5 ATTENTION New LAW Buyers PLEASE READ All buyers must be credit approved by March 17th in order to pay with a check. If they are not approved by Equity they will have to pay with a cashiers check or cash. Buyer Approval Application Procedure The following is a list of procedures that the market and office managers will follow to process all buyers approvals. 1. All buyers must fill out the buyer application or annual renewal form (unless paying with cash or cashier s check) prior to issuing a buyer number. If the buyer has purchased from other Equity markets then the office manager should contact the other market to verify his buyer approval. 2. Make a copy of the buyer s driver s license. (Required) 3. A First time buyer s approval application should be sent to Equity s Credit manager for processing. Equity s credit manager will communicate to the markets the approval or non-approval of the first time buyer applications. If financial limits are needed for the buyer s approval that will also be communicated to the markets. In the event that the buyer application is not able to be processed and the result communicated to the market, the market should only accept cash or cashier s check. 4. The annual renewal application can be processed by the market office manager. If NSF s or other negative information 2014 Wisconsin Commercial producer of the Year is provided back from the bank the office manager should contact Equity credit manager for final approval. 5. All buyers not approved will be required to pay with cash or cashier s check for their purchases. 6. In the event that an order buyer is wanting to act as an agent for another buyer, the order buyer and the buyer for which the order buyer is buying for shall complete the same original buyer application. These applications should be processed the same way as in item number 3. The order buyer that is acting as an agent must also sign his name as the buyer to the final bill of sale invoice, thus making him also responsible for the purchase of livestock. 7. Any livestock purchased prior to approval is not to be loaded until the buyer s application has been processed and approved unless the buyer pays cash or cashier s check. 8. Out-of-state buyers must have the application processed and approved in order to write checks for the purchase of livestock and we will only accept cash or cashier s check for purchases until the buyer application meets approval.
