1 WELCOME TO THE CLUB The purpose of the CLS 2 CLUB is to raise money for Central London Samaritans. We face some significant income and cost challenges and need as much support as possible. Please help CLS and subscribe to this CLS 2 CLUB The Listening Lottery. For the payment of 1 each month, you will be entered into a monthly lottery draw with fellow Members of the CLS 2 CLUB. Each draw will have the following prizes:* 1 ST PRIZE: 25 2 ND PRIZE: 1 3 RD PRIZE: 5 EXCEPT IN DECEMBER WHEN THE 1 ST PRIZE WILL BE 1, * subject to the number of Member Draw Numbers sold each month see Note 14 & 18 in the club rules. For the MODEST CONTRIBUTION OF 1 A MONTH (or 12 annually) you will not only be SUPPORTING THE VALUABLE WORK OF CENTRAL LONDON SAMARITANS but also giving YOURSELF THE CHANCE OF WINNING SUBSTANTIAL CASH PRIZES each month. 2 CLUB RULES The Rules of the CLS 2 CLUB are as follows: 1. The name of the lottery draw is the CLS 2 CLUB ( the Lottery ) regardless of the number of Member Lottery Draw Numbers issued. 2. The purpose of the CLS 2 CLUB is to raise money for Unrestricted Funds ( the Charity ). 3. The CLS 2 CLUB will be operated under the Small Societies Lottery Regulations and licensed by Westminster City Council Licence Number: 16/2881/LILN. 4. The Lottery will be administered by The Promoter appointed by CLS Trustees Committee being an Officer of the Charity so appointed. 5. All profits made by the CLS 2 CLUB will be given and used by the Charity in accordance with its charitable objectives. 6. The Lottery will have an average of 2 subscribed Members (sometimes more sometimes less) who must be over the age of 16 years. (It is a criminal offence for anyone to join the CLS 2 CLUB lottery who is under the age of 16 years). 7. The membership subscription will be 1 per month, payable annually in a single payment of 12 in advance or by monthly Standing Order (minimum 6 months) on the 1st of the month. Payment can be made by cheque sent directly to us or by taking the Standing Order Mandate to a branch of your Bank or Building Society (with your Debit/Cash Point Card) or by Bank Transfer or by setting up the Standing Order online if you use Internet Banking. You will find our Bank details on the CLS 2 CLUB Standing Order Mandate. Please use the Reference: CLS2CLUB/Your Surname. On receipt of a single annual payment or notification of a bank transfer or confirmed establishment of a monthly Standing Order the applicant the Member will be allocated a CLS 2 CLUB Member Lottery Draw Number. Members may have and are encouraged to have multiple subscriptions if they wish. Members are also encouraged to get family and friends to join the membership and receive their own Draw Number on payment of their membership fee. For each additional 1 paid per month an additional Draw Number will be allocated. The more Draw Numbers we sell, the bigger the potential prizes! CLS2MbrPck-Rev3.1-Sep16

3 CLUB RULES 8. Draw Numbers will be allocated in sequence when applications are received. No preference for a particular number will be granted. 9. Members joining date will be the day of the clearance of the annual payment or the day the first Standing Order payment is scheduled and received into the CLS 2 CLUB Bank account. 1. Each membership will be allocated a Draw Number for the monthly draw which shall remain the Member s permanent number provided their subscription is up to date prior to each monthly draw. 11. The winning numbers will be drawn on the 1th of each month or the next business day thereafter, but this may be changed to coincide with special events. This will allow adequate time to check the amount received in any month. The monthly winning numbers will be drawn in the following order: 1st prize, 2nd prize and 3rd prize. 12. Winners of prizes will be notified by or post and paid by cheque and the results of the draws, including the full name of the winners, will be available for inspection at the branch and published on our website. Any prize cheque not cashed within 6 months will be deemed a donation to the Charity. The Promoter will not pay or send a prize to any participant other than the purchaser of a winning number details held on file at the time of the draw. 13. The CLS 2 CLUB year will run from 1st April to 31st March in line with the financial year of the Charity. 14. The monthly prizes will be dependent on the number of Draw Numbers allocated but it proposed that this will be around 5% of the amount raised each month less expenses which must not exceed 1% of the total proceeds in any 12 month accounting period. 15. To be entered for the big December 1st prize draw, all participants must have made 3 months contributions for each Draw Number held to be entered. Any new Member who has been a member for a shorter time may take part but will need to pay 1 per month for the number of months by which their contributions are short. All fully prepaid annual memberships will be automatically entered into the December draw. 16. The draws will be conducted by 3 people, at least two of whom will be CLS Committee Members. Members of the CLS 2 CLUB have the right to attend the draw and view the financial records. CLS2MbrPck-Rev3.1-Sep16

4 CLUB RULES 17. No CLS 2 CLUB participant will be included in the draw if the appropriate subscription has not been received by the 5th business day of the month in which the draw is taking place. The Promoter reserves the right to reallocate any Draw Number(s) where payment has not been received on time. 18. In the event of there being less than 2 participants for any length of time, prizes shall be awarded on a pro rata basis of the actual number of allocated Member Draw Numbers at the time of the draw. In order to ensure an equitable distribution of prize money in the event of there being less than 2 club members paying throughout the year, 5% of the subscriptions received each month will be set aside to fund the larger December 1st prize. 19. Members can cancel their entry into the CLS 2 CLUB Lottery at any time by giving one month s written notice to the Promoter (and if paying by Standing Order, they should also inform their bank). Any decision by the Charity to wind up the CLS 2 CLUB will also be by one month s written notice. Under no circumstances can any payments be refunded. 2. A separate bank account has been opened for the CLS 2 CLUB into which all receipts will be paid and from where cheques for prize money and profit funding to the Charity will be issued. 21. A register will be kept of members, prizes paid out, expenses incurred and funds paid over to the Charity s Unrestricted Funds. The Accounts will be audited each year and open for inspection. 22. The Trustees of may amend or vary these Rules of the CLS 2 CLUB at any time, as may be necessary. The Rules will be available via the Charity s Website. Changes will be notified to Members as and when they may occur. 23. In the event of a dispute the Branch Management Committee s decision will be final. Important: It is an offence to join the CLS 2 CLUB if you are under the age of 16 years If you would like to be self-excluded from the CLS 2 CLUB lottery please contact The Promotor.
