10 Inspired by the great parkland courses of Europe and North America, Earth - the home course of the DP World Tour Championship sets the scene for an incredible experience. The rolling fairways, brilliant white bunkering and deep red-ochre landscape are framed by a myriad of trees and shrubs, making each hole picture perfect. This abundance of nature is complemented by the many lakes which dot the course, and which are home to a wide variety of wildlife. The memorable journey through Earth is concluded on the famous Golden Mile, over which the last four holes are played alongside or over water, culminating in the meandering creek that runs the full length of the final hole.

It is more than just a golf teaching facility; it is in effect a center of excellence for personal well-being. 22 DP WORLD TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP With the launch of The Race to Dubai in 2009 and The DP World Tour Championship being played over the Earth course, Jumeirah Golf Estates has quickly become established as the setting for The European Tour s spectacular season-ending finale. In its inaugural year, Lee Westwood became the first player to win both The Race to Dubai and The DP World Tour Championship. In recent years, Europe s top 60 players have battled Earth with the role of honor including many World No.1 golfers saw Rory McIlroy repeat Luke Donald s remarkable feat of winning both The European Tour s Race to Dubai and the US PGA Tour money titles as well as a second Major Golf Championship. His superb 23 under par performance on the Earth course sealed an amazing season culminating with the DP World Tour Championship victory in emphatic style. In 2013 Jumeirah Golf Estates Brand Ambassador, Henrik Stenson managed the same feat with an emphatic victory of which the highlight was his magnificent 2nd shot to the 18th green which also won European Tour Shot of the Year. In 2014 Henrik made it back- to-back victories in the tournament and also retained a golf title for the first time. With Jumeirah Golf Estates confirmed as the host venue for the European Tour season-ending Championship until at least 2017, the excitement both on and off the course is set to continue well into the future.
