It is also possible to start going south and finish by the north coast. 9

10 Detailed Itinerary Day 1 - Sainte-Flavie to Matane (63 km) Sainte-Flavie is the entrance to the Gaspésie. From there, you take the 132 road which runs along the seashore toward Matane. This first step, mostly flat, contains nevertheless some hills. Rest stops are available in Sainte-Flavie, Baie-des-Sables, Saint-Ulric and Matane. Day 2 - Matane to Sainte-Anne-des-Monts (87 km) From Matane, the road is more hilly. Rest stops are available in Petit-Matane, Sainte- Félicité, Grosses-Roches, Les Méchins, Capucins and Cap-Chat. Day 3 - Sainte-Anne-des-Monts to the Gîte du Mont-Albert (round-trip : 80 km) You will surely enjoy this excursion in the Gaspésie National Park. There are a lot of educational and recreational activities that can be done. Day 4 - Sainte-Anne-des-Monts to Mont-Saint-Pierre (53 km) Steeper in the beginning, the road follows the outline of magnificent coves. Rest stops are available in Tourelle, Cap-au-Renard, La Martre, Rivière-à-Claude and Mont- Saint-Pierre. Day 5 - Mont-Saint-Pierre to Grande-Vallée (59 km) Be careful, the road is difficult since it is sinuous, it runs along cliffs and is fairly uneven until you reach Petit-Madeleine. Rest stops are available in Saint-Maxime-du- Mont-Louis and Sainte-Madeleine-de-la-Rivière-Madeleine. After the hills of Petit- Madeleine, you can rest at a stopping place in Grande-Vallée. Day 6 - Grande-Vallée to Gaspé (Rivière-au-Renard) (63 km) The route is very hilly and quite complex, up to L Anse-au-Griffon. Rest stops are available in Pointe-à-La-Frégate, Saint-Yvon, L Anse-à-L Étang, Pointe-Jaune, Saint- Maurice-de-l Échouerie and Rivière-au-Renard. Day 7 - Gaspé (Rivière-au-Renard) to Gaspé (63 km) Around this area you will discover the headland of Forillon. The Forillon National Park of Canada offers a lot of activities for nature lovers. From Cap-aux-Os to Gaspé, the road is sheltered from violent winds. You will get a magnificent view of the Gaspé Bay. Rest stops are available in Cap-des-Rosiers and Saint-Majorique. 10

11 Day 8 - Gaspé to Percé (83 km) Steep and hilly itinerary. Be careful, especially a few kilometers before Percé. Rest stops are available in Saint-Georges-de-Malbaie, Barachois and Percé. Put away your bike and do the boat excursion to Bonaventure Island. Day 9 - Percé to Port-Daniel - Gascons (81 km) On the south side of the Gaspésie, the lanform becomes smoother than on the north side. Be aware before Newport, there is a downward curve with a high gradient. It has no shoulder for cyclists. Rest stops are available in Cap-d Espoir, Sainte-Thérèsede-Gaspé, Grande-Rivière, Pabos, Newport and Port-Daniel - Gascons. Day 10 - Port-Daniel - Gascons to Bonaventure (50 km) The roads in this area are quite flat, while you enter the Bay. Rest stops are available in Shigawake, Saint-Godefroi, Hope Town, Paspébiac and Bonaventure. Day 11 - Bonaventure to Carleton-sur-Mer (59 km) Undulating route offering a very nice view of the Baie-des-Chaleurs and the New Brunswick coast. Rest stops are available in Caplan, New Richmond, Maria and Carleton-sur-Mer. Day 12 - Carleton-sur-Mer to Matapédia (72 km) This is your last day in the Bay. Make the most of it! Rest stops are available in Nouvelle, Pointe-à-la-Garde, Pointe-à-la-Croix and Matapédia. Day 13 - Matapédia to Amqui (78 km) On that part of your trip, the landform is not very difficult. But the scenery is quite different. You will now enter the Matapedia Valley. Rest stops are available in Saint- François-d Assise, Saint-André-de-Restigouche, Routhierville and Lac-au-Saumon. Day 14 - Amqui to Sainte-Flavie (74 km) Last but not least, this part in which crosses the agricultural country goes back to Mont-Joli. Val-Brillant also known as, The Queen of the Valley, offers a splendid view of the Matapedia Lake. Rest stops are available in Val-Brillant, Sayabec and Sainte- Angèle-de-Mérici. Enjoy your ride! 11
