I need to perform a little maintenance on mine. I ve got the parts but ever since they came in the mail it has been way too cold do install them. My garage is unfortunately not heated, and I ll probably run out of time before it gets warm again and my buddy and my schedules work together. So, with that being said, I ll just take it to my buddies at the Hot Rod Shop to complete it. I mean I can do it, but it would take me much longer than it will them. Besides, I need to get my estimate for paint and body to have it ready for the 2015 show season. I have complained quite a bit this week, as we had 3 days in a row with below freezing temperatures, ice and then snow.and although the roads are mostly clear now, we are expecting more of the same tomorrow just in time for the weekend. I will admit, I do miss Texas when it comes to this type of climate, however, I m very thankful I don t live in the North East or elsewhere that is buried in snow or very cold weather. After all this type of weather is not very conducive to driving our cars! It is called the Chattanooga Cruise-In, it started out as an open house at Coker Tire and Honest Charley Speed Shop now it s a cool laid back car show right in the heart of downtown Chattanooga,

3 It is called the Chattanooga Cruise-In, it started out as an open house at Coker Tire and Honest Charley Speed Shop now it s a cool laid back car show right in the heart of downtown Chattanooga, Tennessee! All the streets surrounding Coker Tire and Honest Charley s are closed off which allows hundreds of hot rods, cool customs, muscle cars and trucks to come in an enjoy a day of rest and relaxation in the hot rod world! This is currently a one day event that features an open house at Coker Tire and Honest Charley Speed Shop and has two versions, a Spring Cruise-In and this one here the Fall version! 5 This is one cool hotrod. Check out the mile deep black paint, the red pinstripe and the polished 5 spokes! Simply Classy!!! I think I like two-toned Tri-5 pickups a bit better than ones that are only a single color. Tons of custom touchs all rolling on modern sized polished 5 spoke hoops! 8 9

6 This Tri-5 has a killer stance and is very bright with red and white twotone paint. The engine compartment is spotless and the interior has been modernized a bit but still looks very classy!

7 This is one cool Plymouth. That color is very elegant, the steelies match the color and the interior perfectly. Here is proof that you can take an early 60 s station wagon, give it a slammed stance and add some large hoops and have a cool cruiser!

8 Here is a cool little 5 Window Coupe with jet black paint, polished Americans and 3 deuces for power! The interior is decked out in bright red leather, has some cool gauges and is on fire!!!

9 I never thought that when these cars were originally produced that they would ever look this cool. It just goes to show you how creative people are in this hobby of ours! Ther interior has an all original appearence except the steering wheel and some aftermarket gauges!

10 This is one cool MOPAR! I love the Sublime Green color with black graphics, 440 MOPAR!!!!! Honest Charley Speed & Custom front row parking. Hopefully next year I can get their early enough to part out front!

11 All different shapes and sizes came out this nice fall day to play in downtown Chatanooga! (top) Coker Tire helped sponsor the show and has some of the best rubber on the planet! (bottom) Smooth 5 Window Ford!!

12 This cool little roadster had no shortage of motorvation with a Buick Nailhead for power!! The interior had a touch of old air craft with some distressed leather covering the seats! WAY COOL!!!

13 Traditional Kustom Merc purists may not appreciate what we have here but I ll have something for them in an upcoming issue! Not a Merc gauge cluster, but is till cool none the less. Check out the remainder of the interior...nice!!!!

16 I really like the interior of this trucks, plane and simple and the new wood in the bed is just right and the finish matches the rest of the theme! They don t always have to have shiny paint on them do they? I think not! Check out the stance and the polished Americans!

17 Here we see two different tri-5 s with differing opinions of how things are supposed to be!! Neither of them are wrong! Both are AWE- SOME! I m beginning to see more and more white hot rods of various makes and models. Do I see a trend? this one has ghost flames!

18 The interior is a perfect match as is the nicely done wood bed with what appears to be body colored stainless hardware. This F-100 is simply stunning with it s mile deep purple paint

Please feel free to share your bench race session wtih the readers by ing: benchracing@wolfmotorsportsmagazine.com Choosing the right paint color As all of you out there in Hot Rod Land know, choosing the right paint color is the most important choice you have to make for your ride next to wheel selection. As you know if you make the wrong color choice or wheel choice it can make or break the look! My first car was a 71 Nova SS and it left the factory with that infamous lime green color, which I loved! It was an easy choice of what color to go with when I had that car repainted. Even though it wasn t probably the first choice of many, it was mine! It was a color that at that time wasn t very popular! So, with that being said there wasn t many of them around or even at the shows back then. Now my car is a 67 Impala SS and it was originally covered in Butternut Yellow. While this color is factory, it is certainly not the one I want on my car. Now the car is a shade of purple that once was full of shine and void of any imperfections, however, there were years where the car had to set out in the elements rendering it a purple primer now and has received the nickname of Barney. As the car has grown up from its younger years and will be known for high end class, modern performance and holding some other modern touches while still retaining the classic B-Body lines, the car will be going to paint very soon and will likely still be known as Barney but will emerge a more classic, elegant and refined Barney.
