1 HITW CALENDAR OF EVENTS (February 16, 2018 updated calendar) Trip Participants reminders: Honestly access your skill level with the Kayaking Skills Levels matrix located in the Planning a Trip section of our website and be sure to also check out the Trip Etiquette guide at the bottom of the same webpage when considering signing up for a trip. Reminder, the trip leaders are volunteers. They are not guides or instructors so you will be expected to have the skills and proper equipment necessary for the trip or training class. All events work best with a cooperative effort among the group! If you cannot make it on a trip please let the Trip leader/coordinator know ASAP so they can adjust plans and/or allow others that want to participate to have as much notice as possible. All trips are subject to change as per the trip leader(s) / Event Coordinator(s) discretion and the weather conditions. Classes, trips and sessions that have a fee associated with the event are nonrefundable unless canceled. Participant is welcome to find a suitable replacement for their spot in the event they cannot participate. The replacement person will need to be approved by the Trip Leader/ Event Coordinator prior to the event. Thank you for your understanding. Always check the website for update information regarding changes in times, classes or events. When signing up for an event or responding to a change from a newsflash, it is best to contact the Coordinator directly at their listed on the calendar. Reply s back on a newsflash can get missed. Be sure to make contact with the Trip Leader/ Event Coordinator before the trip for details, even if it s a maybe; some trips will be limited by size and experience level, all at the Trip Leader(s)/ Coordinators(s) discretion. A dry suit is the club s recommendation for cold weather/ water immersion gear. Other types of thermal protection may be acceptable upon Trip leader s / Event Coordinator s approval. Please check with them to make sure you have the right gear or substitute for the event. Trip Leaders: Be sure to check with the treasurer to make sure everyone who has signed up for your trip is a current club member and we have a 2018 signed waiver on file. General Info: Be sure to watch for Newsflashes in your detailing new events or other important club info. Also, check out the club s Google group for spontaneous paddling opportunities. We can also be found on Facebook at Friends of Hole in the Wall Paddling Club (current club members only) 1
