Encouraging all the children Volunteering to help If you have any questions or issues, approach a committee member before or after the game and we will help you as much as we can. OFFICIALS: Encourage the children to: Play by the rules Enjoy themselves Participate Respect and appreciate their opponents Be consistent, objective and courteous when making decisions Emphasize the spirit of the game Be available to answer questions before and after the game Explain decisions Condemn unsporting behaviour and promote respect for all participants Be a good sport yourself. Action speaks louder than words so enjoy yourself, be fair and communicate with the children, coaches and parents. Remember that you set an example. Your behaviour and comments should be positive and supportive. Encouraging all the children Involve as many parents as possible and encourage them to take on all roles, including umpiring. Compliment and encourage all participants. Give ALL children equal opportunities to participate. Ensure that rules, equipment, length of games and training schedule suit the age, ability and maturity level of all participants. Emphasize fair play, not winning at all costs If you have any questions or issues, approach a committee member before or after the game and we will help you as much as we can.

4 UNIFORMS: Forrestfield Flyers Teeball Club Game Day These are to be worn for the game only - NOT TO, OR FROM, THE GAME Please do not use zinc cream on the children as this stains the uniforms. We STRONGLY encourage you to use sunscreen. These uniforms are provided by our sponsors so please support their businesses. Children are not permitted to wear jewelry while playing or training. This rule excludes medic alert bracelets. GAMES: A regulation teeball game shall be of nine innings or time limit allotted, which ever comes first. No even innings shall commence within five minutes of the scheduled finishing time. Once an innings has commenced it must be played to completion, which is both sides must bat. Please ensure that all games start and finish on time. Home teams are listed first in the fixture book and occupy the first base line, set up the diamond and field first. They also need to supply a plate umpire. Away teams are listed second in the fixture book and occupy third base line and bat first. They also supply the base umpire. BENCHES, SHADES & UMBRELLAS: Teams in the first timeslot are responsible for putting out the benches and sun shelters on their relevant diamonds. Teams in the final timeslot please ensure that you put your benches and sun shelters away. PLAYING RULES: A player must occupy a different position after each second innings. No player can re-occupy that same position in that game. Players must not change fielding position in an innings unless injured. A player must not sit out twice in a game unless all other players have sat out once. In the first four innings a player must play at least once in an infield and at least once in an outfield position. No player in the sub-junior competition may be run down by the pitcher whilst attempting to run to first base. The committee strongly urges all coaches to rotate all players through the nine fielding positions. FIRST AID: The association has a first aid box which will be situated at the clubrooms.

5 CLUB MEETINGS: Our club holds meetings on the first Wednesday of every month at the Reid Oval club rooms. Start time is 7.30pm and it is compulsory for all teams to have a representative attend. This representative must be someone not currently on the committee. This is an excellent opportunity to have a say in how our club is run. PARENTS NEEDED: In order for our club to run smoothly we need the committee and parents to work closely together. For this reason we are asking parents to help with Coaching, Umpiring, Base Coaching, Scoring and in the Canteen. Even if you are unsure how to do any of these activities we are only too happy to teach you. You do NOT need any qualifications for these positions. The club will provide training and support. The kids all get a huge boost of enthusiasm whenever there is parent participation. So if you are able to help in anyway or are interested in finding out more details, please come and see anyone on the committee. We look forward to a great season with lots of fun and friendship.
