3 Explosions in Pakistan Two bombs exploded in Pakistan. At least 130 people died. The bombs exploded at a big rally. The rally was in Karachi. People were celebrating the former Prime Minister's return. She was returning to Pakistan after 8 years. Thousands of people came out to welcome her. She was not hurt in the explosions.

4 Fires in California There have been enormous fires in California. A million people had to be evacuated. At least 14 people died. Lots of homes were destroyed. Thousands of firemen tried fighting the fires. Planes dropped water on the fires. California had lots of dry weather. Winds caused the fires to spread.

5 Tickets for the 2008 Olympics Tickets are being sold for the 2008 Olympics. The Olympics will take place in Beijing. Seven million tickets are available. Five million tickets are only for China. Each person can buy up to fifty tickets. Some tickets were sold earlier this year. The Opening Ceremony tickets have already been sold. Some people are selling illegal tickets.

6 Remembrance Sunday Remembrance Sunday was on the 11th November. Remembrance Sunday takes place in Britain every year. The day remembers people killed in war. There is a 2 minute silence at 11am. Thousands of former soldiers gathered in London. The Royal Family and Prime Minister were there.

7 Remembrance Sunday People laid poppy wreaths. Poppies are a special symbol for Remembrance Day. World War One ended on the 11th November World War One lasted four years. Millions of people died during the war. Remembrance Day is also about other wars.

8 Virus Found at Bird Farm A bird virus has been found at a British farm. The farm is between Norfolk and Suffolk turkeys, ducks and geese are infected. The infected birds have to be killed. This is to stop the virus spreading. Scientists have been inspecting the farm. Moving farm birds has been banned. It is not known how the birds became infected.

9 Oil Spill at Sea A terrible storm has wrecked an oil tanker. The tanker was near the Russian coast. Thousands of gallons of oil has spilled into the sea. The oil spilt between Russia and the Ukraine. Thousands of sea birds died. Hundreds of people are trying to clean up the oil. Ten other ships were destroyed in the storm. Twenty sailors are missing.

10 Man Marries Dog An Indian man has married his dog. An astrologist told him to marry his dog. The man killed two dogs fifteen years ago. He thinks this caused him bad luck. He believes marrying the dog will stop the bad luck. He had a Hindu wedding ceremony.

11 Cyclone in Bangladesh A huge cyclone has hit Bangladesh. At least 3000 people have died. Whole villages have been destroyed. Crops were also very badly damaged. Large areas are without electricity. Fallen trees have blocked roads.

12 Cyclone in Bangladesh Many fishermen are missing. Hundreds of thousands of people had to evacuate. International charities are giving out food and medicine. Soldiers and coastguards are helping to rescue people. Bangladesh has built special cyclone shelters. These shelters protect evacuees.

13 Film Review: Blades of Glory Blades of Glory is a comedy. The story is about two rival ice skaters. Both skaters are famous super stars. They are banned from ice skating after a fight. Years later, they return to ice skating. They are still banned from single's competitions.

14 Film Review: Blades of Glory Instead, they join the pairs competition. They are the first two man ice skating pair. They must become friends to win. But other ice skaters want to stop them. There are some very funny scenes. Blades of Glory has a 12 film certificate.

15 Film Review: Wild Hogs Wild Hogs is about four middle aged men. They are bored with their lives and jobs. They want new and exciting adventures. Together, they go away on a motorcycle trip. They ride from Cincinnati to the West coast. They swim and camp out in the woods.

16 Film Review: Wild Hogs But soon they meet a motorbike gang. The four guys stay at Madrid in New Mexico. But the gang wants to destroy Madrid. The film has some funny scenes. But the plot can be boring and predictable. Wild Hogs has a 12 film certificate.

17 Film Review: Contact The story is about an astronomer, Dr Ellie Arroway. She is trying to discover life in outer space. One day, she receives a signal from space. The signal is instructions to build a space ship. The ship will send an astronaut into space. Ellie and the space agency construct the space ship.

18 Film Review: Contact A mysterious man funds the ship's construction. But many people don't believe Ellie. Some try and stop the ship's construction. Ellie begins to question her beliefs. The film uses some incredible special effects. Contact has a PG film certificate.

19 Film Review: Wayne's World Wayne's World is a comedy. It is about two guys, Garth and Wayne. They host a TV show in their basement. The show is called 'Wayne's World'. They love rock music and ice hockey. Wayne's girlfriend is in a band.

20 Film Review: Wayne's World Wayne and Garth meet a television producer, Benjamin. Benjamin wants to buy their show. But he also wants Wayne's girlfriend. So he promises her a record contract. The film has lots of very funny scenes. Wayne's World has a PG film certificate.

34 Turkey with Almonds and Cheese Ingredients 750 grams cooked turkey 50 grams butter 75 grams whole blanched almonds 40 grams plain flour 750 ml milk

37 Turkey with Almonds and Cheese Method Preheat the oven to 190 degrees, gas mark 5. Chop the turkey. Arrange the turkey in a lightly buttered oven proof dish. Melt 25 grams of butter in the frying pan Fry the almonds for 2-3 minutes until golden. Add to the turkey.

38 Turkey with Almonds and Cheese Method Heat the remaining butter in the frying pan. Stir in the flour. Cook for 1 minute. Grate the cheddar cheese. Chop the parsley. Add all the remaining ingredients to the frying pan.

39 Turkey with Almonds and Cheese Method Mix well. Pour the sauce over the turkey. Grate the parmesan. Sprinkle on the grated parmesan. Place in the oven for 30 minutes. Recipe serves four people.
