1 The grand 10 th edition of the Faber Castell Spectra 2018 annual art carnival will be on Friday, 14 th December 2018 at Bahrain International Exhibition Center, Kingdom of Bahrain.. The following are the rules and regulations: Age groups Rules and Regulations Participants would be children drawn from Schools in Bahrain and would be divided into four (4) age groups as follows: Age Group Age Limit Remarks I 5+ years to 8 years Children born between 1 st July 2010 and 30 th June 2013 II 8+ years to 11 years Children born between 1 st July 2007 and 30 th June 2010 III 11+ years to 14 years Children born between 1 st July 2004 and 30 th June 2007 IV 14+ years to 18 years Children born between 1 st July 2000 and 30 th June 2004 V 18 years & Above Born on or before 30 th June 2000 Qualifying Round All the participants would be put through a qualifying round in their respective schools. These qualifying rounds would be administered by the Schools independently. The top participants selected on the basis of their performance in the qualifying test would move to the finals. The number of participants for the finals from each school in each age category would be limited to the numbers specified by the Organizing Committee. There would be a total of approximately 1200 children in each age category for the finals. Participation will be allowed only through Schools/Institutions. Registration Forms should be submitted to the school Coordinators with CPR Copy (hardcopy) through respective School/Institution authorities, Excluding adults. Finals The finals will be held at the Bahrain International Exhibition Center, Kingdom of Bahrain. Participating Children will be provided the following materials and the drawing papers for the competition. Participants are bound to use the materials provided/prescribed by the organisers unless otherwise specified. Page 1

3 Participants (of all age groups) are permitted to use only the material provided to them for drawing/coloring. However, they are allowed to bring the following accessories drawing board, instrument box (containing scale, protractors, compass, etc), pencil sharpener, cotton and tissue paper. The subject for the age groups II, III, IV & V group will be announced only at the venue at the start of the finals. The youngest group, Group-I will be free to draw and paint anything of their liking at the venue. The duration of the finals would be as follows: For age group I : 5+ years to 8 years 60 minutes For age group II : 8+ years to 11 years 90 minutes For age group III : 11+ years to 14 years 90 minutes For age group IV: 14+ years to 18 years 120 minutes For age group V: 18yrs & above 120 minutes Dates The dates are Competition Finals on Friday, 14 th December, 2018 (Morning and afternoon) at The Bahrain International Exhibition Center, Kingdom of Bahrain. Award Nite Award Ceremony will be held the same evening from 8pm onwards at The Bahrain International Exhibition Center, Bahrain. Calendar Release Calendar Release will be held after the competition, dates will be announced later. Page 3

4 Judgment criteria Participants would be judgedahrain Ex on the following criteria: Group I 5+ years to 8 years Group II 8+ years to 11 years Group III 11+ years to 14 years Group IV 14+ years to 18 years Group V 18 years & Above / Colour combination Overall The above judgment criteria are only guidelines for the participants. The Jury reserves the right to alter and/or amend the criteria as they deem appropriate. Page 4

5 The Jury Prizes The Jury would consist of professional and amateur artists as well as eminent personalities chosen by the organizers from among the local community. The decision of the Jury will be final and binding. The top 50 winners in each age group would receive Medals and Certificates.. The top five winners in each category would receive individual trophies and certificates. Participation certificates would be issued to all individual participants. Rolling trophy to the schools will also be presented. The organizers reserve the right to use the paintings as they deem fit. They would however acknowledge the name of the child and his/her school.
