1 Veneurheilijat ry Kalevala Race KALEVALA RACE ADVANCE PROGRAM European Championship T400 and JT250 This event is registered on the U.I.M. Calendar 2006 as a Continental Race EC T400 and JT 250. Nordic Championship O250, National juniorclass SJ15 1. ORGANISER Veneurheilijat ry with the authorization of Finnish Boating Association (license number 5/2006) 2. PLACE OF THE RACE The race event will take place at Kuhmo, about 600 km NE from Helsinki near Russian border (nearest big town is Kajaani) Lake Lammasjärvi c/o Hotelli Kalevala Väinämöinen 9, Kuhmo 3. CLASSES / STATUS - T 400 European Championship event no entry fee - JT 250 European Championship event no entry fee There will also be races: Nordic Championship event entry fee 100 euros - SJ15 Finnish National Championship event entry fee 60 euros Boats have to be in accordance to U.I.M. Circuit Rule Book. The race will take place if there are at least 5 drivers/class. 4. CIRCUIT T400 Race circuit is a 1500 m five pin course. There is one right hander. See enclosed map of the course, 10 laps. JT250 Race circuit is a three pin course, 8 laps (1020 m) O250 Race circuit is a four pin course, 8 laps (1440 m) SJ15 Race circuit is a three pin course, 8 laps, (1020 m) and is carried out by Junior Finnish Championship -rules. Start will be from a start pontoon with dead engines.

2 Veneurheilijat ry Kalevala Race REGULATIONS The races will take place according U.I.M. rulebook, rules of NA and orders issued by local organiser. 6. ADDITIONAL REGULATIONS The organiser has the right, if necessay, to issue additional rules to this advance program, which are as binding as the regulations. Rules changed by the organiser will be distributed in writing to officials and drivers at driver s meeting or before the heat. 7. DESTROYED / DAMAGED BUOY 400 / damaged or destroyed buoy (buoy fee is to be paid before the start of next heat) 8. LAUNCHING / REMOVAL Launching will take place with a crane, if needed (T400, JT 250). All boats must have their own approved fittings and slings (conforming to techical control). Launching of boats in classes O250 and SJ15 also by own means. The boats will go in the water in start order. 9. START In accordance U.I.M. (307.03) dead engine start. Only one assistant / boat (except class O250 two assistants) is allowed on pontoons. 10. START ORDER Time trials in every class (for the first heat). Qualifications are used, if needed. 11. RESTART There shall be only one restart (U.I.M ). Re-fuelling is forbidden (by local environment officials). 12. MINIMUM AGE OF COMPETITORS In accordance to U.I.M INSPECTIONS In accordance to U.I.M. and NA rules. All participants have to be present and prepared for pre inspection according to time schedule. It is forbidden to practise if the boat has not met the control requirements. 14. INSURANCES Drivers must provide a liability and accident insurance document covering for bodily injury for third party material damage Drivers who cannot present such insurance document must buy an insurance from the organiser for the coast of PIT AREA Pit area will open on Thursday 29th June at 3 pm (see preliminary time schedule).

3 Veneurheilijat ry Kalevala Race Pit area is guarded from Thursday evening to Saturday evening. Only one tent or car/boat is allowed on pit area. For the other cars there is a parking lot nearby. On the pit area every boat must use absorbent carpet (U.I.M. 703). Smoking and drinking (alcohol) is strictly forbidden at pit area. 16. ENTRIES Writen entry form, fully completed and signed, must be in hand of the organiser no later than June 15 th 2006 (according ro the date of post ofice stamp or figures in fax or ). PROTESTS The protest fee is 80 euros (U.I.M ). All protests must be writen on official forms (available at race office). Time for the protest is one hour after posting of results. 19. RACE NUMBERS / FLAG SIGNALS / U.I.M. STICKERS / NATIONAL FLAGS - race numebers (U.I.M ) - flag signals (U.I.M ) Every boat must also have a national flag according to U.I.M. rules. The organiser has a possibility to have two own stickers in addition of U.I.M. stickers. 20. FUEL No fuel will be provided by the race comittee. Shell Kuhmo station s 95 or 98 octane fuel is used as manufacture specification and octane rating.

4 Veneurheilijat ry Kalevala Race PLACE AND TIME OF DRIVER S MEETING The driver s meeting will be held at hotel Kalevala on Friday 30 th June 2006 in accordance to the time schedule. Attendance of all pilots and the named team mechanics is compulsory. An attandance list will be writen and pilots will have to sign it. An extra meeting might be organised if necessary. 22. SCORING SYSTEM According to U.I.M UNOFFICIAL PRACTICE Any practice outside the official practice sessions will cause actual drivers disqualifying. 24. OFFICIAL LANGUAGE All discussions or interpretations will take place in English and Finnish. 25. PUBLICITY According to Finnish law and U.I.M DOPING TEST / ALCOHOL According to U.I.M. ( , ) 27. INSPECTION OF HULLS AND ENGINES According to U.I.M AWARDS Cups to 3 first winners in each class. Medals in classes T400, JT250 and O250. All competitors class SJ15 are awarded. 29.
