Cars on the Quad Show - April 21, 2018 31 BUTH cars met at the B of A on Springs Road and headed over to Jesse Bethel High School for the 3 rd annual Cars on the Quad Show.

Coach Jeanne was happy to see all of us arrive. I helped get everyone checked in while Tom helped get all the Boyz parked. John D. was already there.

All proceeds will go directly to the kids in sports. The weather was perfect!!! Not too hot, not too cold and not windy. The food was great and the conversations plentiful.

The Coaches and Athletes were all thrilled they had 79 cars this year (a big jump from the 54 last year) and we were a big part of that.

2 Cars on the Quad Show - April 21, BUTH cars met at the B of A on Springs Road and headed over to Jesse Bethel High School for the 3 rd annual Cars on the Quad Show. It s a short drive but still fun when you have that many classics cruising together. We were met by David s tennis team pointing the way. Coach Jeanne was happy to see all of us arrive. I helped get everyone checked in while Tom helped get all the Boyz parked. John D. was already there. That meant 32 Boyz registered for the show. Way to go!!! Anji and Chris showed up with 3 other Swanx members too. Thank you all for supporting The Bethel Athletics Boosters. All proceeds will go directly to the kids in sports. The weather was perfect!!! Not too hot, not too cold and not windy. The food was great and the conversations plentiful. If you haven t made it to this show yet, put it on your list for next year. It s a fun one and it s a great cause. The Coaches and Athletes were all thrilled they had 79 cars this year (a big jump from the 54 last year) and we were a big part of that. Joe Gracie received the Athletes' 2 nd place award, Joe Jester received the Principal s 2 nd place award and Thanks to Tom and all the Boyz I got the Best in Show (People s Choice) for my efforts in helping with this show for 3 years. Vice Presidents Corner Notes from the VP. My friend Jake has a friends top 10 list. I move up and down the list depending on his mood and my foolishness.

I know Chip had a million friends but even as a passing comment I was very pleased to hear it.. Vallejo and our world will be so much less without Chip.

3 Vice Presidents Corner Notes from the VP. My friend Jake has a friends top 10 list. I move up and down the list depending on his mood and my foolishness. Your mother would tell you it's wrong to gauge your friends but we all do it. My friend Chip Carter referred to me as one of his best friends just a few weeks ago, we were on the phone. I know Chip had a million friends but even as a passing comment I was very pleased to hear it.. Vallejo and our world will be so much less without Chip. I will miss him, the BOYZ will miss him, the Lyons club, the Chamber, the Friday lunch club, the guys at the BOYZ garage and that's just we mortals. My heart goes out to Kim. I have met a lot of great people in this club and some have become life long friends and YES, some of you are in my top 10. If you don't know that you are, I guess I'm not telling you loud enough. BOYZ and gals, take note we spend a jillion weekends together, how many dinners and events? This is our life, take note and enjoy. I'm glad Chip, Greg and Mole started this club. 4 Featured Car of the Month Tom Morrow s 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu I put pictures of my car on here to show you how your car can look in the newsletter. Ok, thought this might be something kinda cute, so I am sending it your way. This was taken on one of the Spanish Islands, one of the Grand Canaries. And no they are not named after a bird.

I believe this town was Mirias; above the city of Malaga. All of these Islands were beautiful! The ride getting there got a little rough.

5 Ok, thought this might be something kinda cute, so I am sending it your way. This was taken on one of the Spanish Islands, one of the Grand Canaries. And no they are not named after a bird. Story goes that when the Spaniards first saw the place there were a lot of Seals. Thus the name came from a Spanish word meaning. "Sea Dogs" also a large breed of dog (supposedly). I believe this town was Mirias; above the city of Malaga. All of these Islands were beautiful! The ride getting there got a little rough. They even had to cancel the last visit; due to gail force winds! Apparently the waves were crashing against the shore where we were to dock. The only Hot car I saw, was a Maserati coupe on the Portuguese Island. Food was great, the experience was very entertaining for the most part. Casa Blanca was a little bit of a disappointment for me. The guide was a substitute and did not take us to all of the places we were supposed to see. Like the open market, and the Spice's store. We did get to go to a rug Market! Where we were entertained by the owner with tea and his inventory. The couple we were with bought a rug and had it shipped home. Of course the girls did a lot of shopping! I was on the alert for lamps, and beachie" things for the new house. When I did see something of interest, and they were not close, I would just point and say Squirrel and point to the store. Worked every time. On the last excursion, I meet a member of the Solano Classic Club! He saw my club jacket that I was wearing. We also met a couple that lived in Glen Cove, Vallejo, Calif. When you go to order parts don t just assume that they will fit and wait 6 months to put them in. Test fit them as soon as you get them. If they fit great, you can put it on the self in your garage until you re really ready. If it doesn t fit, send it back as soon as you can. Most places have no problem on a return. If it s their fault even better. I m helping out a guy and he s got over $5K in parts in the trunk and many of these don t fit. Lot s of money wasted he ordered them too long ago & can t return them. Just a little FYI. Don t want to be too pushy. I know how you all get. LOL
