12 Q10 Please indicate your vision for the future of Tiower ó:ton. Please include suggested improvements, concerns about the present and future of Tiower ó:ton, etc... Answered: 45 Skipped: 23 # Date 1 - Need less motorized vehicles (ATVs) + generators (too much noise) 10/25/2016 9:21 AM 2 Please go back to the old ways. Less generators, bikes and side-by-sides. 10/25/2016 9:19 AM 3 - To remain as off grid as possible, minimal development as possible. - Concerned about litter. - Concerned about clear cutting. - Concerned that individuals clear more area than needed. 10/25/2016 9:11 AM 4 Keep territory protected and common land. 10/25/2016 9:07 AM 5 Keep ATVs out of the water. 10/25/2016 9:06 AM 6 Don't allow development... new cabins in hunting areas. 10/25/2016 9:03 AM 7 - I had a cabin, I sold it. - I used to ice fish years ago by snowmobile. - Ban ATVs!!! 10/25/2016 8:55 AM 8 Getting too populated. 10/25/2016 8:51 AM 9 Less 4 wheelers (kids) 10/25/2016 8:49 AM 10 Enforcement is needed to protect the territory, otherwise this sheet will be for data/dust collection. My vision is that the territory remain a natural place, protected and enhanced from development and abusers. 11 Tioweroton is not the same wild place anymore! over-population, noise, no respect for neighbours. The future for Tioweroton is not good! Like any national park in North America, its sad to say! 12 - To be environmentally safe/protected. - Growing / flourishing - plants/medicines/berries - Less ATVs - More bicycles to promote physical activities 13 Less ATV's. OR a time limit and age requirement. Less generators or time limit. Have a limit on fishing and hunting. Restocking streams and lakes with native trout. Limitation on cabin design & construction. More education on wildlife, forestry management and etiquette Less ATV's on the road!! makes it difficult to relax there especially at night. Some type of ATV law - that sticks!!! - Maybe have some community cabins (maybe 10) - More PK's on supervision. 15 The reason for infrequent visits: - Too much development - Object to ostentatious "cabins" - Object to use of ATV's and snowmobiles. - Overkill of game by some people 10/24/2016 3:55 PM 10/24/2016 3:52 PM 10/24/2016 3:47 PM 10/24/2016 3:36 PM 10/24/2016 3:29 PM 10/24/2016 3:23 PM 16 - More police presence. - Less development. - ATV restrictions in populated areas 10/24/2016 3:18 PM 17 - Natural environment fully expected to be protected - Zoning for housing/cabins, motorized recreation - People's behavior respectful of natural environment and other people. 10/24/2016 3:16 PM 18 A peaceful place, not teenagers partying blasting music or speeding down the roads. less generators, less noise. 10/24/2016 3:14 PM 19 Less four wheelers 10/24/2016 3:12 PM 20 Less four wheelers racing around 10/24/2016 3:06 PM 21 Take care of the land. 10/24/2016 2:53 PM 22 Keep it wild. 10/24/2016 2:35 PM 23 Bike and hiking trails should be opened up. It will help keep kids off the roads. 10/24/2016 2:31 PM 24 - Community Cabins - More Monitoring/Supervision 10/24/2016 2:26 PM 25 Keep it the same in nature, trees, lakes, etc. 10/24/2016 2:21 PM 26 keep the old fashioned simplicity alive! Less generators w/tv, Less ATVs Keep it what it always used to be. 10/24/2016 2:17 PM 27 When I go up north the only thing that bothers me is the excessive use of ATVs. Too much loud noise. 10/24/2016 1:48 PM 12 / 13
13 28 Improvements on the roads with all ATVs/etc. Garbage should be taken into better consideration for the environment. 10/24/2016 1:46 PM 29 I would like to see all of this area protected. I would like to see everyone enjoy the wide-open spaces that could/should remain protected from any outside influences or any encroachment of further interference. I would like to see everyone who goes there to have the same vision of protection for the land. I would wish that people would just go there for the peace/quiet & serenity of the area. I could vision people fishing in canoes with no motors. I would hope that people return to the natural side of why they used to go there a long time ago (minus the generators and the ATVs). I wish there would be no need for a policy, by-law or rules "to force", "make" people do what's "right" for future generations. 30 People need to follow the guidelines (rules) more. Some cabins do not follow the rules and dig for septic tanks, etc. They build roads, cabins in places they ain't supposed to. 31 I think that areas must be identified and planned for, for future development. The land use is developing into more than just a place for recreation with the building of more substantial homes. 32 -Respect of each other's community. -To remain undisturbed as much as possible -Tioweroton is like a city now, reminds me of a trailer park. -Kahnawake is taking too much land to build compared to Kanesatake. The territory is owned jointly, not more to Kahnawake. 33 Kanesatake's reps need to negotiate our funding for Tioweroton. In fact we should get it back here. Kanesatake needs to be more invested in our territory. The funding should not be sent to Kahnawake direct. The high school should send kids on an annual camping trip to our territory of Tioweroton. 10/24/2016 1:35 PM 10/24/2016 1:23 PM 10/24/2016 1:20 PM 10/20/2016 3:51 PM 10/20/2016 3:28 PM 34 Cabin building should be restricted. Building lodges that could be time shared for example. 10/20/ :40 AM 35 To stay in it's natural state and less of/no ATV. We need to get back to the basics, in order to protect Tiowero:ton. 10/20/2016 9:55 AM 36 Save as much of it for future generations to experience life as close to our traditions as possible. *Limit ATV use like they do in Algonquin territories To cut down on noise pollution. 10/19/2016 4:01 PM 37 Preservation/Preservation/Preservation!!!! 10/19/2016 3:36 PM 38 To preserve hunting, fishing and gathering for generations not yet born. 10/19/2016 3:18 PM 39 Peaceful/Relax/Socialize/Story telling 10/19/2016 3:07 PM 40 It should stay the same. 10/19/2016 3:04 PM 41 I envision pristine forest. peace and quiet to get away from the chaos of Kahnawake. less drinking and drugging. NO DRUG DEALERS ALLOWED! Respect of the guidelines especially by caretaker. It's hard to tell people to not let their children race around on ATV's when the caretaker's children who can barely reach the machine driving ATV around. Equal rights for everyone, everyone has to follow rules. no more basements (as indicated in guidelines) Consequences for the rule breakers. Let's keep this place natural and pristine. 10/19/2016 2:25 PM 42 Protect and Preserve for the future of here and now and the future 10/19/2016 2:02 PM 43 Remain hunting and fishing grounds. Forest management, water quality, data on fish stock, health of lakes. Plant and medicine identification. Education on the importance of the ecosystem and how they're connected to the well being of the territory. 10/19/2016 1:52 PM 44 I have concerns of over population and encroachment on rivers and lakes. 10/19/2016 1:37 PM 45 People should have more respect for the land and also for other people. 10/19/2016 1:26 PM 13 / 13
