2 It seems like just yesterday we were celebrating the Fourth of July. Yes, summer has officially ended and the change of season brings out many mixed emotions. While some yearn for long days and warm weather, others welcome autumn with open arms. Crisp air, bold colors, and warm drinks are just a few of the reasons why fall is so magical. Keep reading to see what the NJRHA team chose as their fall favorites! 1. Sweet Snacks To kick off our list, here is what Marilou chose as her favorite fall- time desert. When Marilou isn t working hard as the NJRHA s President, she likes to indulge in a slice of pecan pie. Be sure to keep the pumpkin flavored pies and lattes away from her though My favorite fall dessert is pecan pie. I justify eating it since it has lots of protein from the pecans. LOL. I dislike anything with pumpkin in it. 2. Tis the Season Any football fan understands this: Fall = Elimination of productive Sunday and Monday evenings. We asked Shah who she s rooting for this year and without hesitation she said The Philadelphia Eagles. They are my favorite team because no matter what the score is, they keep going. As a fan, I feel at home when I attend their games AND their uniform has my favorite color green.

3 3. Sweet Scents Fall is a candle lover s dream come true. Gardenia and fruity candles are refreshing, but there is nothing as cozy as the warm, sweet, and spicy scents of fall. Ali had a lot to say when we asked her about her favorite fall scented candle! I usually don t like homey scents but I happened to smell this one at Target last year (the best place to buy candles, in my opinion!) and absolutely fell in love! It s called Brown Sugar Chestnut and is from The Collection by Chesapeake Bay Candle. It makes me feel like I m living inside a fall-themed Pinterest board, breaking out my boots for the first time, and going pumpkin picking in a cozy turtleneck sweater. 4. What s In Your Closet? Fall can be tricky for outfit planning because the air is chilly but pants and jackets are too heavy. We asked Aubri for one of her fall wardrobe must- haves and she suggested a knit poncho. They re stylish alternatives to a traditional cardigan and great for the season change (when you need an extra layer but you re not quite ready for a jacket). I keep one draped over the back of my office chair, just in case!

4 5. Scenic Trips When the leaves fall to the ground and tree tops look too pretty to be real, you must go to a park. Leslie suggests taking a trip to the Great Smokey Mountains. Imagine the breathtaking views from the mountain range. 6. Anticipated Returns It has been over a year since Netflix s Stranger Things first aired. The series received critical acclaim for its characterization, pacing, atmosphere, and homage to 1980 s genre films. It has become a stand out hit series for Netflix and it s returning for a second season this fall. Sarita is a fan of the show and has high hopes for what the series will do next. It is the perfect show to get you in the mood for Halloween. This nostalgic 80 s style thriller is the perfect combination of mystery and fantasy. Stranger Things comes out on October 27 th on Netflix, which means you can binge watch all the episodes!

5 7. A Breath of Fresh Air If there is one thing that must be on your fall to- dolist, it's spending the day at an orchard. The weather is ideal for spending hours out in the apple orchards and pumpkin fields. Karen suggests taking a trip to Russo's Orchard Lane Farm in Chesterfield, NJ. Across this beautiful 250-acre land, you can find fruits, vegetables, jams, jellies, and more. There is nothing better than getting friends and family out of the house for some farm- to- table fun. 8. Mood Music Say what you want about John Mayer as a person but there is something about his mellow music that accompanies fall perfectly. Hannah, our Marketing and Communications Intern, celebrates the season by sitting outside with a cup of tea and her laptop while listening to a John Mayer playlist. She listens to music from all of his albums but Room for Squares and Continuum are her favorites. Honestly any John Mayer song makes the fall more fall-ey.
