6 6th TYGA North Carolina Middle School Championship Badin Inn Golf Resort and Club Badin, NC Salisbury Academy of Salisbury came from behind to win the 6th NC Middle School Championship hosted by Badin Inn Golf Resort and Club. Salisbury Academy s two day total of 637 was good enough for a four shot victory over West Pine Middle of West End. Finishing in third place was Cramerton Middle of Cramerton. The team score is determined by the best four scores from the team of up to six players. In the boys division, Zachary Martin of West Pine Middle in West End captured the boys title with a two day total of one under par-141 on the Ellis Maples designed 5380 yard par 71 golf course. Finishing one shot back at even par was Erik Benson of Park Ridge Academy in Albemarle. Casey Ward of A.L. Stanback Middle in Chapel Hill won the girls title with a two day total of 157. Ward finished two shots ahead of Taylor Allison representing River Road Middle in Elizabeth City. This annual junior championship is conducted by the Tarheel Youth Golf Association, a division of the Carolinas Golf Association.
