Virtue of the Month Our school is continuing with our Virtues Program again this year. Each month we will highlight one virtue and do some in- class activities related to it. Please extend this discussion at home with your children and families. September s virtue is Reliability. Reliability means that others can depend on you. You keep your commitments and do your best at all times. You are responsible and don t need to be reminded about things. Other people can trust you to follow through. Ways to demonstrate reliability are to: Make promises you can keep Treat your agreements seriously Plan ahead Do your best Finish on time Find another way if obstacles occur

Fans of Neenah High School athletics will have the opportunity to purchase season passes for the upcoming 2014-15 school year.

3 Fans of Neenah High School athletics will have the opportunity to purchase season passes for the upcoming school year. Adult passes cost $60 for the entire year and are good for all home football, boys and girls basketball, boys and girls soccer, boys and girls volleyball, boys and girls hockey, wrestling and drama events for the season. Student passes are available for all Neenah Joint School District students in grades K-12 for $30 for the year. Single-event tickets are sold for $5 for adults and $3 for students the night of the event. Adult passes and student passes for all grades are now available and can be purchased in the student services office at Neenah High School from7:30 a.m.- 4 p.m. daily. The passes are good for all home Neenah High School events, excluding WIAA and conference postseason events.

8 Free Introductory Program* Two 8-week sessions Starting October 2014 Tri County Ice Arena If you are new to hockey or are interested in learning more about it, this is the program for you! You don t have to know how to skate, we will teach you in a safe and fun filled setting. 1) If%you%want%to%try%our%Introduction%Program%(IP),%have%your%parents%go%to%the%registration% page%on%our%website% 2) If%they%have%questions%they%can%e>mail%fvyhablades@gmail.com.%%% 3) For%a%small%rental%fee%we%provide%equipment%from%head%to%toe.% *Free program for first year skaters only under the age of 11 who live in Neenah, Menasha, Hortonville or Shiocton school districts. Skaters born 2008 or before must pay $40 to USA Hockey for insurance and membership/magazine subscription/insurance. Fox Valley Youth Hockey Association (FVYHA) provides youth, starting at age 4, the opportunity to develop character, sportsmanship and teamwork skills through the sport of hockey. We are a nonprofit association with a 40 year history for developing hockey players on and off the ice, and have a great reputation of success in competitive youth hockey. See the back of this sheet for more information on our programs for all age and skill levels.

9 FVYHA Full Program Summary FREE Introduction to Hockey Program (IP) This is a learn to skate program focusing on teaching the basics of hockey skating. This program is typically for the young skater (ages 4-6) but is open to beginning skaters of any age. IP meets Thursday 6pm-7pm. The program runs in two eight week sessions, beginning October and January. Mite (Mighty Mite) Mighty Mites are generally young second year skaters and skate twice a week including one practice and cross-ice games on Saturdays. For more information and to register online visit our website: or contact: fvyhablades@gmail.com Mite Cross Ice (X-ice) Skater with birth years 2006 or later. X-ice skaters work on developing basic hockey skills and building confidence. Skaters meet for practice twice a week and play games on Saturdays. Skaters are placed on internal teams for both practices and games. This program is for the young skater that can take direction from a coach, work independently and skate the length of the ice with confidence. Squirt Skaters with birth years of 2004 and The Squirt division offers teams at varying skill levels. Teams play games in northeastern Wisconsin and generally participate in one home tournament and one or two away tournaments as determined by the team. The top Squirt team is determined by a tryout process in October. PeeWee Skaters with birth years of 2002 and Team games and placement similar to that of the Squirt level. Bantam Skaters with birth years of 2000 and Team games and placement similar to that of the Squirt level. At this level, skaters are allowed full body contact with the opponent (checking). FVYHA is a Wisconsin Amateur Hockey Association (WAHA) Division II Club that offers instructional and competitive hockey opportunities for students in the Neenah, Menasha, Hortonville and Shiocton school districts.
