While traditional short disks utilize 18-20" diameter disc blades, the aggressive Short Disk is designed to endure high-residue field conditions with 24" diameter discs to cut the ground up to 7" deep, maximizing trash flow and leaving a smooth finish on both the top and bottom. With the speed and maneuverability of European disks, the Short Disk accurately follows uneven ground contours for consistent performance in varying field conditions. Its roller adjusts hydraulically from the tractor cab to either increase or decrease the consolidation pressure to firm the soil to the desired degree. In contrast to other parallel gang machines, the Short Disk s blades split center, throwing out from the front and in from the back, to prevent dog tracking and ensure a consistent cutout throughout the field. Roots in a top, lower-density layer are turned sideways when a higherdensity layer is encountered. Vertical tillage leaves a uniform, unrestricted soil profile that promotes maximum root development and increased yields. Plants raised in a vertical tillage system are more drought resistant, reach and utilize more nutrients, and have greater standability due to healthier stalks and root systems. The Great Plains Heavy-Duty Flex Harrow is the toughest finishing harrow on the market! We use a triangle design with a full-length tongue, height-adjustable hitch, and doubled-up bridge frame for rigidity. The center frame is all 1/4" wall steel, making it perfect for nearly any terrain. The wings are constructed of 6" square tubing with reinforced corners. For longer life and wear, our 1-1/2" pivot pins are featured on the main pivot and wing corners. Extra-large cylinders with single valve control provide lifting and folding power even in heavy residue. Cable lift is automatic no need to get off the tractor to adjust. The main hubs are 8-bolt, 4500# with 12.5Lx15 transport tires. Wing tires are nonpuncture aircraft tires for longer stability and reliability. Available as a 16-, 12-, or 8-bar.
