1 Ma THE DAZZLER 144 Chester, Trinity and Leigh still lead the CWCL divisions after wet couple of weeks Changes to loan system introduced Oakmere score potentially massive win in T20 West Didsbury into knockout semi Cheshire fall just short in Durham CHESHIRE WOMEN S LEAGUE Division One June 19: Didsbury 40-8 (28.2; Leesa Mellon 14*, Kate Coppack 4-11, Hannah Snape 2-7) (10pts) Chester Boughton Hall dnb (12pts) None of the league matches today got past the end of the first innings as rain swept in. This match would have given Didsbury the opportunity to take over at the top of the table, with their only defeat so far being to Chester on the opening day, but in reality, Chester dominated what action was possible and underlined why they remain unbeaten in the league. Ashton-on-Mersey 61-6 (24.1; Vicki Dean 30, Natalie Lyons 2-6, Sarah Worsdale 2-6) (12pts) Oakmere dnb (11pts) Ashton-on-Mersey s good batting line up on paper is still failing to fire, although there were runs here for Vicki Dean. Ashton are yet to win a league match, while Oakmere have not won since an opening day success over the same opposition. It may be that these two sides are fighting it out to avoid the one relegation place. Division Two June 19: Astley Bridge 140 (40) (14pts) Stockport Trinity dnb (13pts) After conceding two early s, Astley Bridge are playing catch up, but had done well here and posted a total that may have tested their opponents Oxton (25pts) w/o Hawarden Park (minus 10pts) Division Three June 5 (late result) Lymm Oughtrington Park 27-9 (20; Kerry Knight 10, Ella Smith 3-2, Katie Hargreaves 2-2, Megan McKiernan 2-6) (2pts) Leigh 29-1 (3.3; Ellen Bradshaw 12*) (25pts) Leigh march on at the top after this comprehensive win June 12: Leigh 98-0 (20; Nicky Deane 56*, Sarah Perry 22*) (15pts) Bredbury St Mark s 5-1 (2) (10pts) (Abandoned) Leigh looked good for continuing their winning start to the year before rain brought an early conclusion Clubs please note that batting points in abandoned matches are allocated pro-rata. For example, Ashton-on-Mersey s score above of 61 in 24.1 overs is the equivalent of 101 in 40 overs and earns three points. If an innings in a rain shortened match lasts between 20 and 35 overs (in division 1/2), then one additional point is also awarded.
2 es that can still be re-arranged in Division Three. Clubs please advise of any new dates. Stockport G v Leigh Ground unavailability on part of home team Adjudication would be required Didsbury 2 nd XI v Stockport G Ground unavailability on part of home team Adjudication would be required Lymm v Didsbury 2 nd XI Unfit ground Record as cancelled, 8pts The League Committee meeting on June 15 decided to make some changes to the player loan system. With immediate effect, previous appearances for the League s representative XI will no longer prevent a player from being loaned, nor will appearances for senior county teams in previous seasons. The regulations simply now state that players who have played senior county cricket (or higher levels such as the Super League and international cricket) in the current season cannot be loaned. However, clubs should note that they need to consider the spirit of the game when loaning out players, and that loaning out some of their very best players could constitute a br of the spirit of the game, even if the player in question is not playing county cricket at present. The same criteria also apply to appearances for a club s 2 nd XI, i.e. players who have played senior county cricket (or higher) this season must only play 1 st XI cricket in the league. In addition, any loans authorised will now apply for the remainder of the season, unless the parent club specifically objects and wishes to stipulate a short-term loan. This means that the following players are free to play for the clubs listed below as and when they are required during the rest of the league season. (Note there is still no loan system for T20 competitions): Olivia Bailey Stockport Trinity to Stockport Georgians Amelia McKeown Leigh to Astley Bridge Georgia Bath Stockport Georgians to Stockport Trinity Becky Baldock Ashton-on-Mersey to Leigh T20 DIVISIONAL COMPETITION Western Division June 6: Oakmere Kats (15; Raffaella Rodighiero 27ret, Natalie Lyons 25ret, Shami Ahmed 25ret) Wistaston Swans 62-6 (15; Laura MacLeod 26ret, Rodighiero 3-9) (Restricted to 15 overs per side due to traffic accident in area) Oakmere put their indifferent league form aside as they recorded a huge total and a decisive victory. This result effectively ends Wistaston s chances of making it three titles in a row in this competition Eastern Division June 6: Appleton Tigers (20; Chloe Page 27ret, Sami Fowler 25ret, Anni Rashid 25ret, Alex Wilson 2-19) Bredbury Saints 44-8 (20; Olivia Horsfield 3-2, Jess Lewis 2-9) Appleton posted an imposing total, before Olivia Horsfield s excellent spell sealed their second win in this division es that can still be re-arranged in the Western Division. Clubs please advise of any new dates. In the end, it was not quite as close as it looked it would be with two overs to go, as Bhumika Doshi - a more than useful addition to their T20 squad hit 12 runs off the 19 th over to seal the deal. The first innings saw excellent spells from Hannah Jones and Leesa Mellon, and Nathalie Long was more than a handful for the Didsbury batsmen at the start of the reply. Jones steadied the ship and then Doshi s final flourish took Didsbury past their target. The two sides play again very soon in the T20 Divisional comp and another cracker is in store. es that can still be re-arranged in the Knockout Cup. Clubs please advise of any new dates as soon as possible. CHESHIRE SENIORS Royal London Women s One Day Championship Division Three June 12: Durham (26; Laura Ellison 52, Alisha Alleyne 34*, Sammi Short 2-20) (17pts) Cheshire (26; Hannah Gradwell 25, Lauren O Reilly 25, Bethany Walker 3-29, Helen Fenby 2-20) (5pts) (Restricted to 26 overs ) After a lot of waiting, a reduced overs game was possible from mid-afternoon, and Cheshire fell just short of the target.
