4 THE 2019 RACE SEASON! Get ready for another adrenaline-packed race season with Masters! We ll be providing you with the best racing opportunities at leading historic racing events across the globe! Our 2019 calendar welcomes some outstanding new race weekends joining some old favourites on an exciting calendar through Europe and North America. In Europe, we will focus on our five core categories in a busy 2019 season. The ever-popular FIA Masters Historic Formula One Championship and FIA Masters Historic Sports Car Championship will be joined by the ground-breaking Aston Martin Masters Endurance Legends series, along with the entertainmentheadliners, Gentlemen Drivers Pre-66 GT series and Masters Pre-66 Touring Cars series, loved by fans. In North America, it s the crowd-pleasing Masters Historic Formula One USA and exciting new Masters Endurance Legends USA. We know that there will be something for everyone in EUROPEAN CALENDAR Our European calendar action starts with Formula 1 Circuit, Paul Ricard, in March, followed by an opportunity for the Aston Martin Masters Endurance Legends to showcase on the European Le Mans Series stage, at Monza, in May. Following that, we head to Brands for our signature Masters Historic Festival in late May before making welcome returns to Donington and Magny Cours in June. If that isn t enough to satisfy your senses, from July, the calendar builds up even more excitement, with visits to the top historic racing events in Europe at Silverstone (including the Rolex Formula 1 British Grand Prix and the Silverstone Classic), Nurburgring, Zandvoort and a grand finale at Spa in September. NORTH AMERICAN CALENDAR In North America, our Masters Historic Formula One USA is joined Stateside by the brand-new Masters Endurance Legends USA series. With exciting new, loved and wellknown venues to add to the mix, this is going to be a year to remember in North America! We have a stunning 6-race schedule to look forward to with stops at Sonoma, Mont Tremblant, Road America, a double-header at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca culminating in support races to the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix for both American grids at the Circuit of the Americas in November! The Masters Endurance Legends USA also have the opportunity to race at Daytona and Sebring at the end of the season courtesy of an invitation from our friends at HSR MASTERS MEMBERSHIP The Masters European Membership fee for 2019 will will be 495. As always, whether you are racing one car or several cars during a season, the Masters Membership fee covers you to race in any Masters races during the season. 5 FIA MASTERS HISTORIC FORMULA ONE CHAMPIONSHIP About. If you race or would love to race a Formula One car from the 3-litre era then this is the series for you! The FIA Masters Historic Formula One Championship is the ultimate place for Formula One cars of a golden age, recreating racing as it used to be, in period. Whether you re racing or enjoying the sounds, sights and drama unfold as a fan, it s a treat to enjoy from all angles. Catering for 3-litre engined Formula One cars from 1966 through to 1985, FIA Masters Historic Formula One takes us back to an era in which Cosworth DFV power and a creative car designer could win races, long before wind tunnels and energy drinks were created! With a year-based class structure named after the iconic F1 names of Stewart, Fittipaldi, Lauda and Head, the aim is to give all entrants someone to race against. Mike Cantillon clinched 3rd place at the final round! 2018 Highlights. The 2018 FIA Masters Historic Formula One Championship put on a great show at each of its 8 rounds during the season with some breathtaking racing! In the non-ground effect Fittipaldi and Stewart Championship, the ever-determined Greg Thornton wrapped up the Championship after a season that put his fullcommitment to the test! Having to swap his trusty Lotus 77 for a March 761 mid-season, Thornton wrapped up the season after Zandvoort amounting 102 points on his way to the title. Jason Wright (Shadow DN8) finished 2nd after competing in 6 rounds and taking 2 overall class wins en-route. Max Smith-Hilliard (Fittipaldi F5A) finished 3rd after a concerted effort in the early part of the season for 4 races. Champion Greg Thornton celebrates in style In the post-78 Championship it was a Williams Nick Padmore was dominant in 2018 taking 9 overall race wins at the 5 rounds he competed in. Nick and the Williams FW07 seemed to be in perfect harmony throughout 2018, hardly missing a beat, taking 97 points during the competitive season. Christophe D Ansembourg put in some stellar performances to finish 2nd overall in his Williams, taking overall race wins at Nürburgring and Spa. The ever-improving Mike Cantillon clinched the 3rd place at the final round at Dijon in October. Jason Wright was The Grand Master Jason Wright was crowned as The Grand Master for 2018, taking the honours in this new Championship to recognise the years of support and enthusiasm the senior drivers have given to Masters and our sport as a whole. Joaquin Folch Rusinol was second and Andrew Beaumont was third. Greg Thornton and his Lotus 77 at Imola Coming up in 2019 We have a packed schedule in Europe and North America, with some exciting Formula One support races in the line-up. 6 FIA MASTERS HISTORIC SPORTS CAR CHAMPIONSHIP About. Do you race a historic sports car? Or maybe you ve always wanted to experience it? The FIA Masters Historic Sports Car Championship is all about showcasing endurance sports car racing as it used to be! It s a race series filled with wheel to wheel, down to the wire action. And you never know who s going to take that podium! Up for the challenge? GENTLEMEN DRIVERS About. If you enjoy pace, skill and team strategy in your racing, this series is for you! Whisk yourself back to GT racing pre-1966 The Gentlemen Drivers series harks back to an era of endurance racing filled with variety and famous marques such as Aston Martin, Jaguar, AC, Porsche, Ferrari, MG, Morgan and TVR racing against Chevrolet, Ford, Austin Healey, Alfa Romeo, Triumph and Lotus. Catering for Le Mans-style sports cars and Group 4 period cars from 1962 up to 1974, the FIA Masters Historic Sports Car Championship make for a superb sight, with the big-bangers battling with the smaller-engined sports prototypes and GT cars. Chevrons take on Porsche, Lola and Ferrari, with Osella, Coldwell and Ford all represented on the ground-shaking grid. Julian Thomas & Calum Lockie had a great season With one or two drivers per car, pit stops and longer race durations, Gentlemen Drivers offers a fabulous spectacle as pace and team strategy unfolds towards the chequered flag. With a class structure split by year and engine capacity, in doubledriver pit stop races where exciting racing, big grids and a great variety of cars go hand in hand. Andy Wolfe was dominant in the AC Cobra 2018 Highlights. The 2018 FIA Masters Historic Sports Car Championship saw many thrilling races over its 8-race schedule, keeping everyone guessing with 6 different teams taking the top step of the podium during the season! And that was just for the overall positions, the class battles throughout the field certainly kept spectators on the edge of their seats as the Championship went down to the wire at the last round at Dijon! It was a nail-biting final round at Dijon as both Julian Thomas and Calum Lockie (Chevron B8) and Jamie Boot (Chevron B16) went into the final race with their eyes set on the Championship.It was Thomas and Lockie who came out on top, taking the Championship victory with 42 points gained from their 5 rounds and class wins at 4 of those. The omnipresent Jamie Boot just missed out, taking second place, after a season where he competed at all 8 races in his trusty Chevron, taking a Class win at the Nurburgring. It was a tussle of the mighty Lola T70 Mk3b s for 3rd place too, Jason Wright, Leo Voyazides and Simon Hadfield both ending up on 36 points. Amidst all this, reigning champions Keith Ahlers and Billy Bellinger easily defended their crown, successfully taking their Cooper Monaco King Cobra to five wins on their way to the Hulme Class Championship. Chris Jolly and Steve Farthing put up a great fight to take 2nd place in their Cooper Monaco T61M but missed out by just 8 points in the end. Coming in 3rd place in the Hulme Class Championship was Michel Smits, his early season promise faded after the engine on his Lola T70 Spyder let go at Zandvoort, ruling him out of the final 2 rounds. Jamie Boot was so nearly Champion! 2018 Highlights. The Gentlemen Drivers once again saw some epic battles for pre- 66 GT car honours. Bumper grids saw Cobras, Ferraris, Bizzarrinis, E-Types, Elans and other famous marques ubiquitous to endurance racing battle for overall honours throughout a busy 8-race season. Andy Wolfe put in some stunning drives in the AC Cobra to scoop the crown, taking six outright wins in a superb season. Newcomer, Rob Fenn, made the switch to historic Lotuses and snatched second in the series aboard his Lotus Elan taking three outright wins against the more powerful cars, while joint third were Keith Ahlers & Billy Bellinger and Michael Gans. Keith and Billy, the 2017 champions, who skipped the Dijon event due to damage at a non-masters event to the beautiful SLR, while American driver Michael Gans drove in most races with Andy Wolfe and benefitted from his rapid co-driver s tutelage to take three outright wins in the snaking Cobra. Coming up in 2019 This grid has a superb line-up for The Masters Three Hours is back for 2019, a real highlight for the year, that gives cars in the Gentlemen Drivers series, a chance to really stretch their legs, in a 3-Hour race at Donington Park in June. This is just one of many races to look forward to this year! Taking the podium in Zandvoort! In The Grand Master Trophy, Keith Ahlers was triumphant from Jamie Boot in 2nd place and a tied Jason Wright and Leo Voyazides in 3rd. Keith Ahlers & Billy Bellinger had another great season Gans and Wolfe took the win at Most in June Coming up in 2019 Lots of races in this grid for 2019 in the UK and European calendar. The Spa Six Hours is one of the many highlights this year and the place to be in September, for a Sports Car racing spectacle. It s an event that s all about the driver and the Masters community where the FIA Masters Sports Car Championship always fields a bumper grid of thundering historic sports cars! Chris Jolly & Steve Farthing took 2nd place in the Hulme Trophy Rob Fenn had a great year in his Lotus Elan 10 11

7 MASTERS PRE-66 TOURING CARS ASTON MARTIN MASTERS ENDURANCE LEGENDS About. Masters Pre-66 Touring cars is all about Touring car racing as it used to be, 60s-style. If you love retro touring cars, with all of their old-school stories, excitement and fun, you ll love to race in this series! Minis take on Mustangs here! Rules?...What rules?! The Masters Pre-66 Touring cars are the ultimate crowd-pleaser! With grids containing road-going mass production saloons built prior to 1966, Masters Pre-66 Touring Cars has everything from the mighty V8 Yank Tanks to humble Minis, all raced spectacularly in mini-endurance races with pit stops for one or two drivers. With a class structure broken into engine size, Ford Falcons take on Mustangs, Lotus Cortinas tackle the BMW TiSAs and Minis super Coopers three-wheel their way to success Highlights. The 2018 season was a great one for the Masters Pre-66 Touring Cars where the grids seemed to grow from previous seasons. The usual big-banger V8s took on the Mini Coopers and Lotus Cortinas in some epic battles. Mike Gardiner shared his mighty Ford Falcon Sprint with Andy Wolfe and the two stormed to six ground-shaking wins in their Yank Tank, to fend off the challenge from Lotus Cortina specialist Mark Martin. The Lotus enthusiast shared the Cortina with Andrew Haddon on most occasions although he drove solo on two occasions, hence the single capture of the runner s-up spot. Class wins at Imola, Spa and Dijon all fell to Martin in an impressive season. Former Mini Miglia champion, Ian Curley, made a welcome addition to the Masters Historic Racing grid, along with his co-driver Bill Sollis. They took two class wins, at Imola and Zandvoort, with their Austin Mini Cooper S in a class full of tough opposition. Mark Martin & Andrew Haddon celebratingt at Spa! Ian Curley was 3rd and first Mini in 2018 About. Enjoy the thrill, teamwork and sense of achievement from a testing, lengthy race? Then you ll love this series! The latest addition to the Masters Historic Racing portfolio, Aston Martin Masters Endurance Legends, caters for all cars that were eligible to enter the major endurance racing events from inclusive. With Prototype and GT race cars from this period featuring at North America and Europe s premier venues, this is a unique new series that gives home to the huge number of cars in existence. For 2019 we are proud to welcome Aston Martin as the official automotive partner of Masters Historic Racing and title sponsor of the Masters Endurance Legends series. Aston Martin Masters Endurance Legends aims to attract all cars that were eligible to enter the Le Mans 24 Hours or any of its feeder series (FIA Sports Car Championship, IMSA, Sports Racing World Cup, International Sports Racing Series, FIA World Endurance Championship, LMES, ELMS, ALMS, ILMC) between inclusive. Hybrid cars are not eligible. The series is split into three main eras of cars; , and Each era is also split into four categories for Prototype 1, Prototype 2, GT1 & GT2 in order to cater for the differing types of cars, giving everyone an opportunity to race for awards Highlights was the first full season for the Masters Endurance Legends category, with the series wowing fans across Europe. The overall winner was Canadian driver Keith Frieser, who flew in for each event. A consistent presence in his Oreca FLM09, Keith replaced it with an LMP2-specification Oreca 03 for the final event of the season. Four class wins fell to the flying Canadian in an impressive campaign. Ralph Meichtry won at Dijon Travis Engen competed in every race in 2018 Coming up in 2019 One of the highlights you won t want to miss is the chance to race your Pre-66 Touring car at the Silverstone Classic! We have even more capacity for Tin Top racing fun this year as we have on offer the Transatlantic Trophy for Pre-66 Touring cars as well as a dedicated race for Pre-66 Appendix K Minis to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of this well-loved British icon! Experienced modern and historic sports car racer Steve Tandy was a welcome returnee to the Masters Historic Racing ranks, bagging four class wins and three overall wins in his Lola B12/60 on his way to second in the series. Completing the top three was American racer Travis Engen. Another long-distance traveller, the American driver flew in for each event to race his iconic Audi R8 LMP1 chassis. Mike Gardiner & Andy Wolfe got plenty of silverware After the success of the 2018 season, new dates and invitations introduced for 2019 and tremendous interest in this new generation of historic motorsport from competitors and fans alike, the future looks very bright for Aston Martin Masters Endurance Legends. Steve Tandy in his Lola B12/60 Mike Gardiner & Andy Wolfe made a great team in the Ford Falcon Coming up in 2019 This year the Aston Martin Masters Endurance Legends series will build on last year s success with visits to Paul Ricard, Magny Cours, Silverstone, Nürburgring and Spa, plus the legendary Monza circuit in a support race for the European Le Mans Series. 8 MASTERS HISTORIC FORMULA ONE USA About. Masters Historic Formula One USA raises the profile of the 3-litre era of Formula 1 Stateside, showcasing these iconic cars at some of the great North American circuits that echo back to the halcyon days of Grand Prix racing. With a loyal following of cars and drivers from America and Europe, the racing is emotive and competitive! 2018 Highlights. The North American season kicked off at a new venue at the end of July; Portland International Raceway! Ethan Shippert (Brabham BT42) and Cal Meeker (Tyrrell 009) started their seasons off with a win-a-piece. The double header weekends on the Monterey peninsula came next, providing some great racing under unbroken sunshine. Charles Nearburg was the man to beat for the Pre-Reunion but young whipper-snapper Matteo Ferrer-Aza (Ligier JS11/15) upset the apple-kart, taking both wins for the Reunion weekend. The season rounded out at Sonoma in October with Steve Romak taking his maiden wins in his Tyrrell 012. Charles Nearburg was as quick as ever Coming up in 2019 The 2019 season is a bumper one for Masters Historic Formula One USA with the chance to take a snapshot of Formula 1 venues of past and present. On July 12/14 the stunning Mont Tremblant circuit, which hosted the Canadian GPs of 1968 and 1970, will show the drivers what an old-style circuit is like before purpose-built Circuit of the Americas plays host on November 1-3. Masters Endurance Legends USA is a new series for Masters in Seizing on the popularity of the Masters Endurance Legends European season in 2018, Masters Endurance Legends USA will cater for a broad range of cars and show case endurance races from the Group C era of 1982 right up to their modern equivalents of Steven Read Ferrari F40 Cars will be eligible to race in Masters Endurance Legends USA if they entered the Le Mans 24 Hours in period or any of its feeder series (FIA Sports Car Championship, IMSA, Sports Racing World Cup, International Sports Racing Series, FIA World Endurance Championship (2012 to 2016), LMES, ELMS, ALMS, ILMC) between inclusive. Also, IMSA EXXON World Sports Cars (1994 to 2002), Grand-Am Road Racing Series (2003 to 2013) and Group C (1982 to 1993) will also be able to join in the fun! Hybrid cars are not eligible.
