3 Rebel Football Fan Policies The following policies and procedure concerning parking, tailgating, fan conduct and Sam Boyd Stadium are designed to help guide fans event planning and ensuring a family friendly, safe and enjoyable experience for all! Go Rebels! Access into the Star Nursery Fields: To gain access into the Star Nursery Fields before a UNLV Football game, patrons must have a ticket to the game. Patrons may be asked to show their game ticket to a UNLV official in order to gain entry into the Star Nursery Fields. Any fan that does not have a game ticket will not be allowed into the Star Nursery Fields and may be asked to leave the premises. Parking Policies: A $40 tailgating fee will be charged per car for all tailgaters entering the Star Nursery tailgating lot without a reserved space parking pass. No exceptions will be made. It is the responsibility of the reserved space holder on record to distribute parking passes to guests. For information on how to purchase a reserved tailgating space for the season, single games or special events at Rebel Football games, please contact (702)739-FANS. Recreational vehicles (RV s), buses, trailers, box trucks and all vehicles exceeding a length of twenty-two (22) feet and height of eight (8) feet are not allowed in the UNLV Star Nursery Fields. Commercial moving vehicles (U-Haul trucks, etc.) are also not allowed within the UNLV Star Nursery Fields. Parking areas for such vehicles are recommended in the South Lots, outside of the Star Nursery tailgate area in the surrounding parking lots. Contact Kenny Sasaki (702) for more information on RV parking over 22 feet. All parking lots at Sam Boyd Stadium will open 4 hours before kickoff. Free parking is offered in the South and East dirt parking lots. Parking passes are required for access into the paved parking lots adjacent to Sam Boyd Stadium (both West and East). Vehicles are not permitted to park in travel lanes on roads or parking lots. No tents or other items may be placed in travel lanes and saving spaces for other motorists is not permitted. Vehicles that are illegally parked and/or left unattended following the closure of the tailgate area are subject to removal at the expense of the owner. Golf carts, mopeds, scooters, ATVs and go carts are not permitted in all parking lots for safety reasons. Entertainment: DJ s and large speaker set ups are not allowed at your tailgate party. Small music devices and radios are allowed but must confined to your tailgate area and may not interfere will others. All portable music must be turned off by game time. Tailgaters are encouraged to contact UNLV Police Dispatch at (702) when music from another tailgate party becomes a nuisance. Catering and Food: Catering is allowed in the individual reserved spaces, and may be provided by the Thomas and Mack/Sam Boyd Stadium Food and Beverage Department. No outside catering companies are allowed on the premises unless approval has been given by the Food and Beverage department. For catering information and necessary department approval, contracts and waivers please contact the Thomas and Mack/Sam Boyd Stadium Food and Beverage department at (702) Alcohol Policy: Tailgating that includes the responsible and lawful use of alcohol is permitted inside the Star Nursery Fields within the parameters of University rules and protocols. The State of Nevada s minimum legal drinking age is 21 and law enforcement will stop anyone who appears to be underage and who is in possession of an alcoholic beverage. Any persons who appear intoxicated will be refused entry into the stadium and may be subject to further consequences by Law Enforcement. The University reserves the right to search patrons for alcoholic beverages before entry into Sam Boyd Stadium.
4 Beer trucks and open bars are not permitted inside the Star Nursery Fields unless authorized and arranged by the Thomas and Mack/Sam Boyd Stadium Food & Beverage Department. Contact for more information. Alcoholic beverages should be driven into the Star Nursery Fields with your vehicle and tailgate party. Alcohol from other parking lots will not be allowed be to walked into the Star Nursery Fields at any time during the tailgating hours prior to the game. Alcoholic beverages are sold inside Sam Boyd Stadium during all Rebel Football games and beverages from outside the stadium are not allowed inside. Sales of alcoholic beverages will be cut off at the discretion of UNLV Athletics and Sam Boyd Stadium staff. UNLV Athletics and Sam Boyd Stadium reserve the right to refuse the sale of alcoholic beverages. Tents: Due to limited space tents larger than 10 x 10 are not permitted unless approved by UNLV Athletics. With approval, tent(s) in excess of 200 square feet, or canopy(s) in excess of 400 square feet shall be permitted and installed in accordance with the requirements contained in the 2011 Clark County Fire Code and the Clark County Fire Prevention Guideline for Temporary membrane structures, tents and canopies. Temporary membrane structures, tents and canopies shall be used for a period of not more than 180 days within a 12-month period on a single premise. If a tent(s) exceeds these limits please apply for a permit at: Due to limited space oversized tents, bouncers, or any inflatable structure are not allowed in any Sam Boyd parking lots including the Star Nursery Fields without approval by UNLV Athletics. Staking or holes into the parking lots are not permitted. Failure to register an oversized tent or inflatable structure may result in immediate dismissal from the grounds by UNLV officials. If your group is using an outside tent vendor or retailer, please have them contact Kent Neilson of Sam Boyd Stadium at (702) for access to the Star Nursery Fields. Access will not be given unless previous notification is given. Prohibited Items: Prohibited items include: n Devices promoting/contributing to excessive consumption of alcohol are prohibited. n Glass containers n Fire Pits/ Bon Fires n Fireworks n Golf carts, mopeds, scooters, ATVs and go carts n Amplified music and speakers (IMG College corporate sponsors and CSUN exceptions) n Public address systems (IMG College sponsors and CSUN exceptions) n Excessively loud portable music that disrupts the tailgating experience of others. n No advertising vehicles or signs (without the consent of IMG College or UNLV Athletics.) n No apparel, souvenirs, food or beverage may be sold. (Concession provided by proprietor permitted) n Weapons n Balloons, blimps or other inflatables n Pets
5 Search Policy: For purposes of public safety and effective crowd management, the Sam Boyd Stadium, at its discretion, will conduct a search of guests attending an event. The magnitude and intensity of the search will depend on the type of event and the nature of the crowd attending. We are implementing a number of additional security measures for the protection of everyone at our games/events. We apologize for any inconveniences you may experience. Please be aware of the following: n Fans entering Sam Boyd Stadium may be subject to a security check by metal detecting hand wands. n Briefcases and pocketbooks will be allowed into Sam Boyd Stadium, but will be inspected at all entrance gates. n Large bags, coolers and large backpacks will not be allowed into Sam Boyd Stadium. n Once you have exited the facility, fans will not be allowed to re-enter for any reason. n There will be an increased security presence both inside and outside of Sam Boyd Stadium. This type of search is designed to be done as quickly and effectively as possible so as not to slow down the ingress of the crowd. Inappropriate items will include, but not be limited to, coolers, video cameras, food and beverages, laser pens and noise makers. (*Noise makers are not permitted per Mountain West Conference regulations) Barbeques: Open fires (i.e. fire pits, bon fires, etc.) are not permitted on any UNLV property. Gas and charcoal grills (for cooking only) are permitted, but charcoal must be taken from the tailgate area upon leaving. Owner assumes all responsibility associated with their grill. All grease and trash must be disposed of in the proper receptacles. Ignition of any type of fireworks is not permitted so as to not endanger persons, buildings, structures, property, brush, automotive vehicles and/or equipment, etc. Solicitation: Solicitations of any kind within UNLV facilities or on UNLV premises are prohibited unless specifically approved in writing by UNLV Athletics and IMG College, Inc. No banners, raffles or products (food, drink, apparel, etc.) from tailgate areas or parking lots may be shown, promoted, advertised or sold unless authorized by UNLV Athletics or IMG College, Inc. in advance of the event. Approval is only recognized if you have a letter approving your activity signed by the Associate Athletic Director or General Manager of the UNLV IMG College partner. Political signage that implies endorsement of any political candidate or any political issue may not be displayed nor may political materials be distributed without prior approval by UNLV Athletics. Corporate tailgates may identify the company on their site only with written approval by UNLV Athletics and IMG College, Inc. For more information please contact Eric Kovac, General Manager for IMG College, at (702) Handicapped Parking: Handicapped parking is located in the Scarlet lot on the Northwest side of Sam Boyd Stadium and the East Lot on the Southeast side of the stadium. There are a limited number of spaces available so a first come, first served basis is used. The lots are accessible by presenting a valid state issued handicap parking permit to stadium officials upon entrance. The handicapped individual must be in the vehicle when entering the lots.
6 Lost Items: It is the responsibility of each tailgate party to secure all personal items prior to entering the stadium. Security is not provided once game has commenced. It is strongly recommended that you lock up your valuables when entering the stadium. The UNLV Athletics is not responsible for any items left unattended at your tailgate. Refunds: Refunds for reserved space in the Star Nursery Fields are left to the discretion of UNLV Athletics. If you have any questions or concerns, please call Chris Bonnell at (702) or Conduct Code: The UNLV Department of Intercollegiate Athletics in a coordinated effort with UNLV Public Safety Department, Metropolitan Police Department, UNLV Office of Student Affairs, Sam Body Stadium Security Staff, the Mountain West Conference (MWC) and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) has a responsibility to provide a safe environment at all UNLV athletic events. The goals and objectives of the UNLV Football Tailgating Policies are to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment that will enhance and promote integrity, civility, ethical conduct and good sportsmanship amongst fans, students and players attending the game(s)/event(s). The UNLV Athletics does not condone behavior or actions that are contrary to the goals and objectives listed below. At its discretion, the University may terminate tailgate parties, or take other appropriate actions toward individuals, groups, or organizations whose conduct is in violation of or conflict with the outlined UNLV Football Tailgating policies and regulations, and/or local/state/federal ordinances or laws. Failure to comply with directions from UNLV officials (i.e. faculty, staff, or Sam Boyd Stadium staff) may result in initiation of UNLV Student Conduct Code proceedings: result in UNLV Student Conduct Code sanctions, and UNLV Police Department or LVMPD involvement. (See attached Sam Boyd Stadium Code of Conduct) Mountain West Conference Sportsmanship Agreement: UNLV is committed to the ideals of good sportsmanship and fair play. We ask all persons to please show respect for the opposing team, game officials and each other. Persons throwing objects or participating in other acts in conflict with good sportsmanship and fair play are subject to ejection. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated. Student Conduct: Students and/or student organizations must adhere to all conduct responsibilities set forth in the UNLV Student Conduct Code upon entering or occupying University-owned, leased, or controlled premises. Any student and/or student organization found in violation of the UNLV Football Tailgating Policies will be cited and/or referred to the UNLV Office of Student Conduct. Individual students and/or student organizations are subject to sanctions as outlined in the UNLV Student Conduct Code Guests must adhere to all UNLV rules, and the hosting student/student organization is responsible for all guests actions. It is the responsibility of the hosting student/student organization to inform the guest(s) of these rules. The host can be held financially responsible for the actions of a guest, and is subject to referral to the UNLV Office of Student Conduct for violations resulting from for guest behavior. In the University s sole and absolute discretion, guests may be prohibited from entering University property (Section Two, Article III, Student Conduct Code).
7 We want all Fans to Enjoy the Action and Excitement of the Event! We Expect all who enter Sam Boyd Stadium and its Surrounding Parking Lots to Adhere to this Code of Conduct. The Following Actions are Violations of the Code of Conduct and are prohibited: n Failure to follow the directions of law enforcement, security, ushers, ticket takers, or any other stadium personnel. n Fighting, taunting, or engaging in any action that may harm, endanger, threaten, or bring discomfort to anyone in the stadium. n Sitting in a seat other than one s ticketed seat location or refusing to produce one s game ticket upon request by stadium personnel. n Possession or use of any illegal drugs or irresponsible use of alcohol. n Loitering in concourses, aisles, tunnels or stairs. n Use of foul, abusive, or obscene language or gestures. n Damage, destruction, vandalism, or theft of any property. n Unauthorized use of disabled seating platforms or any seating designed for persons with a disability. n Engaging in any action that causes a disruption, creates an unsafe environment, interferes with the game, or hinders the enjoyment of the game for others. n Mistreatment of visiting team fans, including verbal abuse, harassment, profanity, confrontations, intimidation, or threatening behavior. n n Refusal to remove or turn inside-out clothing deemed offensive or obscene upon request by stadium personnel. Tailgating will end 30 minutes prior to the start of the game. Security and police will begin moving people out of the tailgating lots. Failure to follow this Code of Conduct may result in ejection/trespass from the stadium, revocation of ticket privileges, and/ or arrest. Although Season Ticket Holders may provide their tickets to others, the account holder of record is responsible for the actions of those using their tickets. All patrons are subject to search. All items brought into the stadium are subject to search. Refusal of any guest cooperation will result in non-admittance into the stadium. Management is not responsible for items left behind at the gate or items lost, stolen or damaged. This Code of Conduct is also posted on UNLVtickets.com and UNLVrebels.com Signature Date
