3 Tournament Rules 2015 Please remember this is a fun tournament and we ask that all coaches, players and parents abide by and respect all the rules in place. Let s have FUN! Umpires will be instructed to abide by the yellow card rule of Baseball NL. There will zero tolerance of abuse or bullying of any officials. Baseball NL rules will apply in all situations unless otherwise stated differently below. All Mosquito and Peewee games will be played at Peter Barry Duff Field and/or Milton Road Fields. Stoney Hill and Kiwanis Fields in CBS will be used as back-up fields. Any game called due to darkness or weather will be considered complete after 4 full innings. There will be a maximum of 3 runs per inning, with the final inning being open. Both Mosquito and Peewee games will be 6 innings in length. Ties are accepted after 6 innings in round robin games. Open inning will commence with the next full inning that begins after one hour and forty-five minutes (1:45) of playing time has been reached. This will not apply in play-off rounds, where all 6 innings will be played. Mercy rule is in effect if leading by 10 runs after 4 innings of play. Pitch count rules will be based on total innings pitched. In Mosquito a pitcher may pitch a total of 6 innings in the tournament, and in Peewee a pitcher may pitch a total of 8 innings in the tournament including play-off games, unless in the 6 th inning of a tie game during the play-off round a pitcher may pitch an additional one (1) inning. Pitchers are permitted to pitch in more than one game in the same day, as long as their maximum innings does not exceed the allowable maximum per division. A pitcher removed from the position during a game shall not be permitted to return to pitch that same game. In BOTH Mosquito and Peewee all roster players must be in the batting line-up for the entire game. They can move freely in and out of the field defensively, but each player must play a minimum of three (3) full defensive innings per game. Baseball NL rules apply for all tie breakers. Home team will be decided by a coin toss for all games, Higher seeded team is home team for all Play-off games. There will be no straight steal of home permitted in Mosquito and Peewee. In Mosquito a runner on 3 rd may only advance home on a live play, and not on a pass ball. In Peewee a runner is permitted to advance home on a pass ball. An over- sized home plate will be used in Mosquito games. There will be NO infield fly rule in Mosquito. It will apply in the Peewee division.
