3 Eligibility - Test and Pre-requisites Competitors wishing to enter events during the skating season must meet the following and age prerequisites/deadlines: COMPETITIVE STREAM Test requirements requirement Before midnight of the closing date of entries Before July 1 st preceding the competition STARSKATE/ADULT STREAM/PRE-JUVENILE AND JUVENILE Test requirements requirement Before midnight of the closing date of entries Before July 1 st preceding the competition Any skater entered in an age-restricted category for which they are not age-qualified shall be disqualified and not permitted to change categories after the start of the competition. Entry fees shall not be refunded. Competition Entry Fees COMPETITIVE STREAM (Pre-Novice, Novice, Junior and Senior Singles): $95.00 per part short or free program STARSKATE STREAM (STARSkate, Pre-Juvenile, Juvenile, Adult, Special Olympic): $ Element events $ per entry Star 1 Free Skating $ per entry Star 2 and 3 Free Skating $ per entry Star 4 to Gold Free Skating (including Adults) $ per Pre-Juvenile and Juvenile events $ per entry Interpretive (including Adults) $ per skater per Interpretive Couples event $ per entry Special Olympics PLANNED PROGRAM SHEETS Planned Program Content sheets along with MP3 music file of each program must be submitted to the LOC by April 5 th, 2019 at the la. There will be a $20 fee charged for failing to submit Planned program or MP3 file by the deadline. Skaters will not be permitted to register at the competition until this fee has been paid and a Planned Program sheet along with a MP3 music file have been submitted. 3

10 ADULT INTERPRETIVE CATEGORIES Please note that skaters must submit, prior to the competition, a brief statement of the chosen theme. It is to be no more than 40 characters in length. Level 3 Women/Men For STAR athletes, who have completed CanSkate Stage 6. Refunds, Exhibitions and Skating Up REFUND OF ENTRY FEES: Entry fees shall be refunded only if the event is not held or if the entry is withdrawn before the date of closing of entries. If only one skater is entered in a category, that skater has the option to compete in the next highest category (if possible), skate an exhibition or withdraw from the competition. The LOC will contact the skater and the skater will have 48 hrs to convey their decision back to the LOC and this decision shall be final. If an answer is not received, the category will be cancelled. At the discretion of the technical representative, if there are fewer than three participants in a category with age divisions, this category may be combined with the same level of category with a different age division. Skaters wishing to skate an exhibition will be charged the regular skating fee. This fee will include feedback from the judging panel via the ISU report card. No medals are awarded for exhibition skates. 11
12 Schedule The schedule will be made available on the Skate Canada NB website. Electronic mail will also be the primary method of communication with Skaters and Coaches. Competition at all SCNB sanctioned events shall NOT commence before 8 am or be scheduled to conclude any later than 10 pm (4 pm on Sundays). Note that the Technical Representative and the LOC reserve the right to cancel categories for reasons of logistical constraints. Any such decision will be communicated accordingly to the membership via and/or the Skate Canada NB website. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE Any rules or communications published by Skate Canada or the ISU may have an impact on the announcement. 12
