The magnificent Barnbougle Dunes Golf Links near Bridport, a true seaside links in the authentic Scottish style, is widely acclaimed as one of the nation s finest golf courses. Tasmania Golf Course, Barilla Tasmania offers some unique golfing experiences. At the Tasmania Club in Hobart, you ll tee-off on the challenging third hole, modelled on the famous 18th at Pebble Beach. The Claremont Golf Course, on a scenic peninsula jutting into the River Derwent, has views of the river and Mt Wellington from all nine holes. And for pure spectacle, there s the amazing par 3 eighth hole at the Tasman Club, near Port Arthur your tee shot has to reach a pocket-handkerchief green on the far side of a deep chasm, where vertical sea cliffs plummet down to surging ocean swells and tossing bull kelp, far below. The Chasm Tasman Golf Club, Tasman Peninsula Australia s first golf course on the grazing property Ratho at Bothwell is still in use today, and the Bothwell Golf Club, on the edge of the Central Highlands, is home to the Australasian Golf Museum, with the largest display of historic and modern-day golfing memorabilia outside of St Andrew s, Scotland. 4 Australasian Golf Museum, Bothwell KING ISLAND Currie 20 Naracoopa Yarra Creek Grassy 51 The museum, situated in the rural town of Bothwell, was started in 1996 by former Australian Amateur Champion, Peter Toogood. Memorabilia dates from 1880 and includes items such as photographs, trophies, golf equipment and clothing. Nearby is Ratho Golf Links, the oldest golf course in the Southern hemisphere.
