1 THE SCOTS COLLEGE Role Description Oval Greenkeeper "In seeking to serve God faithfully, the Scots College exists to inspire boys to learn, lead and serve as they strive for excellence together Scots to the Fore: Brave Hearts, Bold Minds Our Strategic Intent Position Title: Oval Greenkeeper 2. Role Purpose: The College Oval Greenkeeper provides management and support for Oval Greenkeeping requirements for the whole College. The Oval Greenkeeper role is responsible for maintaining a high quality level of oval readiness for summer and winter sports with special focus on Cricket (summer) and Rugby (winter). The Oval Greenkeeper will be responsible for scheduling, planning and organising all facets of Oval Greenkeeping to a high level including working with Gardeners. The Oval Greenkeeper will deal with vendors, arrange all Oval Greenkeeper supply purchasing, upkeep of tools and manage onsite contractors. The Oval Greenkeeper will be responsible for developing an Oval Greenkeeping vision for the College along with an annual Oval Greenkeeping budget. The Oval Greenkeeper will be part of the Facilities and Maintenance team and operate with Sports and other staff as needed. 3. Location: Bellevue Hill 4. Responsible To: Facilities and Maintenance Manager 5. Principal Relationships: Facilities and Maintenance Manager, Director ICT and Services, Facilities Administrator, Director of Sports, Sports Master 6. Key Accountabilities: Day to day support and management of all College ICT Oval and Greenkeeping requirements

Key Tasks and Expected Outcomes (Indicates Primary Responsibility): Position Core Activities Responsibilities Documentation Create, contribute, update and manage any policies related to Oval Greenkeeping at the College Create and maintain processes and procedure documentation for all aspects of Oval Greenkeeping at the College Provide one quarterly Oval Greenkeeping report detailing work completed, work outstanding, issues to be aware of and plans Manage all Oval Greenkeeping purchasing, vendor relations, contracts, budgets and ensure all key documentation is digitised, organised and stored on College Google drive system Create and update Oval Greenkeeping schedule of work, in priority order, for all College ovals. Create an Oval SLA as part of Facilities/Maintenance Services Manage all Oval Complete all Oval Greenkeeping work at the Greenkeeping College and /or arrange and manage solutions works for the Ensure any cricket wickets required (practice or College production) by Director of Cricket or Sportsmaster are delivered on time for hand over and to a very high standard Ensure any Rugby fields required (practice or production) by Director of Rugby or Sportsmaster are delivered on time for hand over and to a very high standard Ensure any Football fields, onsite or offsite, required (practice or production) by Director of Football or Sportsmaster are delivered on time for hand over and to a very high standard Key Performance Indicators List the measures used to determine achievement of activities The College will have complete, up to date, documentation for all facets of Oval Greenkeeping at the College clear vision and strategies for high quality solutions for the College Ovals and Greenkeeping a well resourced solution for all Oval Greenkeeping projects and works at the College a clear, well
3 In consultation with Facilities and Maintenace Manager develop a College Oval Greenkeeping vision statement and document to guide all future Oval Greenkeeping initiatives Ensure the College Ovals are always presentable, clean and free of clutter & litter Manage the transfer from Winter sport to summer sport including Goal post placement and removal Purchase and maintain a high quality set of Oval Greenkeeping tools and Oval Greenkeeping supplies for use at the College Produce an annual Budget for all Oval Greenkeeping at the College Produce an annual schedule of Oval Greenkeeping works Manage all Oval Greenkeeping vendor relationships and contracts Ensure quality assurance checks are completed on any Oval Greenkeeping work done by external contractors Manage WHS for all Oval Greenkeeping works. Ensure WHS guidelines and policies are followed for all College Oval Greenkeeping works As required work with Facilities staff, including Gardeners to complete delivery of Oval Greenkeeping services Operate and maintain Oval area irrigation equipment and systems. Undertake any landscape and field renovation works as required Operate a range of tools, plant and equipment. Maintain tools, plant and equipment in serviceable and safe conditions Ensure all relevant records are noted and maintained Operate and assist with maintenance of Grounds equipment maintained schedule of Oval Greenkeeping works an informative quarterly Oval Greenkeeping report
4 Assist Horticulture Staff when required with the preparation and maintenance of all landscaped and gardened areas Manage Oval Greenkeeping tickets Assist with General Maintenance Manage all Oval Greenkeeping requests via the College Services ticketing system As directed by the Facilities and Maintenance Manager and/or Director of ICT and Services, work with General Maintenance team to complete General Maintenance work tickets as required. The College will have a simple process for staff requesting Oval Greenkeeping work which will be delivered in a timely and professional manner The College will have capacity to deliver timely level of general maintenance service in peak times The Scots College occasionally requires employees to work after hours to finish projects or carry out Facilities and Maintenance tasks. The Oval Greenkeeper must be able to occasionally stay back after hours to finish these tasks. The Oval Greenkeeper, if and as required, must be able to travel to other College campus locations and occasionally may be required to stay overnight. The Oval Greenkeeper must be physically able to contribute to an active Facilities and Maintenance department when needed (Ability to lift 30KG, Ability to walk a reasonable distance, Climb up or bend down and work). This role is predominately an outdoors role and operates all year round. 8. Essential Selection Criteria: Minimum certificate III in Greenkeeping or other related field Certificate in chemical handling/spraying Related Workplace Health & Safety Certificates Demonstrate capacity and willingness to align with and support the values and mission of The Scots College in everything they do both onsite or offsite while representing the College in any way Demonstrate capacity and willingness to comply with all College policies Demonstrated commitment to the development of best practice strategies in all aspects of College Facilities and Maintenance operations

Special Conditions and Requirements: Available and prepared to work weekends and out of hours work especially on event days This is extremely important in the build up and commencement of First Eleven Cricket matches Personal Protective Equipment must be worn at times as a requirement of this role 11.
