2 About First played in 1988, the Victorian Golf Foundation Annual Golf Day was played at The Royal Melbourne Golf Club each year to raise funds for the Educational and Golf Development of talented Victorian Junior Golfers and junior golf development projects and initiatives undertaken within Victoria. Previously known as the Queen Elizabeth Trophy and the Foundation for Young Australians event, the Victorian Golf Foundation Annual Golf Day was an event for all Victorian club golfers run in partnership between The Royal Melbourne Golf Club and the Victorian Golf Foundation/Golf Victoria. Golf Victoria are proud to announce that from 2016, this event will have been renamed the VGF Paul Rak Memorial Trophy Day in honour of the late Paul Rak AOM who passed away in September Paul was highly regarded in the golfing community for his outstanding commitment to golf in Victoria and for his contribution at both The Royal Melbourne Golf Club (CEO for 8 years) and Kingston Heath Golf Club (GM for 14 years). The winner on the day (best overall score) will be presented with the perpetual VGF Paul Rak Memorial Trophy. This trophy will be engraved with the winners name each year and will be permanently displayed in the Club trophy case at Royal Melbourne. Event Format Monday 10 July- West Course AM FIELD 6:30am Registration opens 7:20am Player briefing 7:45am Play commences 4BBB Stableford 12:30pm Lunch 1:15pm Men s AM & Women s field presentations (approx.) *Note: All women pairs are paired in the AM field. PM FIELD 11:00am Registration opens 11:15am Lunch commences 12:05pm Player briefing 12:30pm Play commences 4BBB Stableford 5:15pm Men s PM Field & Mixed field presentations (approx.) *Note: All mixed pairs are paired in the PM field. Trophies Trophies will be awarded to: Men s Winners & Runners-Up (AM & PM) Women & Mixed: Winners & Runners-Up Presentation All trophies will be presented immediately after the conclusion of each field. 3 Lunch Morning field Players will be served a two-course lunch in the clubhouse following the completion of their round from approx 12.30pm. Afternoon field Players will be provided with a light lunch in the clubhouse from 11.15am. Complimentary finger food/snacks will be available to all afternoon players at the conclusion of the round. Scratchings Any player wishing to scratch prior to Friday 7 July 2017 must ring GV tournaments on After this date please call the GV mobile (Glenn) on Course Map Players are requested to familiarise themselves with the course map to avoid any delay in commencement of play from allocated holes. Note: Drinks will be at each player s own expense.

4 Registration All competitors are required to report to Golf Victoria representatives inside the clubhouse upon arrival at the course. Players must then be present on the appropriate tee no later than 10 minutes prior the tee time. Handicaps All players must ensure that their current and correct daily handicap is recorded on the scorecard in accordance with Rule 6-2b. Players must play from their DAILY handicap during the Championship. In addition, all pairs must ensure that each hole score is clearly marked and individually identifiable in accordance with Rule Scorecards All score cards are to be returned to the registration area immediately at the conclusion of play. Dress Regulations & Mobile Phones Please visit the Royal Melbourne Etiquette page. All players & caddies are required to adhere to the Club s dress regulations with particular reference to the link above. Course Care / Club Regulations Players are reminded that sand buckets MUST be taken and used and pitch marks are to be repaired. Mobile phones are not to be used in the clubhouse or on the course unless in the case of an emergency or a ruling during the round. Play will be from the nominated tee markers. Any player not complying with these requirements will be subject to action in accordance with the GV Code of Conduct. Motorised Carts Competitors are permitted to ride in or on a motorised vehicle during the Event. It should be noted that the use, hire or provision of such transport is at the competitor s own expense subject to arrangements and agreements with The Royal Melbourne Golf Club. Slow Play Rule 6-7 will be strictly enforced. Each group must maintain its position on the course with respect to the group preceding them. Any group with a clear hole in front of them will be considered out of position. Penalties will be issued to individuals in such groups who by their pace contribute to such delay. Warnings may not be issued prior to penalties. Refunds Any entrant may withdraw and have the entrance fee refunded provided notification is received within three working days prior to the event (Wednesday 5 July 2017). Under no circumstances will entry fees be refunded after this date unless players can provide Golf Victoria supporting documents regarding their withdrawal from the event (ie. Medical certificate). Safe thru 18 First Aid Information Guide for Golfers Golf Victoria is aware that occasionally situations arise out on golf courses where first aid or emergency action is needed, and often golfers are unsure of the best way to respond. A compact and comprehensive first aid guide titled Safe thru 18 has been developed in a format that can easily fit into a player s bag. This guide provides information covering many situations that players may face out on course, both critical and common. A PDF version of the Safe Thru 18 guide can be obtained via the following link: In addition a complimentary Safe thru 18 guide will be available for all players at registration. Additional copies can be purchased through the Golf Victoria office for $1 per guide. Golf Victoria stresses that Safe thru 18 is not designed as an alternative to a first aid course and we encourage all clubs and members to consider taking a professionally delivered first aid course. Further Conditions For further conditions please consult the Event Entry Form and GV Standard Event Conditions. Suspension of Play In the event of heavy rain, lightning or for any other reason, the Championship Committee will be responsible for deciding whether to suspend play. The signal for suspending play will be one short siren blast. The procedure when play is suspended is outlined under Rule 6-8b. When the course is ready for play, players will be advised to return to various locations. The signal for the resumption of play will be one long siren blast.
