2 Team Prijon Made in Bavaria The green moons In a world focusing more and more on globalization and optimization, we re proud of developing and producing products for kayak sports here in Rosenheim/Germany as a family-owned enterprise for over 50 years. One of our principles is to produce and purchase as close to the customer as possible. This strategy ensures jobs in our region and guarantees a high level of quality management. You as a paddler help us to carry the name PRIJON into the world. Our products are well-reputed all over the world and have many friends, trusting the reliable work of our production. Above all, the owner Toni Prijon has many years of experience paddling and developing. With his team he develops new models, and tests them individually himself. Kayaks from an ecological point of view: All polyethylene-kayaks consist mostly of fossil oil and are produced with a high energy input. Transport takes place up to 95% on the roof of cars. So, kayaking per say is a un-eco activity. We calculated the amount of energy needed for the production of our -kayaks. The accruing energy costs, from the production of the raw hull, over the production and mounting of the detachable parts up to the average energy costs for the delivery of the components and the shipping of the finished kayaks to the shops, total in approx. 500 KWh. Hereby it becomes clear, that a long useful life of the product is the crucial factor for the balance of energy. During the planning process of the kayaks and detachable parts we already focus on their longevity. Our material is the key advantage, its longevity is incomparable. During the production of the hull no waste accumulates. Worn-out hulls are taken back by us and recycled. The sales team cares about the processing of the orders and the shipping of the kayaks and accessories to the shops. Our assemblers, mold makers, sewers and the team of our unique blow-molding machine ensure proper, first class products for you which you can enjoy over many years. Further factors for a positive energy balance are: We produce at the point where the market is. Our kayaks are made in Rosenheim. This ensures short distances to our shops. Short delivery distances of our suppliers. More than 80% of our detachable parts come from suppliers, located within a radius of about 300 km from the head quarters in Rosenheim. This results in low energy costs for the delivery and an increase in the country s value chain. In-house generation of energy. The process heat of the production of the hulls is used for the heating of the production hall. Another amount of our needed energy is covered by our photovoltaic system. We have seen with our own eyes that most of the textiles used in the kayak industry are made in Far East. This causes very high transport-energy-costs for their delivery. Our women workers in our in-house sewing room make all of our sewed parts. By doing so, we save costs and energy for the delivery, maintain important jobs and can guarantee the fulfillment of your high quality requirements. The new, slightly profiled paddleblades with foam core are very stiff and light and distinguish themself by a valuable optic. The material used has already received its permanent protection against UV rays. Normal ground impact occurring when touring cannot harm the hull. Transport with standard roof racks is easy. Slight deformations caused by the cargo straps will go back to the normal shape within minutes after unloading the kayak. When transporting longer boats over longer distances, we recommend you to additionally secure the ends of the boat with straps. If the boat is permanently stored outside, the boat hull should be covered, in order to prevent premature fading of the colour. Temperatures of -40 C to +60 are no problem at all. Even under such extreme conditions, will keep its flexibility and sturdiness. It is not necessary to treat it with varnishes, wax or other polishing substances. These would become apparent on the surface and cause unattractive discolourations. For cleaning, just use warm water with a dash of washing-up liquid. This material can only be used in blow-moulding and not in roto-moulding, as used by other producers of kayaks. The molecule chains of are approximately 10 times longer than those of rotated PE. This makes the boat hulls stiffer, lighter and less susceptible to abrasion. -kayaks have clear advantages regarding form stability, abrasion and boat weight, compared to kayaks made of rotated PE. is very environmentally friendly. When it is recycled, there are no poisonous gases or residues; it is ground water neutral and free of heavy metals. Care: -boat shells are very sturdy and already possess a permanent protection against UV-rays.
