34 The Warmwater Fishing Experience A great day of Warmwater fishing and fly tying with author and teacher Steve Hudson. Donated by Steve Hudson. Warmwate r Experience! An unforgettable day of warmwater fly fishing (and fly tying too!) for you and a companion, with writer and teacher Steve Hudson. H ave you ever dreamed about a day on the water where the wading is easy...where the fish are agreeable...where you may get hundreds of strikes?
35 Now that would be one heck of a trip! What if it also includes a little private streamside fly tying instruction too and a chance to fish with the flies you ve tied? If that sounds appealing, then THE WARMWATER EXPERIENCE is for you! The winner of this trip for two (you and a companion) will join fly fishing and fly tying author and teacher Steve Hudson for a day on the water wade fishing on Atlanta s north side. Steve is a great believer in the curative powers of warmwater fly fishing, and this trip will make you a believer too! You ll pick a mutually agreeable day in April, May, June or July and meet Steve at the stream about 9:00 a.m. to kick things off with some small-stream fishing. This first stream is ideal for 7.5- foot 2- to 5-wt. rods. Later, after a break for lunch, you ll enjoy some private streamside fly tying instruction, where you ll learn to tie a couple of great warmwater patterns. Then it s back to the water possibly, if conditions permit, to a second and larger stream that s a great place for your 8.5 or 9-foot 4- to 6-weight rod. Depending on the time of year, this second stream may offer bream, bass, white bass, and possibly even big hybrid or...! You ll fish into the late afternoon, then return to your car for the trip home. What to bring: a Georgia fishing license, your fly fishing gear, waders if you don t want to wade wet, and basic supplies such as leaders and tippet (4X and 5X is fine). You ll also need lunch money, good health, and the ability to enjoy a day of wade fishing. Steve will bring flies (and tying materials and tools) and will also provide great company and much enthusiastic cheering when you land one! This day will be about much more than catching fish. It really will be a trip that you ll remember for many years to come. To set up your adventure, contact Steve at (770) or at info@chattahoocheemedia.com.
