1 CURRICULUM VITAE: 1] PERSONAL PARTICULAR Name: Mary Alphonce Kishe-Machumu Current: Senior Research Scientist Place of Birth: Moshi, Kilimanjaro Citizenship: Tanzanian Address: Tanzania Fisheries Research Institute (TAFIRI), P.O. Box 9750, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Telephone: (office), (Mobile) Fax: ] KEY QUALIFICATION Dr. Kishe-Machumu is a Fisheries Ecologist with a PhD degree that conducts research and consultancy in Fish Ecology, Fish Biology, Fish Biodiversity and Conservation, Fish Stock Assessment, Aquatic Pollution, Water Quality, Climate Change Adaptation, Fish Quality and Safely. Mary has joined Tanzania Fisheries Research Institute (TAFIRI) in 1996 as a Research Scientist Grade III. Since then, she has been promoted gradually to the current rank of Senior Research Scientist. In previous assignments she has been assigned as National research team in the study of Fish Stock Assessment in Lake Victoria after the ban of trawls and under-sized mesh nets. The major task in this assignment was to provide a status of fish stocks in Lake Victoria, its ecology and biology. She was also involved as a Regional team member in the following projects: Lake Victoria Environmental Management Project (LVEMP), Implementation of Fisheries Management Plan Project in Lake Victoria (IFMP) and IUCEA-VicRes Project. Currently, she is participating in the implementation of National projects including Integrating Agriculture and Aquaculture for Increased Farm Productivity and Fish-Vegetable-Poultry integration. Dr. Kishe-Machumu is leading a team of experts in conducting the Lake Victoria freshwater biodiversity assessment specific in Kagera satellite lakes funded by IUCN/EAWAG and a Regional team member of a three years Regional Project on the Potential for aquaculture in Lake Victoria and implications for wild fisheries and fish commodity markets project funded by NSF 1
