4 Corporate Challenge Co-Ed Dodgeball Rules PLEASE BRING EMPLOYEE / COMPANY ID!! 1. Teams will be made up of 6-10 players. Six (6) players will compete on a side; others will be available as substitutes. Substitutes may enter the game only in the case of injury. 2. A game can begin with four (4) or five (5) players with 1 being Female. 3. During each game, teams will play for the entire 18 minutes; once a team eliminates all members of the opposing team, the winning team will be awarded 1 point. After the point is awarded, both teams will begin a new match. The two teams will play with this format for the duration of the 18 minutes. At the end of the 18 minutes the team with the most points with the match. If the two teams have the same number of points at the end of the 18 minutes, there will be a sudden death. One player from each team is chosen and 3 balls are lined up on center line; all other game rules are in force. Both players are permitted to advance to quarter line; first player to get the other participant out will win the match. 4. Time clock will be a running clock. Clock will stop only for injuries. 5. The object of the game is to eliminate all opposing players by getting them OUT. This may be done by: A. Hitting an opposing player with a LIVE thrown ball below the shoulders. B. A thrower s attempt is caught by the opposing player. This also allows one member of the catcher s team to rejoin the game. C. You are out if you step past the end line while attempting to either catch or dodge a ball. D. You are out if you cross the middle line. Definition: LIVE: A ball that has been thrown and has not touched anything, including the floor/ground, another ball, another player, official or other items outside of the playing field (wall, ceiling, etc.) If you are out: A. Exit from the side line. B. You may retrieve balls for their team from behind the end line. You are not allowed to stand on the sides of the courts and throw/kick or retrieve balls. 6. Boundaries

5 During play, all players must remain within the boundary lines. Players may leave the boundaries through their end-line only to retrieve stray balls. They must also return through their end-line. 7. The game will start on the Officials signal. 8. Games will begin by placing the dodge balls along the center line four (4) on one side of the center hash and four (4) on the other. Players then take a position behind their end line. Following a signal by the official, teams may approach the centerline to retrieve the balls. This signal officially starts the contest. Teams may only retrieve the four (4) balls to their right of the center hash. Once a ball is retrieved it must be taken behind the attack-line before it can be legally thrown. 9. In order to reduce stalling, a violation will be called if a team in the lead controls half or majority of the balls on their side of the court for more than 10 seconds. This also applies to tied teams. 10. There will be a five (5) minutes grace period for the start of each game. Teams not ready to play by the end of this period will forfeit the game. Please note these rules can change before the start of the tournament. If that does happen you will be notified before the games begin.
