2 President s Message Hello Pride and welcome to the November edition of 'The Roar'. It s been a very busy time since the last edition of The Roar with the committee working extremely hard on making sure that the BMBA is in a good position on and off the court. The BMBA committee has been putting in place some very important things, New scoring system (Stadium Scoring) which by all accounts is going extremely well BBQ s are back on a Friday Night (VJBL) & Saturday (Clubs) New BMBA office & referee s room. New BMBA 3yr Strategic Plan VJBL Tryouts Re-signed BMBA Sponsors The Village Bacchus Marsh Shopping Centre and Wilson s Home Hardware. Formed new partnerships with Meat at the Marsh and Darley Bakehouse. 15 new referee s. 15 new level 1 coaches The BMBA s AGM is coming up on November 15th and with much sadness I will not be re-nominating as President of the BMBA and I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that I have worked with over the past 3 years, your dedication and service to the BMBA has been greatly appreciated by myself. The BMBA doesn t run itself and we all need to pitch in and help out if we want to continue to go, I ask that you give joining the BMBA s committee or one of the sub committee s a thought and if you want any info please don t hesitate to contact me on Lastly a big thank you to the entire Pride I have made many new friends and lost a few but the last 3 years has been extremely rewarding and I thank you all for that. Peter Matthewman President Working with Children Cards It is a requirement of Basketball Australia that all Coaches and Team Managers provide their respective Association with a copy of their working with children card/number. So in this regard, we have to build a new database of Working with Children records so we ask that each Coach and Team manager provide a copy of their respective Card to Samantha at the front counter. If you do not hold one of these cards please go to the Post Office who will handle the application for you or go to and once lodged you should then provide Samantha your lodgment number until your card becomes available. I am sure you all appreciate the need for this and we ask all those concerned for your cooperation in making sure ALL coaches and TEAM MANAGERS comply.

3 BMBA The Village Bacchus Marsh Lions Representative Presentation Night The BMBA held it s annual representative awards night on the 16th of October. 300 guests turned out for the awards night at a new venue this year Tabcorp Park. Below is a list of award winners for the night but I must say that everyone was a winner on the night with everyone doing a sensational job of dressing up and having a sensational time.
