Firstly, we are absolutely overjoyed to announce the arrival of Helgard (Drom) Jnr.! Little Helgard entered the world on May 2nd, at 07:30, weighing in at 6.8 lb. We are truly blessed and excited for the future! 1/25

2 Proud big brother Jacobus and baby Helgard: These two rascals are going to have a blast hunting together in a few years! We had some really great hunters over in April who took down some amazing trophies. It is with great pleasure that we report on these hunts... Mike Rausch Returns! Our dear friend Mike returned to Africa to do another great hunt with us! Mike hunted with us last year and we were so happy to have him return so soon for a hunt in the Cape. Mike took down some really great trophies! Mike is on a mission to complete his Tiny Ten, which consists of Damara Dik-Dik, Blue Duiker, Common (Grey) Duiker, Red Duiker, Cape Grysbok, Sharp's Grysbok, Klipspringer, Oribi, Steenbok and Suni. 2/25

3 Mike took a steenbuck with us on his safari last year and added three more small antelope to his list on this hunt, including a common duiker, klipspringer and Cape grysbok. 1: Mike's steenbuck, taken with Somerby in : Common Duiker 3/25

5 Mike additionally took some fantastic trophies to add to his already amazing trophy room at home, including a mountain reedbuck, a fallow deer, an ostrich, a lechwe and an elusive Vaal rhebuck. 5/25

6 In between hunting, Mike took an exciting trip to the picturesque town of Mossel Bay to do some exhilarating shark-cage diving! 6/25

Dan Zaicek takes a Hippo and Croc We were so happy to welcome Dan and his girlfriend Connie to South Africa for a great hunt! We met Dan in Harrisburg in 2016 and it was great to finally have the couple over! Dan was on a mission for a hippo and croc, and he sure did succeed! Dan also took down a great buffalo and some other trophies. The rifle that Dan used for all of the animals, except the Caracal, was a 375 Ruger. 300 grain solid was used on a between the eyes head shot on the Hippo, taking him down at 80 yards. We had to belly crawl about 100 feet to get a makeable shot. 300 grain DLX took the top off the croc's head. Better to be lucky than good!" The 300 grain DLX also stopped an absolutely spectacular buffalo in his tracks with a 50 yard frontal shot... Almansouri Family Safari We were very excited to welcome Mubarak Almansouri and his sons Ali, Hammad, Saleh and Muhammad to South Africa for a great safari. We were very happy that Ali's friend, Tariq, also decided to join at the last minute. The men came all the way from Qatar and we had an absolute blast hunting with them! They took down some great antelope. The guys took the meat home for their family and friends afterwards - a little sample of Africa! 10/25

Thank you for choosing Somerby to host you on this excellent hunt. Rogers Safari It was a great pleasure for Somerby to meet Arky Rogers in Las Vegas at the beginning of the year. Arky and his wife, Debbie, came to visit with Somerby at the beginning of April and we were extremely happy to have them over! 12/25

13 Debbie took down an exceptional kudu at the end of their safari - really one for the books! Debbie took advantage of our guided safari option and went on a great adventure with our tour guide, Lindie. The ladies went on a cross country escapade and fit in some really great i i i! 13/25

activities! Debbie and Lindie visited the Elephant Sanctuary where there was some great interaction with the gentle giants. A delightful experience!

Debbie also visited in the Free State, where the ladies went to the quaint little town of Clarens and saw some lions up close. The ladies next went on to the Kruger National Park for a relaxing photo safari. 14/25

15 Debbie and Lindie also visited the charming town of Dullstroom in Mpumalanga and paid a visit to the Cullinan Diamond Mine for a fascinating tour, whilst in Gauteng. It was a really fun experience visiting the cultural village and seeing some tribal dances and African culture. 15/25

We would like to give a big thank you to the Rogers' for coming over to see us! We are really looking forward to seeing you again next year for a great hunt, Arky!

The Two Kims Visit with Somerby Again We were really excited to welcome back our good friends Kim Green and Kim Allen, along with their wives Jerilyn and Jeanne. They have been hunting with us for a few years, since 2011 and we were so pleased to see them again! The guys were on the hunt for sable and took down two beauties. While over here they also hunted a number of other great animals. The hunt took place in the Cape. Lindie took the ladies out on some great adventures and to see some of beautiful Africa. Kim and Kim firstly took down a lechwe and fallow deer each /25

17 The Kims also each took down a great Eastern Cape kudu each, and Kim Allen hunted a beautiful blue wildebeest. 17/25

18 In between sight-seeing, Jerilyn and Jeanne each took down an impala each. Nice job ladies! On the same day, Kim Allen shot a really nice duiker. 18/25

20 The following day, Kim Green took down a grand bushbuck and steenbuck, Kim Allen hunted a beautiful nyala and a bushbuck as well, and the Kims also shot a warthog each (really nice pigs!). 20/25

21 Before heading back toward Gauteng with a stop along the way to get their sables, Kim Green took down a bushpig and a mountain reedbuck. 21/25

22 We next moved on to hunt the sables... Both Kims took down some great specimens! 22/25

The ladies also took a trip to the pleasant little town of Port Alfred (stopping to see the Big Pineapple on the way), where they enjoyed some

23 While the men were hunting, Lindie took the ladies on some great adventures. They enjoyed a boat cruise on which they saw a beautiful bushbuck. The ladies also took a day trip on which they saw some beautiful elephants taking a bath, within touching distance. The ladies also took a trip to the pleasant little town of Port Alfred (stopping to see the Big Pineapple on the way), where they enjoyed some cocktails. Another day was spent relaxing at the spa, whilst another involved a trip to the craft market. 23/25
