1 A NOTE FROM THE DJFNC PRESIDENT Round 10 bought with it lots of 50th game milestones for many of our junior players. Congratulations to all junior players who played their 50th game on Sunday. I m so proud of our Devil players who are obviously enjoying their footy and netball and creeping up the ladder in age groups. You ll be at the 100 game milestone before you know it. A fantastic achievement! Congratulations to our winning sides who went home with a win on Sunday. Mount Clear weren t easy rivals in football. Our under 10 reserves side along with our under 12 reserves and under 13 girls had strong wins and our netballers had another successful round. Congratulations to both under 11 sides, both under 13 sides and our under 15 seniors who had terrific wins against the Mounties. HOLIDAY BYE A reminder that this weekend is the holiday bye. There will be no junior football or netball played. Round 11 sees us playing the Cobras at their home ground on Sunday, 15th July. Please ensure you are aware of any changes to your training schedules this week. Enjoy the week off everyone, especially our Devils parents. Have a sleep in! 3 Vs The ROUND 10 WEDNESDAY 27TH JUNE DEVIL FOOTBALL RESULTS U/9 FOOTBALL Darley vs Ballan On the 27 th June, our under 9s got to play at Darley Park against Ballan in front of a large, adoring crowd. These players consider this a real treat, given they train at the hub and play almost all of their matches in Melton. Griffin Saliba led his troops well as captain, displaying his trademark pinpoint drop punts as all of the team tackled well and chased hard. Eight of our players took turns to even up the numbers for our opposition, which made for an entertaining, free flowing and even contest. Both teams showed some glimpses of brilliance and scored an even number of goals. Our team now enjoys a break until July 18, after 10 wonderful games thus far. All but 3 of our players qualify for an under 8s team if that existed which it doesn't, but despite playing against older and bigger opponents our team always makes us proud with their skill, effort and behaviour. Enjoy the break and remember to complete your homework work on your drop punts and watch some footy on TV! Shayne

10 Vs ROUND 10 SUNDAY 1ST JULY DEVIL NETBALL RESULTS U/13 NETBALL SENIORS Darley 29 def Mount Clear 16 Goals: Bridie Shanahan 15, Ava Densley 14 RESERVES Macey O Hehir, Bridie Shanahan, Ava Densley, Milly Vallence After a slow start, we got our act together and played three quarters of good netball. At training we will be working on box set plays, goalers holding as well as defensive tactics. Congratulations to Ava, Macey and Tahla on playing your 50th games. Look forward to watching you play many more games with this great club. Teresa, Vanessa & Kirstie Darley 41 def Mount Clear 5 Goals: Charlotte Drevensek 22, Ella Closter 14, Maddy Vella 5 Ella Closter, Ava Kajina, Emma Shaw, Claudia Runge What a great game to coach, our players played for each other. This was really evidence in the goal circle and our defenders worked really hard and forced pressure on the shooters which in return created goals. Our mid court players found great space and were always an option. Keep it up Devils! Teresa, Vanessa & Kirstie

11 Vs ROUND 10 SUNDAY 1ST JULY DEVIL NETBALL RESULTS U/15 NETBALL SENIORS Darley 52 def Mount Clear 21 Goals: Britney Ellis 23, Eliza Tango 17, Takeya Tanner 12 Britney Ellis (BOC), Brooke McNeill, Makita Spence A stellar performance today. Could not fault any of you today. A special thank you to Makita for filling in for the B s and then to play an exceptional game in the A s. You really shone today buddy. My only critique is if you girls go into every game with the mental strength you had against Mt Clear, there is nothing stopping you from being the best in the business. We need to go into every game with this same mental attitude regardless of who we are up against. Great effort to you all! Jade, Simone & Alex RESERVES Darley 15 def by Mount Clear 17 Goals: Isabella Di Mieri 7, Makita Spence 7, Edyn Thomas 1 Hailey Harmon (BOC), Grace Holt, Rosie George Hold your heads up high girls. Yes, we didn t come away with the win but it was a win in our eyes. It was a close game the whole way through and we are so proud of you for not losing momentum to try and win until the final whistle. You girls really gave it your all and deserved to have it. Proud of you all. Jade, Simone & Alex

12 Vs ROUND 10 SUNDAY 1ST JULY DEVIL NETBALL RESULTS U/17 NETBALL SENIORS Darley 41 def by Mount Clear 58 Goals: Emma Winzar 29, Kaylee Banner 12 Holly Van Meel (BOC), Darci Evans, Melissa Cadman Bad luck today girls. You all worked hard on the court against the team we know were going to be tough, but unfortunately they ran away in the score with some turn arounds from silly mistakes. Well done to Melissa for filling in today. You did a great job. No training this week so enjoy your school holidays. See you in the second week. Nichole & Susanne RESERVES Darley 23 def by Mount Clear 28 Goals: Tenaya Mills 18, Keeley Growcott 5 Bridie Lewis (BOC), Keeley Growcott, Tenaya Mills What a great game you played today. Passes were a lot better and you worked hard all down the court. Fantastic work in defence that saw some turn arounds which we need to remember to support their hard work by slowing the game down and being sure of our passes. Congratulations to Tenaya and Tahlea on your 50th games. Nichole, Kaylee & Susanne
