2 WELCOME TO THE GREATEST CLASSROOM ON EARTH YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK In 2011, the West Yellowstone Economic Development Council, Inc. (WYED) established the Yellowstone Studies Center (YSC). YSC is located just six blocks from Yellowstone s west entrance and near all West Yellowstone services. YSC provides a venue and support services for elementary, middle, and high schools and other educational organizations participating in experiential learning in Yellowstone including: Classrooms Indoor camping rooms Restrooms and showers Food preparation area Sitting/ lounge area Storage space High speed wireless.

6 FIELD TRIPS OR TOURS Old Faithful/ Canyon (Lower Loop) Encompasses many of the Park s most impressive thermal features in the Lower, Middle and Upper Geyser Basins and the awe inspiring Lower and Upper Falls of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone

7 FIELD TRIPS OR TOURS Mammoth Hot Springs/ Canyon (Upper Loop) View the fascinating north end of the Park including Mammoth Hot Springs, Tower Fall, scenic Dunraven Pass and the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone

8 FIELD TRIPS OR TOURS Earthquake Lake and Visitor Center Experience one of the outstanding scenic and geological study areas in the West. Re-live the Aug. 17, earthquake and massive landslide that formed Quake Lake. Visit the observatory for interpretive displays, scheduled movies and talks and walk the path to the Memorial Boulder

10 SUPPORT SERVICES PROVIDED YSC Facility Small classroom- Seats up to TV monitor, projector and screen, wall mounted glass dry erase board. Large classroom- Seats up to TV monitor, projector and screen, portable dry erase board + Xlip chart. Sitting/lounge area Food preparation area- 2 fridges, sink, stove/oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, crockpots, griddle, pots and pans, dishes and silverware for 40, paper plates, bowls, cups and plastic silverware, utensils, other supplies Storage space High speed wireless

11 SUPPORT SERVICES PROVIDED Indoor Camping 2 large separate rooms for males and females with sleeping cots and pads (Sleeping bags available for rent) Each room holds a maximum of 23 cots Separate male and female restrooms w/ 2 showers each (Towels + toiletries not provided) Cleaning, trash disposal and other support services
