ARGENTINA BEST WINGSHOOTING IN THE WORLD HCU s Scott Steinkruger made his way back to Argentina to hunt with Manuel for his second consecutive year and will be making 2 more trips in Scott reports this as being the most fun and relaxing hunt of his life and this time he enjoyed some fantastic duck hunting along with the dove shoots. What makes this hunt somewhat unique is the fact that mainly you are hunting in the mountains, not on flat farmland. The views are majestic and the hunting rivals the finest bird hunts anywhere in the world. Of course, the numbers of birds you encounter are spellbinding. During each shoot, you constantly have doves coming within shotgun range. The mountain shooting posts are reminiscent of European driven shoots, positioning hunters in the bird flyways. It is not unusual to shoot 1000 rounds in a single shoot. Hunts are 3 nights, 6 hunt affairs with your first hunt coming on the first afternoon of your arrival, then the next two days you hunt morning and afternoon, with the final day, you will make a morning hunt then lunch and then back to the airport for your flight home. Your day starts with a hearty breakfast then you and your personal bird boy will be taken to your shoot. Two to four hours of shooting, then back to the lodge for a barbeque lunch, a siesta, and then out for the afternoon shoot. After your afternoon shoot then it is back to the lodge for a cool drink and a white glove supper. Of course, it s your hunt and you can hunt as long, or short, as you want. Your bird boy will have your ammunition as well as ice cold drinks ready for you at all times. Bring your own shotgun or rent their 20 gauge Berettas or Benellis at 70 dollars per day. All transport in country, food, beer, wine and soft drinks is included in our packages. Shotgun shells are $12.50 per box 12, 20 or 28 gauge. NEW ZEALAND RED STAG ONLY $3000 FOR BULLS UP TO 330 SCI This outfitter runs a family operation on 3 different ranches on the South Island of New Zealand. Success has been 100% for all his customers the past several years and they have taken quite a few stags scoring over 400 SCI. He offers a 4-day hunt for stags scoring up to 330 SCI for only $3,000. Last year in 2013 his 6 leopard hunters took 4 males and one was crippled and lost. In 2012 he had 6 leopard hunters take 5 big males. In 2011 he had a total of 7 leopard hunters take 5 male cats. HCU s Scott Steinkruger made a trip to Namibia in 2011 to hunt with this outfitter and took a great leopard along with some plainsgame. This PH hunts three conservancies totaling about two million acres of private property between Damaraland and Koakoland, including the Loxodonta Africana (African Elephant) Etosha and Koako Conservancies. 90 percent of his properties are free-range and not under high fence. Hunters are picked up in Windhoek and driven about 4 hours north near the Etosha National Park, where he offers 4 different camps ranging from rustic bush camps to very nice full service accommodations. SOUTH AFRICA KRUGER CONSERVANCY FREE-RANGE CAPE BUFFALO 7 DAYS ONLY $17,500 ALL INCLUSIVE One of our top South Africa outfitters has managed to acquire 6 free-range buffalo permits on over 21,000 private acres bordering the western side of Kruger National Park. This will be your traditional buffalo hunt, covering country by safari vehicle looking for fresh tracks of old bachelor bulls known as Dugga Boys then following up on foot with trackers hoping for a clear shot. Buffalo will come and go out of Kruger Park and there also is a resident population of about 350 buffalo typically on the property. Hunters should expect to see buffalo daily and the full Big 5 roam this property, along plenty of lions and leopards in the area that keep plainsgame numbers down. 7-day hunt guided 1x1 is $17,500 and from scouting trips the PH expects to take bulls around 38 inches. Once you have taken your buffalo remaining days can be spent at camp or visiting Kruger National Park.
