engine directly descends from the high-performance Rotax engines that also power other leading powersports vehicles such as BMW, Aprilia and Buell motorcycles. The new motor is equipped with an electronic fuel injection system and its power band is wider than that of our competitors corresponding models. There is plenty of torque throughout the entire power band (119 Nm / 7,500 rev/min), thanks to which the engine delivers good acceleration. The Rotax TEC is ideal for both touring and sporty trail riding. The NER value indicating the EPA emissions of the engine is zero. 33
