In 2004 he received the prestigious Tall Tale Tellers Award form the Southern Council of the Federation of Fly Fishers. Most recently John was awarded the Charles E. Brooks Memorial Lifetime Award by the Federation of Fly Fishers.

Bill Butts Bill Butts began a nearly five decade journey in the sport and arts of fly fishing on the lakes and trout streams of the Missouri and Arkansas Ozarks. Today, his total fly fishing focus is on the Temperate Basses Striped, Hybrid Striped and White Bass. Bill strives to share his passion and enthusiasm for fly fishing with anyone who requests his help, from newcomers to the sport to seasoned veterans wanting to broaden their horizons or hone their skills. He firmly believes the sharing attitude that permeates this great sport is the foundation that makes it so great. Bill has twice been a live internet radio broadcast guest on AskAboutFlyFishing.com, an ItinerantAngler.com podcast guest entitled "White Bass & Striper Master Class", and was a contributor to Dave and Emily Whitlock s February 2015, Fly Fisherman Magazine article, entitled The Other Bass. He speaks and writes on the subject for clubs, events and websites. Steve Dally Steve was raised on Australia s island state of Tasmania; in Aussie fly fishing terms the equivalent of being raised in Montana. But he'll tell you he squandered his youth in the salt, surfing, diving, and fishing for all manner of species including tunas. Finally convinced in his late 20s to grasp a fly rod, an obsession was born. He cut his teeth on the challenging wild brown trout and rainbows of Tasmania s wilderness lakes and streams before moving to the US in December A former journalist, Steve spent 3 years in the US as a traveling fly fishing writer and photographer, a job which saw him land, fly rod and camera in hand in Montana, Wyoming, Alaska twice, Baja, New York, Michigan, New Mexico, Idaho and finally Arkansas. The experience in tackling North American conditions was invaluable as he fished the mayfly hatches of the Henrys Fork, Firehole and Au Sable, caddis hatches on the Big Wood, chuck and ducked beads on the Kenai, stripped

streamers on the Beaverhead, splatted hoppers on Silver Creek, found himself tied to 40lb King Salmon on the Ayakulik, and roosterfish and snook in Mexico. His articles and photographs have appeared in several Australian publications and websites, and he remains a masthead columnist and regular contributor on tactics, destinations and fly tying with Australia and New Zealand s premier fly fishing magazine FlyLife. After flirting with guiding, and several job offers on his travels, Steve started guiding out of the Beaver Dam store, in '04 and ran the fly fishing department, building his knowledge of the White River system from Beaver to Norfork and a substantial and loyal guide clientele, before joining the Mountain River Fly Shop in Cotter in 07. Despite a serious and extensive fly fishing resume, Steve s laid-back Aussie accent and attitude, sense of humor and self-deprecating wit are appreciated by beginners and experienced fly fishers alike. His mantra is that fly fishing is meant to be fun whether you are catching the biggest fish of your life, tangling around the rod tip and everything in between. He's also been known to describe guiding as like a "duck swimming across the pond" _ all the hard work gets done our of sight to make the day as easy and relaxed as possible. Chuck Easterling Chuck is a retired Chief Deputy Prosecutor for the State of Arkansas. Chuck became a Certified Instructor in 1997, a Master Certified Instructor in 1999, and was elected to the IFFF Casting Board of Governors in Chuck has been called upon to do casting instructor certifications in New Zealand, Australia, Germany, Spain and Ireland as well in the United States. Since his retirement Chuck spends the bulk of his time at the family cabin on the Little Red River fishing, practicing Spey Casting and (unfortunately) doing yard work. Duane Hada Duane is a recipient of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission's "Master Angler Award" and is the first and only person to date to catch all qualifying fish on fly tackle. He has been featured on nationally syndicated shows such as "The Fishing Hole," and "Fly Fishing America" and most recently on American Fly Guide. In 1998 he coached the US Youth Fly Fishing Team to its first silver medal.

Duane has taught fly tying and fly fishing through several college and university courses and in conjunction with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission for many years, as well as having taught many individuals and club groups. He is a Federation of Fly Fishers Certified Casting Instructor. Duane's adventures have taken him to Alaska after trophy rainbows and salmon and to the Florida Keys for tarpon and permit. He has fished for redfish and "specks" in the Gulf of Mexico and exotic bonefish and trevally in the waters off Christmas Island. Despite fishing many exciting destinations, he still is at home and equally happy when he guides on the Arkansas tail waters and wild smallmouth bass streams that were his boyhood haunts. In addition to his expertise at fishing and guiding Duane is one of the countries most talented outdoor and angling artists. Misako Ishimura Misako was born and raised in Osaka, Japan. She moved to Manhattan, New York in the USA and started to fly fish in the Catskills. She studied with Joan Wulff, Floyd Franke, Andy Murray, Jiri Kilma, Pablo Castro, Mary Dette, Poul Jorgensen, Hisao Ishigaki, and many other anglers internationally to refine her skill of fly fishing and fly tying. Since 2000 she has taught and demonstrated fly fishing, fly casting and fly tying internationally. She is a fly fishing instructor, a painter and an author and promotes fly fishing because she believes in the spiritual benefits of being in the surrounded nature of fish. Misako started "Trout in the Classroom (TIC)" with Mrs. Joan Stoliar in 1996 as one of members of the Conservation Committee of Theodore Gordon Fly Fishers. Misako is certified by Federation of Fly Fishers and casts from a tenkara rod to a two handed rod in the various casting styles. Her motto is fly fishing the easy way. She concentrates on reducing physical stress in the caster to produce enjoyment and a relaxed experience.

Chad Johnson Chad grew up in Crystal Springs Mississippi and began coming to the White River area in 2003 to fish for trout and small mouth bass. He moved to the White River area in 2006 to pursue a career in fly fishing and joined Mtn. River Fly Shop in Cotter AR, which is now Dally s Ozark Fly Fishers. He bought a drift boat & began guiding on the White & Norfork Rivers in In the summer of 2007, Chad was also guiding at the Rocky River Lodge in Port Graham, Alaska for Salmon & Dollies and again in 2010 and working and guiding the rest of the year at Dally s. Chad s passion is pursuing big fish on big flies. LORI SLOAS Lori is one of a handful of female fly-fishing guides in the United States. Lori has an extensive background in counseling and corporate training that gives her a unique perspective that she uses in leading her popular ladies flyfishing classes. Lori is an intuitive instructor who quickly brings her students to ease. A natural caster, Lori brings intensity to the stream that produces fish for clients in the most adverse conditions. A lifelong angler she now devotes her efforts to fly-fishing, teaching as well as designing fly- fishing programs. She is a popular instructor that has presented seminars for the Federation of Fly Fishers, the Ducks Unlimited Great Outdoors Festival, the Sowbug Round Up, Becoming an Outdoors Woman, Casting for Recovery, Arkansas State University at Mountain Home, Fly Fishing Clubs and corporate groups throughout the region. Lori was Outreach Chair at the Federation of Fly Fishers Southern Council Conclave in She is a member of the North Arkansas Fly Fishers, the Damsel Fly Fishers and is a life member of the Mid South Fly Fishers and the Federation of Fly Fishers. She was the Federation of Fly Fishers Southern Council s Woman of the Year in 2006 and Federation of the Fly Fishers Southern Council s Outreach speaker in She was featured on the television show, Adventure Guides, on the Versus network (previously known as OLN). She was the cover story in Living Well magazine. Most recently was featured in Garden and Gun magazine as one of the top ten guides in the South. Shawn Taylor

Shawn began his flyfishing career in the mid 1980 s as a guide on the Kanektok and Alagnak rivers in Southwest Alaska. He moved his family to the North Fork of the White river in 1988 and began Taylormade River Treks, guiding on the all the area rivers and Norfork Lake. His wife, Christina, still runs the business, which is primarily a Bed and Breakfast for fly fishermen. Shawn has been a Certified Financial Planner for Thrivent Financial for the last 22 years and occasionally guides for long time clients. Besides fishing Alaska, he has been blessed to fish Alberta, the Bahamas, Central America, England, Mexico, New Zealand, the Florida Keys, and many states. A long time member of FFF, he has been a Certified Casting Instructor, treasurer of the Southern Council, and the 2002 Conclave Chairman. He s most Blessed to have three married children and five grandchildren. All of whom love the outdoors. Davy Wotton Davy s professional career began in the 1960 s as a professional fly tier from his home in Canterbury, Kent, United Kingdom. He started a mail-order business selling fly tying materials and in the 1970 s began to both develop and manufacture fly tying and fly fishing products and writing fly fishing related articles for publication. Davy is most widely known for the world famed SLF Dubbing Blend Series. In 2001, Davy sold SLF Dubbing Company to WAPSI Fly Company of Mountain Home, AR. Over the years he consulted for many of the worlds fly fishing product manufacturers and was contracted to design fly patterns which are now commercially produced and marketed both in the US and world markets still today. Davy has worked for many national television networks featuring fly fishing and tying in conjunction with Fly Fish TV and Mr. Gene Herring and also has produced his own Davy Wotton How To Fly Fish and Tying DVD s. Other major interests for Davy were competitive fly fishing where he won many national and international events and subsequently became the International Team Coach for the Youth Team USA which resulted in their

first year of competitive fishing in Wales bringing home both Gold and Silver Medals. The ones he considers personal best achievements are winning a Gold Medal at Loch Leven and the National Championships in the United Kingdom. Tournament fly and surf casting in both distance and accuracy also won Davy awards in the U.K and still holds the accuracy record to this day at the Edenbridge Gamefair, U.K Davy move from Wales to the United States in the 1990 s and now lives near the pristine waters of the White River which was first introduced to him by his longtime friend, Dave Whitlock. Davy is Managing Director of the American International School of Fly Fishing and is a member of many national and international organizations which support conservation and fly fishing education such as FFF, TU, APGAI, STANIC, NAC, AOGA, FWNR and NAFF. One thing that Davy is not so widely known for is his love of bluegrass music and that he traveled as a professional musician accomplished on both banjo and guitar. Steven Vorkapich Steve has been fly fishing since 1970 has fly fished in 15 different states including Alaska, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming. Born and raised in Northeast Ohio he has accumulated many hours on the Great Lakes tributaries fishing for Steelhead Trout, Salmon and Smallmouth Bass. Also has fished in many spring fed creeks for Brook Trout, Rainbows & Brown Trout. Steve has developed his own line of simple to use fly fishing items known as Float Master Products which can be purchased here at Sowbug Roundup and through many fly fishing shops throughout the US.
