Be aware that thicker Polyurethane foams used in the construction of Skill Cushions, Modular Pits, and Landing mats compress on impact creating a pocket at the impact location. While compression is a necessary result for a mat to absorb energy the pocket created from the impact can cause a phenomenon known as encapsulation. Encapsulation has been identified as a potential contributor to injury. It is the user s and/or instructor s responsibility to know their own limitations and abilities, as well as the limitations and ability of the student. Never use this mat as a substitute for a qualified spotter, spotting apparatus, or proper skill progressions. Always inspect this product before each use. If there are any signs of wear including but not limited to; holes or tears in the cover, or if the foam core shows signs of deterioration, soft spots, or tears discontinue using it. The life expectancy of this product is dependent upon the frequency and severity of impacts it is subjected to. If the user can compress this mat enough to feel the surface below, the mat should be discarded and replaced. If you are unsure of this products condition or its ability to function as intended, do not use it!
