2 Welcome to another year of participation in Reflections, a cultural arts program of the PTA. Over 1 million-plus students participate annually in this program. In Oklahoma, over 16,000 students participated statewide. We hope that with your support and guidance, Reflections Chairmen and Unit Presidents, parents and even more students will take the opportunity to share their world via the avenue of Reflections, choosing to express feelings, thoughts and ideas creatively through Visual Arts, Literature, Photography, Musical Composition, Dance Choreography, or Film/Video Production. Over the last several years, Oklahoma students have won several National Awards of Excellence and Awards of Merit. Our students are the most creative in the nation. 6 As a reminder to all schools and PTA s: Per our Standing rules, a Lawton PTA unit must be in good standing by October 31 st with the Lawton PTA Council and Oklahoma PTA to participate in the Lawton PTA Council Reflections Awards Program and the Oklahoma PTA Reflections Program. All entries meeting our criteria and standing rules will be forwarded and Oklahoma PTA will make their final determination on the validity of these entries based on their eligibility and criteria according to their standing rules. Special Thanks to the teachers and staff at Lawton Public Schools, our Presidents and Reflections Chairs in each of our PTA Units, and to the City of Lawton for the use of their facility.
