A Note from your 4-H Agent; Chad Ray Whew. what a busy successful summer we have had! McDowell County 4-Hers have been all over the state and country participating in 4-H events. I want to say thank you, to all the volunteers, donors, and parents for helping make this a successful year. As we transition into fall, I wish everyone a great school year and much success in all you do. Please don t forget to fill out new 4-H enrollment forms, so you do not miss out on any of the exciting things that 4-H has to offer. Sincerely, Chad Ray 4-H Explorers Club REPORT 4-H Explorers had two great summer meetings. In June, we kicked off summer by visiting Dupont State Forest in Brevard. During late spring, the Blue Ghost Fireflies visit Dupont, so we did too. The Blue Ghost Fireflies glow instead of flash like the ones we generally see. It was a real treat to watch. For our August meeting, we visited Lake James State Park for a day at the beach. We canoed, kayaked, and swam. It was fun. 4-H Explorers meet the first Saturday of the month. If you have any questions about the club, please call Molly at
