2 GENERAL INFORMATION AND RULES Council Meetings Randwick Netball Association Inc. will hold Council Meetings at the Control Centre, Heffron Park, Fitzgerald Avenue, Maroubra, at 7.30 pm on Wednesday, 11 April, Wednesday, 20 June and Wednesday, 22 August All Clubs must be represented at the meeting - only two delegates from each club are entitled to vote. A fine of $50 and a loss of 1 competition point per team will be imposed for non attendance at meetings. The fine must be paid before any team takes the court the following Saturday. Annual General Meeting The Annual General Meeting will be held Fees payable to Randwick Netball Association Inc Senior Players - $155 Junior Players (11-17 Years)- $140 Net-Set-Go Years - $120 Net-Set-Go - $65 Non-Players - $45 Team Officials - $45 Metro League - $500 (an additional $60 if playing in A Grade Competition) plus uniform Night Inter-District - $150 (if played in current season) Night Inter-District - $230 (new player who did not play in current season plus uniform) Duration of Games Net-Set-Go Junior Grades Intermediate 1/2 & 3 Intermediate 4,5,6,7,8 Senior Grades Times of Games 8.30, 9.48 am, am 8.30 am, 9.48 am, am & pm pm 1.42 pm & 3.05 pm 1.42 pm & 3.05 pm Semi Finals, Final and Grand Finals Semi-Finals - Saturday, 1 September 2018 Final - Saturday, 8 September 2018 Grand Final - Saturday, 15 September 2018 Please note if Round 14 (Saturday, 25 August 2018) is cancelled due to wet weather these games will be played on Saturday, 1 September 2018 so therefore the semi-finals, final and grand final will be put back one week. Grand Finals In Grand Finals if the score is even at the end of the game: Teams shall be Joint Premiers in the Junior Competition Teams will change ends immediately and play 5 minutes extra each way in the Senior and Intermediate Competition. If the score is even after the completion of the extra time, play will continue until a team scores two consecutive goals.

3 Wet Weather Cancellations - (Refer Wet Weather Policy on Website) This will be published on the website on the day of play. Only Club Secretaries are requested to contact an Executive Member if necessary. (d) (e) (f) If play ceases before half time the match shall be considered abandoned and no points awarded. If the game is called off at or after half-time, the scores will stand and the team with the highest score will be declared the winner. The score at the time the match is abandoned is taken to be the final score. In the event that games are cancelled or called off before half-time, matches will be rescheduled to a forward date. These games will be half (1/2) hour games. If two or more rounds are cancelled consecutively, the half games would be scheduled forward with all rounds to be played. If round 14 games are cancelled, then they will be played the following week and therefore will delay the final series by a week. During the final series, wet weather games may be played Sunday. Additional Registrations / Deletions Additional registration fees are shown in Fees for All additional registration forms must be: Deletions Authorised and submitted by Club Secretaries or their authorised delegate. Sent to randwick.addforms@gmail.com and must be submitted on-line before 6.00 pm on the Thursday before the following Saturday. New registrations once completed on-line will be eligible to play in the next round. Payment to be accompanied with a copy of the Reconciliation Form and handed to the Control Centre on the Saturday. Club Secretaries must apply to the Registrar for permission to delete registered players from a team provided the player has not played a game or part thereof during the current competition. Refunds Club Secretaries may apply to the Treasurer for a refund on registration fees, by completing an Application for Refund Form where a registered player has not played a game or part thereof during the current competition. Refunds do not include fees for capitation, insurance or any other levy included in the registration fee.

4 Insurance Insurance Forms are available at the Control Centre and also available on the Netball NSW Website. Once you have completed your claim form, please forward to Claims Services Australia. They handle all claims for the insurer. First Aid It is the responsibility of the Clubs to ensure that each team has a first-aid kit. Ice is available from the Control Centre. Junior and Senior Grades Games will start and finish on the siren. If only 4 players are present at the commencement time of the game, 5 minutes for late players will be allowed. No time is allowed for the arrival of an umpire. Injury time only allowed in semi-finals, final and grand final. Net-Set-Go 8 and 9 Years Modified rules will apply to 8 and 9 Years. Players - (Refer to Players Policy on Website) (d) (e) (f) (g) (h) (i) Players representing any Association in NSW Netball Senior Competitions (Metro League Divisions 1,2,3) must play in A Grade. Players representing any Association in NSW Netball Senior Competitions (Metro League Divisions 4,5,6) must play no lower that A2. Club teams are restricted to a maximum of 4 Metro League players per team with only 3 Metro League players permitted to take the court at any one time. If a player in a lower grade plays 3 games in higher grades she will be considered to be a player of the lowest grade of the 3 highest grades played. Where there are 2 teams in the same grade of this lowest grade, the player chooses the team she wishes to remain in. When a Club has more than one team in a grade, no player may be interchanged. No player may compete in a semi-final, final or grand final unless the player has played 3 competition games during the current competition. A Club which has a team in one grade and is short of a player for the semi-finals, final or grand final in a higher grade, may bring up a player from one of its lower graded teams, provided the player has played 3 games during the current competition. A player may take part in more than one competition match per round for their Club (to be referred to as the two competition game rule. If a player is playing 2 competition games, one competition game must be in the team the player is registered in. Players are not permitted to play 2 competition games per day during final series. Players cannot play an additional game in a team where 7 team members are present.

5 Players (Continued) - (Refer to Players Policy on Website) (j) (k) (l) (m) (n) Any team with a player injured during the game will not be permitted to use the 2 competition game rule to replace that injured player. Should any of the above conditions be broken under the 2 competition game rule, then the team in which the player is not registered in will be subject to the same penalties as playing an ineligible player (refer to Competition Policy) A maximum of 2 players in any one team can play additional games under the 2 game competition rules. Should a player play an additional game under the 2 competition game rule, the player must indicate the 2 nd game on the score card and team registered in. Players using the 2 competition game rule can only be accredited with playing 1 game per round. Substitution and Team Changes Both teams have the right to make substitutions and / or team changes: During an interval When play is stopped for injury / illness or blood The number of substitutions is not limited provided the players used are those named for the match. Forfeits - (Refer to Forfeits Policy on Website) (d) (e) (f) (g) Teams forfeiting must provide sufficient notice to the opposing team, preferably by 6.00 pm the Friday before the scheduled game. Contact should be made with the Club Secretary either via or phone. If via or text message, it is the forfeiting team s responsibility to ensure confirmation that the notification has been received. Teams failing to notify the opposing team of an intended forfeit will be subject to a fine of $ A team forfeiting a second time without notification will incur a fine of $100. A Club representative of the team receiving the forfeit must sign and submit the score card to control. Players names do not need to be recorded on the score card. If a player plays up into another team after receiving a forfeit, they will only get credited for 1 game. Up to 4 players from a forfeiting team are eligible to play for another team on the day of the forfeit. A forfeit will be declared after 5 minutes from the scheduled starting time of the game when the opposing team has less than 5 players able to take the court. Any team forfeiting on 3 consecutive occasions during the competition may be withdrawn from the competition. Score Cards (Refer Score Card Policy on Website) In accordance with the Rules there shall be 1 scorer from each team who shall keep a record of the goals scored and centre passes. The first team mentioned in the fixture book is responsible for the collection of the score card from the Control Centre prior to the game and for scoring the duration of the game. Each team is responsible for the printing of the names of players, the signature of captain, umpire and scorer as well as players signatures on the front of the score card. All junior players must sign using both first and last names.

6 Score Cards (Cont) (Refer Score Card Policy on Website) Names of all interchanged players must also be written on the score card in the appropriate space. Each manager of a junior team is responsible for the correct completion of the score card. The manager must also sign the score card. All score cards are to be placed in the box provided in the Control Centre immediately after the conclusion of the game. Point Score Loss of Points Win = 2 Incorrect score card = 1 Draw = 1 * Unregistered player = 2 Loss = 0 * Not complying with rules = 2 Bye = 2 (ineligible player) * In these cases points will be awarded to the opposing team. In the event of rules being broken by a losing team, 2 points will be deducted from the aggregate score. Signature Cards Specimen signatures are required on the signature card on the first day of competition and are to be returned to the Control Centre immediately after the game. Any player who has not signed the signature card on the first day of the competition is required to do so at the Control Centre prior to playing. If a player plays without first signing, this will be an incorrect score card. Umpires - (Refer to Umpires Policy on Website) Each team must supply an umpire to officiate on their game. If a team fails to do so, a player must be taken from the court to umpire. Once a game has commenced umpires are to continue to the end of the game and may not take the court as a player nor be considered as a substitute in the event of an injury or illness. In the event that the umpire arrives after the match has commenced, she may be a late arrival and may take part in the game by playing in the vacant position (if a registered player). All umpires are to be suitably dressed either in: White skirt, white shorts, white tracksuit pants and white polo or jacket Club uniform, tracksuit or playing dress or club issue umpiring polo appropriate footwear Any umpire incorrectly dressed will be taken off the game and the team responsible is to supply a replacement. Leggings, skins and leisurewear are NOT allowed. Umpires who do not adhere to the dress code may incur a fine of $50 to their nominated Club. Each umpire is to supply his/her own whistle. Whistles may be purchased from the Control Centre.

7 Disciplinary Action Players, umpires, or team officials may be required at times to appear before a Judiciary Committee. An Incident Report Form (E6) must be completed on incidents occurring. Any player or official striking another player or official in any way, on or off the court, will be automatically suspended for a minimum of 6 competition matches. The suspension will include playing, umpiring, scoring, carnivals or acting in any official capacity for a club. A player ordered to leave the court in accordance with the official rules may be called before Executive and dealt with accordingly. Whenever a registered player or official is on the Association s grounds he/she shall agree to the following: (i) (ii) Abide by code of personal conduct which is beyond reproach according to contemporary social standards. Behave in a manner that is not in any way adverse to the aims and objectives of the Association (iii) Ensure that any guests or spectators on the Association s grounds behave in a manner consistent with points (i) and (ii) above. (iv) Abide by the Association s Competition Rules and Codes of Conduct.

8 Players Code of Behaviour 1. Play by the rules. 2. Never argue with an official. If you disagree, have your captain, coach or manager approach the official during a break or after the competition. 3. Control your temper. Verbal abuse of officials or other players, deliberately distracting or provoking an opponent is not acceptable or permitted in any sport. 4. Work equally hard for yourself and/or your team. Your team s performance will benefit, so will you. 5. Be a good sport. Applaud all good plays whether they be by your team or the opposition. 6. Treat all players as you would like to be treated. Do not interfere with, bully or take unfair advantage of another player. 7. Co-operate with your coach, team mates and opponents. Without them there would be no competition. 8 Play for the fun of it, and not just to please parents and coaches. Parents Code of Behaviour 1. Remember that children play sport for their enjoyment, not yours. 2. Encourage children to participate, do not force them. 3. Focus on the child s efforts and performance rather than winning or losing. 4. Encourage children to always participate according to the rules. 5. Never ridicule or yell at a child for making a mistake or losing a game. 6. Remember that children learn best by example. Applaud good plays by all teams. 7. Support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from sporting activities. 8. Respect officials decisions and teach children to do likewise. 9. Show appreciation of volunteer coaches, officials and administrators. Without them, your child could not participate. Coaches Code of Behaviour 1. Remember that children participate for pleasure and that winning is only part of the fun. 2. Never ridicule or yell at a child for making a mistake or losing a game. 3. Be reasonable in your demands on young players time, energy and enthusiasm. 4. Teach your players to follow the rules. 5. Whenever possible, group players to ensure that everyone has a reasonable chance of success. 6. Avoid overplaying the talented players. The just-average need and deserve equal time. 7. Ensure that equipment and facilities meet safety standards and are appropriate to the age and ability of the players. 8. Develop team respect for the ability of opponents and for the judgement of officials and opposing coaches. 9. Follow the advice of a physician when determining when an injured player is ready to recommence training or competition. 10. Keep up to date with the latest coaching practices and the principles of growth and development of children. Officials Code of Behaviour 1. Compliment and encourage all participants. 2. Be consistent, objective and courteous when making decisions. 3. Condemn unsporting behaviours and promote respect for all opponents. 4. Emphasise the spirit of the game rather than errors. 5. Be a good sport yourself. Actions speak louder than words. 6. Remember, you set an example. Your behaviour and comments should be positive and supportive.
