5 Tom Weiskopf, a towering golfing talent Tom Weiskopf achieved a remarkable level of excellence during his thirty plus years on the PGA and Senior PGA tours with twenty-five victories including the coveted Open Championship in 1973 and the US Seniors Open Championship in Voted Player of the Year in 1973 he went on to win five tournaments in an eight week period an era record. Golf Digest described him as having a golf swing to die for, a mixture of grace and power. My game never has been too bad. It s all just a state of mind. That s all it is for any of us. Tom Weiskopf

6 The Feddinch course: personally designed by Tom WEiskopf My courses do not intimidate. Instead, they encourage the player to play well and become more open to the enjoyable aspects of the game. Tom Weiskopf Tom s true passion is as a golf course designer. His experience, creativity, commitment to detail and philosophy have earned him a distinguished reputation. He has designed sixty-five courses, seven of which have featured in the top 100 in world rankings. Accordingly, he is one of the most highly respected golf course designers in the world. Such is his intimate knowledge of the game, Tom is frequently called upon to appear as a television analyst with CBS Sports and ESPN, which provide coverage of the US Open and the Open Championship. 9 REFLECTING THE TRUE ST ANDREWS GOLF EXPERIENCE An artist s impression of the 14th hole. Working with the natural balance and flow of the land, our world-class course has been designed to deliver a genuinely timeless playing experience. Another unique feature of the course is the challenging 19th bye-hole, which allows matches to be determined without returning to the first tee. Golf is deceptively simple and endlessly complicated. Arnold Palmer The large double green immediately in front of the clubhouse, along with the revetted bunkers on every hole, pays homage to the renowned St Andrews golf experience. With soft rolling undulations, a variety of steps and collection areas, shots into the greens will require a high degree of precision. To assist members in fine tuning their game, Tom has also designed a magnificent practice facility, comprising a 400 yards long range with a variety of targets, as well as a special short game area, featuring a number of challenging bunker styles. Furthermore, there is an extensive and meticulously prepared practice putting green, constructed to reflect authentic on-course conditions.

10 St Andrews and the Feddinch heritage Known as the Home of Golf, with the famous Royal and Ancient Golf Club and Scotland s oldest University, which recently celebrated its 600th anniversary, St Andrews is a small town with a sizeable reputation all over the world, boasting ancestral links and long standing connections with the Royal family. The town has a fascinating character, featuring narrow alleys and cobbled streets, a ruined cathedral and a spectacular castle overlooking the dramatic sea and beaches. The Feddinch estate overlooks The Auld Grey Toon of St Andrews and is steeped in the history of golf s most famous town. Its first recorded owner, in 1178, was Canon Roger of Feddinch, kinsman and supporter of the Bishop of St Andrews. The Lindesay family owned Feddinch for most of the 18th and 19th centuries. They eventually sold it to the Dundee indigo tycoon Josiah Patrick Wise, who passed it on to his nephew, David Wedderburn Thoms, in In 1925, Feddinch was inherited by David s niece, Somerville Dollie Catherine Barclay-Graham, who married the youngest son of another gentrified family, John Graham Barns-Graham of Carbeth. The couple had three sons, and the second one, Jock, inherited the Feddinch estate. Jock s eldest son, John Charles Barns-Graham now resides in New Zealand and is an enthusiastic supporter of the Feddinch Club. I would like to give the Feddinch venture our total support for a successful future. I will always remember the superb views over St Andrews, and thinking about more people being able to share those views, while playing their favourite game, golf, makes me very happy. Michael Bowes Lyon, the 18th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne Your INVITATION FROM THE 18th EARL OF STRATHMORE AND KINGHORNE Membership of the Feddinch Club is by personal invitation of the club s Honorary President, Michael Bowes Lyon, 18th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne. The Bowes Lyon family is an old and noble one. Sir John Lyon came to Glamis in the 14th century and built a Royal hunting lodge on the estate, which over the centuries evolved into Glamis Castle. Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, whose father was the 14th Earl of Strathmore, spent much of her girlhood at Glamis. The present Earl, who is a first cousin once removed of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, inherited the title in 1987 and takes an active role in the management of the Strathmore Estate.

12 Private Hospitality AT GLAMIS CASTLE Glamis Castle s fascinating history weaves together Scottish aristocracy and royalty, the British Royal Family and local legend. King Malcolm II may have been murdered here in the 11th century, and there is said to be a secret room where a nobleman played cards with the Devil. Most famously, it is also the setting for Shakespeare s Macbeth. As a member of the Feddinch Club, you will have privileged access to this wonderfully romantic home, enjoying private dinners in the State Banqueting Hall by the light of a roaring log fire.

13 ENJOY TIMELESS COUNTRY PURSUITS To accompany the remarkable golfing experience at Feddinch and at the numerous nearby fine courses, our members will also have access to other traditional outdoor activities including driven game shooting, red and roe deer stalking, salmon and trout fishing. The Club will have several days for such activities and in particular will host a number of special days of driven pheasant shooting at the Strathmore Estate. For those so inclined and at specific times of the year, to add to the enjoyment of the vacation, weekly events embracing golf, shooting and fishing will be organised. Most forms of additional country pursuits are available and the concierge staff will ensure arrangements are made to maximise member enjoyment.
