2 SYNOPSIS (THIS OUTLINES THE FLOW OF THE PARTY EVENTS). Fiona Frost is a senior at Godley Grove High School. Due to her natural talents for investigation and science, she founded the Godley Grove High School Forensic Science Club last year. It has since grown into a serious investigative group that even the Godley Grove Police Department depends upon for assistance! All criminal activities that take place in Godley Grove High School and even some crimes that take place in the city of Godley Grove are thoroughly investigated by Fiona s Forensic Science Club in their federally-funded forensic lab at Godley Grove High School! Godley Grove was buzzing about a recent treasure map that was discovered in Arles Cave by a Hartford University research team. The researchers were currently working to analyze the map to determine the exact location of the possible treasures that seemed to point directly underneath the historical Godley Grove Manor. Until they finished their analysis, the map was being displayed in the Grand Foyer of the Godley Grove Manor so the excited citizens of Godley Grove could view the map. Fiona received a panicked call from the Godley Grove police department that the map was stolen right out of the display case and there was disturbing evidence that tied someone at Godley Grove High School to the crime! As always, Fiona's Forensic Science Club agreed to assist the Godley Grove Police Department in the investigation! The group met at the Godley Grove Manor and started sleuthing the crime including evidence found at the scene such as fingerprints, an intriguing hair, a mysterious shoe print and other pieces of evidence and facts about the crime. The group was shocked to uncover a coded message during their investigation. The club rallied together to find the decoders for the message and then they decoded the message as quickly as possible. Once everybody gathered enough information, they took their time filtering through the evidence and then each submitted their best guess of whodunit. One by one, each guest accused who they believed was the thief before each club member came clean with their involvement with the crime, if any, and then the thief confessed! The group quickly searched for the treasure map in a fun scavenger hunt around the Godley Grove Manor! The Godley Grove Police Department was in further debt to Fiona Frost and her club and the next morning, there was yet another awesome news article published about the junior crime sleuthers! If the clues involve anything from computers to cell phones, Madison will get the job done. When she s not building computers, or solving riddles and crimes, she spends her free time planning hilarious pranks on her friends and family. Typically seen wearing her military-inspired cap and chewing on a straw, Lauren can crack any numeric code! Willow Walker was nicknamed Doc by her friends since she s aspired to be a physician since the age of three. She currently spends at least ten volunteer hours per week training with the doctors at the local family clinic. Doc is Lauren Hope s best friend and she s one loudtalking teen that you can hear from down the street! She is the most fun-loving club member who loves to dance and put together any type of puzzles. The most popular girl at Godley Grove High School is Ella Queen. An extremely effective communicator and social networker, Ella knows absolutely everything about everyone in the town of Godley Grove! If you need to reveal anyone s secrets, Ella s your spy as she has the brains, ability and massive popularity to pull it off! The cheery Samantha Spade is the Godley Grove High School top chemistry mastermind and National Academic League Science Champion. As a hobby, she loves to make up rap songs about the periodic table of the elements and sometimes even teaches the freshman chemistry class for her chemistry teacher. Samantha is always seen in proper business attire as she believes you never know when you ll meet someone you need to impress! Is there a drama queen in the house? Of course! It s Adro Monk! She s the spunky editor of the Godley Grove High School Newspaper. Adro is the school gossip so never confide in her to keep a secret! Adro is a notorious note writer at school and has become quite the handwriting analyst. She s created a database of handwriting samples from everyone in school - including teachers! Pet Colombo is an aspiring forensic psychological profiler. She s so awesome at profiling; she can nearly tell you what you re thinking! Known to be a tad wild and extremely hyperactive, this energy hoarder is the most mechanically inclined member of the club. Casual teen attire. She recently moved to Godley Grove from South Africa with her family and soon after landed a part time job at Ozzies - the local burger joint. She is known to be a little argumentative and is a constant oneupper during conversations. Therefore, whatever you tell Margo, she s likely to have done it more and even better. Mason Perriman is the leading goal scorer on the varsity soccer team. Mason is known to be a tad neurotic at times, so you need to stay on his good side if you know what s good for you. Mason is one of the best field investigators so it is best to allow him to be first on the scene. Edward Hardy is one of the most popular boys at Godley Grove High School. If he is wearing it, saying it or doing it everyone else is soon to follow. Edward is a super sleuther when it comes to any evidence that is from a foreign nation. He s originally from Australia and he can speak five different languages! Thomas Swiftman is the energetic President of the Future Farmers of America Club and is a paperboy for the Godley Grove Newspaper. Thomas is a true friend to everyone and is extremely knowledgeable about the town of Godley Grove due to his job as a paperboy. Also known as a budding stand-up comic, this guy is certainly the life of any party! Wolfe Nero is the notorious Godley Grove High class clown. The teachers wince when they look at their new semester roll sheets and hope that Wolfe s name is not listed! He is one of the best drummers in the marching band and an awesome skateboarder. Wolfe is the best at determining the underlying cause of the criminal behavior. He seems to be able to creep inside the criminal s mind! Casual teen attire. This mystery is a light-hearted mystery that allows your guests to step into different characters while trying to solve the entertaining mystery. The party can be a huge success as long as everyone relaxes and lets the mystery unravel during each round. There will be additional volumes of Fiona Frost mystery parties released so when you have a blast at the first party she can tell her friends to hang on to their costumes and you can host another Fiona Frost party! Full instructions in the purchased game THE ROUNDS ARE DESIGNED AS FOLLOWS: PRE-GAME STARTER: these pre-game starters are to be delivered to each guest before the party or give them to the guests as they arrive. All pre-game clues are optional and do not alter the mystery, and are intended to enhance the pre-game build up for the event. These clues are not vital to solving

6 the mystery. These are the meeting announcements as if the characters were real so these should be given to those guests who have already RSVP'd and are assigned a character. If there is time, accusations can be made by each guest before the Round Three Solution Cards are read (acted out). 7 GUEST INSTRUCTIONS Professional actors are great for mysteries but do not worry because you do not have to be a good actor or an actor at all to play a mystery! The only quality that you need to possess is the ability to have a blast! The mystery party is separated into 3 rounds. During the party, you will be handed a clue card that contains the clues necessary for your character for each round. Everybody s clues will provide everything that you will need to solve the mystery. During the investigation segment of the game, you will need to ask the right questions and pay close attention to other guests clues to be able to get the whole picture of what has happened. Full instructions in the purchased game From this point forward, you are to remain in character until the mystery is solved. If you are playing a hyper teenager that prefers to sing instead of talk, then that is who you are until the end! Undoubtedly, your host has cast you into a character that you are comfortable playing. There are some characters that are designed to be played more reserved than other characters that should be played more boisterous. Feel free to play your role however you feel comfortable. Embellish your character s personality if you would like. However, if you are feeling like being quiet or shy, you can opt to allow the other characters to approach you or you can simply listen in on others conversations to get your information. Not everyone needs to or should have the spotlight!

8 OPTIONAL PRE-GAME STARTERS Parent Host Instructions: Before the party, send out the free, printable game invitations to your guests as they have the web address to the website. The website was made for this game (as well as future volumes and future Fiona Frost novels, etc.) and contains the information for each guests character as far as personality and what they should wear, act like, etc. Also, encourage your guests to view the other characters (Fiona s Friends and fellow Forensic Science Club Members from GGHS) prior to the game and the background of Godley Grove, etc. This way, the guests can be familiar with what is going on before they arrive to the party and will have an idea where the story line is headed and it leads to pre-game excitement! You can always elect to read the Full instructions in the purchased game ROUND ONE IT S PARTY TIME! Parent Host Instructions: PARTY DÉCOR: Decorate your home as if it were the Foyer or a Ballroom within the Godley Grove Manor. Old Victorian table setting, candelabras, etc. can be used for a more authentic historical mansion feel. Why not grab a few spider webs and scatter them around the room for a not living in setting? Also, have low lighting and play a soft classical track in the background or a thunderstorm track (there is one available for purchase via instant download at the My Mystery Party Prop Emporium the mystery party prop site- ( NAME TAGS: The name tags are on page 8+ and are created on a template for an 8 adhesive laser label 4 * 2 ½ template (Uline Shipping Supplies at item S-5043). They can be printed without using adhesive name badges. Use tape to adhere them to your guests costumes.

Round One Clue cards in sealed envelopes (Clue cards start on page 18+, envelopes are host supplied) Fiona s Round One Announcement slipped into her Round One clue card envelope (page 16) Mystery Investigation Sheets (page 23 ) Pens/Pencils for each guest (host supplied) Shoeprint Evidence Report and Meeting Announcement found at crime scene both put into an envelope labeled Round One Forensic Evidence (page 17-18) Godley Grove Map (page 60) ROUND TWO DINNER IS SERVED PARENT HOST INSTRUCTIONS: Hand out the Round Two Clue Cards to the guests and instruct the guests to mingle and discuss the clues on their clue cards with each other and continue to take notes on their mystery investigation sheets. Explain that they should continue to gossip about each others characters and the Stolen Treasure Map and then, they can work as a team or in teams (however you choose) on the mystery once everyone discusses the information on their clue cards. Explain to the guests that the information in their clue cards should be enough to reveal who the thief is (plus the forensic report from Round one and forensic report from Round two that you are waiting on from the Godley Grove Police Department that you will disclose later).

10 Full instructions in the purchased game After the guests have made their matches and discussed the forensic report, hand Adro Monk her final announcement for Round Two. She will announce who the handwriting sample on the coded message is a match to. In the story line: she s been running the analysis in her database since she found it on the coded note it just takes a while to make a match as it is a low-tech database that she created herself. After she makes the announcement, the guests are to work on their final guesses of whodunit and turn in their mystery investigation sheets to you. PROP LIST: These are props needed for this round. Collect these items in advance and have them ready. Full instructions in the purchased game ROUND THREE FINAL SOLUTION ROUND PARENT HOST INSTRUCTIONS: Collect the Mystery Investigation Sheets from your guests. Instruct them to sit in a circle before you pass out the round three envelopes to the guest. At this time, serve dessert and hot chocolate. If time allows, instruct

11 the guests to one at a time accuse who they believe is responsible for the crime and why they think it is her/him. The accusations are optional. Once each guest has accused someone, pass out their round three envelopes and allow them to read (stand up and act out) the solutions on their clue cards. Fiona Frost is to read her solution card first and then they are to follow the order as instructed at the bottom of each of their clue cards. For reference, in the answer key section of this game, there is a list of the order in which the guests will read their solution cards. Make up rap songs and recite funny poems whenever you feel like it to make everyone laugh! Your address is 346 E. Aragon Avenue. You are known for doing outrageous practical jokes and pranks. For your last prank, you took all of the toilet paper in the school, unraveled it and flew it from the top of the flagpole. You were suspended from school for a week and your parents grounded you for a month! Tell everybody about how great this prank was and how you re ready to do another one. You just don t know how you can top that one, though! EACH PLAYER WILL HAVE A ROUND ONE CLUE CARD IN THE PURCHASED GAME That shoe print looks like it came from the same type of shoes all of the girls have a pair of the Conversion Max 300 s. It is probably best to focus on who in the club wears a women s size 6.5 shoe. You wear a size 9.5 (men's) shoe.

Talk to others about Ella Queen and how she could have stolen the map to sell on ebay to get money to buy her mother new earrings before she finds out Ella lost one of them when she borrowed them. You are highly suspicious of anybody who cares deeply about preserving the Godley Grove Manor. They could have stolen the map to prevent the researchers from tearing up parts of the Manor to find the hidden treasure. Your fingerprint:

19 Proposed estimated party timeline: (about a hour party depending on the optional games played) Provided in the purchased game END OF THE GAME - FINALE SCAVENGER HUNT Print the treasure map and cut it out, crinkle it up a bit by folding it and then hide anywhere in the boundaries you choose. Tell the guests the boundaries prior to the hunt. The boundaries can be the same or different than when the guests searched for the decoders to the coded message. A prize can be given to the winner.
